I woke up in the morning with no heat. I called Dulin Mechanical at 9 AM and explained to them that I have no heat and that I have to leave for work at 12:30 PM. They sent out a technician that arrived at my house at 10 AM. He was very polite and respectful of my home. He put on those little booties over his shoes when he entered my home. He quickly diagnosed the problem and replaced the broken igniter on the spot. From time he arrived to the time he was finished was about 30 minutes. Now my heat works great and I couldn't be happier. He even reminded me that Angies List has a coupon for the work he just performed and I printed it off and he took off the $35 from the bill.

Andre was prompt, articulate, and courteous. I told him that I suspected the problem was related to the pump for condensation from my own inspection. He diagnosed and confirmed by removing it and connecting to an outside hose for demonstration to me. He made it clear that the pump wasn't completely broken, but it would not work at full capacity all the time. He was quick with a verbal estimate while showing me. I was impressed that he had the part in his truck and he was able to confirm price and replace within 30 minutes of his arrival. Another large, reputable HVAC contractor from Angie's list had serviced the unit six months prior and noted the issue. They didn't have the part on their truck and advised it would take five days to receive and was higher in cost. Andre also took the time to look over the furnace for other issues without charging additional fees. It was a pleasure to not be "oversold" by an HVAC contractor. He was very straight forward, honest and practical in his approach which I appreciated. We have had other service calls from HVAC contractors that spend as much time selling additional services and preventative maintenance as they do fixing the primary issue. Based on previous experiences with other HVAC contractors, I feel Dulin is a very good value and will hire them for future needs.

I woke up January 7 to find the downstairs furnace had stopped working overnight and the temperature inside the house had fallen to about 50 degrees. I immediately consulted Angies List and found two awesome heating companies, which I called. Dulin called first said they could take care of me by about mid-day. This kind of responsiveness on what had to be one of their busiest days of the year was great. They explained the charge for the service call up front - no price gouging due to the extraordinary circumstances. Mysteriously, the furnace came back on around late morning, no doubt complicating the diagnosis. The technician arrived and did a thorough check of all parts of the system. Rather than take my money and leave saying "I couldn't find anything wrong." he talked to me about how I had been using the furnace. We agreed that an exterior exhaust fan had likely frozen up overnight and began working again when it warmed up enough outside to thaw the motor. He tested the motor, fan, and controlls to make sure it works as it is supposed to. We also talked about how to operate the system a bit differently during extreme cold to make sure the freeze-up did not happen again. Two nights of very cold temps have passed and our plan is working fine so far. I think the highlight of this trip is the extra effort of the technician to assure everything worked properly, to explain to me what happened, and come up with a plan to reassure me how to keep ti from happening again. Also important to me is Dulin's responsiveness, the time spent by the technician in the face of a busy day, and the company not using the situation to raise their prices or try to sell un-needed repairs. I trusted Angies List to help me find a solution and I trust Dulin for delivering in a commendable manner.

Andre was on time. He was fast and polite, answering all questions. I will definitely use this company again.

They are very good. I like them. I believe it was a Big Deal around $70. Anytime I have a problem I usually call them.

They're great. Nice, punctual, professional, and clean up after themselves.

Rick and JJ were fantastic to work with on the project. Very professional and thoughtful of their surroundings. They worked quickly and efficiently and other than occasional tool sounds you wouldn't know they were there. They gave me a full detailing of how the new equipment worked and how to replace the filters when the project was completed.

They were reasonably priced based on quotes that we got from competitors, and I would definitely call them again.

Called 3 contractors from Angie"s list for quote on replacing my 17 year old heating & cooling system. 2 provided detailed quotes while one thought about it and offered a quote 2 weeks after my initial call. Over $3,000 price difference on same Trane installed equipment. Joey from Dulin makes it very easy when explaining the detailed quote plus he details the available rebates, Duke, Piedmont Gas, Trane and of course the Angie's list discount. He completes all the paper work for the rebates. Crew showed up on-time, introduced themselves and began working. Once completed they instructed me on the new thermostat and cleaned up everything. Next day owner Joey showed up to inspect the work and make sure I was pleased with everything. He noticed 2 small cosmetic items he wanted to improve and said staff would be here next day and they were. Excellent company with great prices.

I called on Monday morning and they gave me an appointment right away and the technician was right on time. He was very knowledgeable and had my air working in no time. I was worried that my unit would have to be replaced but the technician said coolant was all that was needed. I was very relieved. I would definitely use them again.

Found Condensation pump not working

Excellent, I have been a regular customer since they replaced our downstairs unit in 2008.They have provided annual maintenance of both units since than.I have found them to be knowledgeable,professional,dependable and honest.I cannot say that about two big name a/c companies in Charlotte I dealt with prior to Dulin.

I have lived in Charlotte for 35 years and dealt with quite few of the contractors not only on this list but those who are rightfully not on the list --By far the most outstanding group I have worked with . From the response time to the caliber of people that work for them to the very reasonable the price . They fix the problem --they don't try to sell you a new unit or gouge you for the service call . They don't make promises they cant keep like the group who advertises you will have cool air at your house tonight. Look bottom line is -- you want it fixed right --you need it done soon and you don' t w ant to take out a second mortgage to pay for it --Call these guys

We experienced a breakdown of our AC unit on a Saturday. Contacted two service providers that were very highly rated on Angie's List - Dulin was one of them. Both businesses returned our initial call promptly. We opted to delay repairs until Monday. Both companies stated someone would call us on Monday morning to follow up. The scheduler from Dulin Mechanical called promptly at 9 AM Monday. We never got a follow up call from the other organization. The Dulin scheduler gave us a window of time in which we could expect a call from the technician who would be providing us with repair work. Their technician, "JJ", called within the window of time we were told he would! So far two excellent marks for this company! When JJ arrived, the professionalism continued with him parking his professionally-marked business vehicle on the street. This may not seem like a big deal to most people, but to us, it is a courtesy that is often overlooked by contractors who come to our home. JJ introduced himself and was dressed in a Dulin Mechanical shirt to verify his identity. Another small but important detail. He was thorough in his assessment of our problems, proficient in repairing them, and was pleasant to do business with. We would specifically request his services again if/when we have need of future repair work done on our HVAC system.

Great! Joey Dulin responded to every call and email promptly. Answered all my questions. His technicians were prompt, polite, friendly, answered all questions too. They made sure we had at least one AC unit working at all times. They cleaned up when they finished and were happy that we chose their company. The price also includes 1 yr of maintenance and seasonal tune-ups. I would recommend them to anyone!

They are very good. They saved us some money by not having to buy a part worth $400. We are just really good not having to replace the whole air conditioning system. They could have just told us it needed to replace and it costs us this much money. ??? The A/C was not cooling so they fixed it by replacing a small part otherwise it would have costs us $600 to replace it and this is unusual these days when they want money. It was nice that he saved us some money. They picked up every little piece afterwards. When they came in they were very nice. They saved us money and I don’t know how much it would cost and to replace the air conditioner and heating it is very, very expensive. They came out when they could and we scheduled an appointment.

I received several quotes on replacing both HVAC units in my home since they were close to 15 years old and certainly not as efficient as needed. Called Dulin Mechanical and Joey came out and gave me the most thorough and complete assessment of replacing the systems. I received several options from Dulin and chose the what I considered was best. The crew showed up on the scheduled date and time and performed their work flawlessly. Since both units were being replaced and it was very hot, they replace one system at a time to limit the discomfort in the house due to the heat outside and no A/C. The crew was extremely professional and friendly. When the job was completed, the cleanup process was fantastic and there was no sign that they were even here. Dulin returned in the fall to check that the heating systems were operating properly and again this spring to check the A/C units as well. My house is much more comfortable and my energy bills have decreased dramatically. I definitely recommend Dulin Mechincal.

I was very happy with the entire process. Once I started getting quotes on replacing my systems, I was impressed that Joey Dulin came out to personally inspect/advise and bid on the job. (The other two, highly rated companies, sent sales advisors) From the start, I understood that this was going to be a challenging undertaking. The location of the two original air handlers was impossibly small, so replacing them with two new units without reframing a wall was going to be very difficult. Only Joey recommended going with a single system "2-zone" replacement. Faced with two quotes advising a dual system replacement and Joey suggesting a single system replacement, I offered Joey another chance to come out and reevaluate the job. He was very accommodating and assured/convinced me that a single 2-zoned system was my best option. The job was scheduled, and was actually able to begin a day early. As predicted, it was a challenge to fit the new system in such a tight space. Nonetheless Joey, to his credit, came out to personally supervise the completion of the job. In the following days, as the system needed to be tweaked and adjusted, the Dulin techs handled it promptly and professionally. For the first time in years I am actually cool in the summer! Over the 2 - 3 day job I was able to interact with a number of the Dulin technicians & installers. What struck me about the team was that they seemed like genuinely "Good" people. From Joey on down, they were patient with my questions, generous with their explanations and open to my suggestions. Good Job!

Provider showed up nearly an hour and a half later than the 2 hour window that they quoted me (2:00-4:00) without even a courtesy call to explain their tardiness. Once they arrived at 5:15 I was unable to stay as I had another obligation that evening. I wrote a check for the agreed upon amount and had to go, trusting that they would do what they needed to do and send a written report as requested. Keep in mind that this is a home that we are purchasing and i had been sitting in my car waiting for the providers for 3 and 1/2 hours on a warm day in June. The next day we received an invoice (not a written report) claiming that the HVAC units were in "good working order" and they had cleaned out the drains. There was no detailed report about the quality of the units nor no mention of the difference in air distribution among different rooms in the house, as was noted by our home inspector. In essence, we feel as if the technicians simply entered the home, turned on the AC and heat, saw that it worked and called the job done. We truly believe that we could have saved our $210 and done that much ourselves. Overall, it was not a good experience and I will not be calling on them again nor will I recommend their services to friends and family in the future. Update: Since last posting, I have heard back from the manager of Dulin Mechanical who was very proactive about correcting the negative experience. He has offered to personally re-do the inspection alongside one of his more senior technicians. Additionally, he has offered to make a financial compensation as well. Although the re-inspection has not been scheduled yet, I am more than satisfied with this company's efforts to correct a bad experience and, based simply on the high marks they have received from other customers, I am confident that the next encounter will be a positive one.

It went exactly as outlined by owner, Joey, who made the sale. The 2 man crew showed up on time, were neat, and finished the job in about 5 hours. An electrician followed next day to insure electicial was correct. Then about 5 days later the country inspector came to insure everything was right with the job and it was. I was furthermore very pleased that Dulin gave me a $250 discount since the reference had come from Angies List (so the subscription paid for itself immediately).

System has worked perfectly, they fixed the large differences in temperature in our upstairs rooms but adjusting the ducts in the attic during install. And we have seen lower costs from the much more efficient AC units. We plan to continue to us Dulin for maintenance of our systems and have recommended them to others.

They did a great job. They did a good job at looking at our system and making appropriate recommendations for what we needed as well as giving us a range of options. They did a very professional job of removing the old system and installing the new. When we had difficulty with one vent they came back and repaired it without any additional charge. The price was very good when compared to other providers.

I had the work completed by a different company.

Very professional, on time, very reasonable cost for the project.
