I contacted Dulin Mechanical at 2:00 pm this afternoon as a perspective customer requesting service for my upstairs HVAC unit which wasn't blowing cold air. Lisa in the front office was very helpful and professional and was able to find an opening for a technician to come out this afternoon. I was extremely pleased with that news because the 12 other contractors I had called prior to Dulin told me that they were backed up for 2+ days. Lisa gave me expedited priority because I was an Angie's List subscriber and told me how much they value customers who come to them from Angie's List. Their technician, Chase, arrived at my house approximately an hour and a half after I called for service, and had completed the work under an hours time. I was able to have a working upstairs unit before 5:00 pm, less than 3 hours after discovering I even had a problem with my unit. Spectacular service!! Chase was very courteous and was easy to work with. I have requested maintenance contract information from Dulin as my initial experience with them was top notch. I would definitely recommend them to anyone seeking HVAC service. I was given a $35 service call discount as an Angie's List customer. The only additional charges were for the cost of the freon.

I wanted a replacement for a 20 y.o. existing unit that was slowly leaking CFC refrigerant. Got three quotes and liked Dulin the best. Josh was able to find a simple thermostat rather than a programmable for my mother who lives in the house. I selected a less expensive Goodman unit which I researched and found to be acceptable. Household name brands cost $300-400 more. Installers arrived on time and completed the job in a few hours. Installation was neat and post-installation clean-up was good. To their credit, Dulin uses a licensed electrical subcontractor to ensure that electrical work is completed to code. New pad and replacement of deteriorating flex duct was included for a thorough rehab. So far, everything looks good and works fine!

The entire experience was start to finish was great! They were responsive and knowledgeable. They took as much time as we wanted when walking us through the whole system. Their service was outstanding. We have had two instances where we needed them to come out for service and they were here within 4 hours each time. They have also given us calls when there were a few parts that needed checked due to recalls.

Dulin is one of the few companies in the area that install and service geothermal heat pumps. Mickey showed up on time. He performed the diagnosis and concluded that I had a bad solenoid valve on the heat pump. He estimated that it would cost around $300 to replace the valve as it was a custom part used only for that brand of heat pump. An equivalent off the shelf part would've cost $100. When I expressed shock at the price he suggested that he could whack the solenoid with a wrench and see if that would do anything. Since I had nothing to loose, I said OK. He whacked it a few times and it started working. And has worked for over a year. Unfortunately it has started acting up again but whacking it does not seem to work this time. Or maybe I'm not doing it hard enough. I was not charged for the estimate nor the whacking of the valve.

The project officially started in February, after lots of meetings with GES companies and HVAC companies. Dulin Mech. was by far the winner in cost and comfort level. We were very confident that the work would be excellent. The old HVAC was removed and replaced with a very high energy efficient HVAC system. The drilling was the most challenging portion of the project. It turns our that our home sits on some of the hardest granite (salt and pepper granite) in NC. Through it all; changing drilling bits, drilling rigs, and finally drilling companies, Joey and Josh kept us informed and updated. Once the holes were done, which took two days in the end, the GES was installed. Joey and the GES company (ECR Inc) then took the time for testing and perfecting the GES to obtain the maximum energy efficiency possible. Though the project ended up taking all summer, none of us ever considered quitting. We now have much lower energy bills as well as a more comfortable living environment. Thanks!

In February of 2006, our 15 year old furnaces went out. We called Dulin mechanical because a friend referred them. We were delighted by their responsiveness and professionalism. A gentleman named Josh Newell came out in a timely fashion and educated us on our options. We ended up replacing our 15 year old A/C units as well. Anytime we have called their office with questions or for our first A/C service, they are very pleasant and professional. Anytime we have called Josh, he has responded in a timely fashion. Overall, they're a great company!

I decided to go with Dulin because they were more informative, knowledgeable and definitely more professional than the other companies I received quotes from. They took time to listen to me and offered several options and solutions. Their price was very competitive, too, not the lowest, but certainly not the highest. I felt like I was not being pressured to buy right now which was not the case with the other companies. The installation crew did an outstanding job, very neat and professional. The job went very well from start to finish, I couldn't be happier!

Great. Came out quickly and did the job well. We helped them a bit with the framing that needed to be done, since they're not carpenters. I don't remember what the contract price was, but it was extremely reasonable. All of their work passed inspection on the first shot.

I called on a Friday morning to schedule an appt to have my air conditioner repaired during a terrible heat spell. Out of the five companies that I called, Dulin was the only company that could squeeze me in that day. I asked them to call me when they were on their way and I would leave the office to meet them at my house. When I pulled into the driveway Robert was already waiting for me and had replaced the capacitor. He showed me the part he replaced and he left the air conditioner open so he could show me the new part inside the A/C unit. He came inside to test the a/c to make sure it was blowing cold air. He was extremely honest, friendly, and professional. I was very impressed with Robert and this company, and I would never call or use any other company to repair or replace my heating or A/C.

I made an appointment for 8:00 a.m. to have preventative maintenance done on my three air conditioning systems. At 8:25 a.m. no one had arrived so I called the dispatcher and was told the repairmen would be there in less than ten to fifteen minutes. At 8:45 a.m. I called the dispatcher and canceled the appointment because no one had arrived. As I was leaving my driveway the repairman arrived but by then I was already late for work and had to go. I had made an early morning appointment with Dulin Mechanical because I know that appointments later in the day can be unpredictable. I did not realize that the first appointment of the day would also be unpredictable. My guess is that this is a reputable company, however, they need to tighten up their appointment process. I've decided to look elsewhere.

The estimate given seemed very high for the type of problem we are having. The estimate did seem very accurate for the solution he was offering. Their company does not seem to explore alternative less expensive methods (air flow vents, butterfly valves, etc.) that don't have 100% effectiveness. I would have liked a menu of solutions from the cheapest to the most expensive and their probability of fixing the problem. They do seem to be very knowledgeable about the types of units they install. They were very prompt in showing up and the receptionist and service tech are courteous.

My home was a little over two years old last fall when I noticed the A/C was not working properly. Since it was out of warranty, I called Dulin, rather than the installing contractor. At first, they diagnosed the problem as a clogged drain line, cleared it and left. Next day, same problem. They returned and, upon more thorough inspection, discovered that a part inside the unit was damaged, but someone had tried to "fix" it. Because of the nature and location of the damage, it was obviously the responsibility of the installing contractor. Dulin tried numerous times to coordinate with the installer for a part number so they could fix it; no luck. With winter, the project went to the back burner. Come Spring, Dulin once more tried to get the unit fixed for me at no cost. Still to no avail. Eventually, they fixed it themselves, after months of trying to help me save money. No charge until the end. They went above and beyond! (But I wouldn't use Green Htg/Cooling!)

I got quotes from three companies, offering brand names of various quality. Mickey gave me quotes on the spot for two systems, with a few different options. During the month it took us to decide, he called a couple of times to ask if we had any questions. He answered them patiently and got us technical specs as requested. Their price was $1,000 cheaper than another estimate for an identical system. It also includes one-year service contract. Installation day was uneventful, they arrived about 30 minutes early and were done right on schedule. During the month since it's been installed, they've come to check in to make sure everything was working, and that we understood how to operate it. The new system is working great, very quiet, and should cut our cooling/heating costs quite a bit...but we'll see how much.

Josh was honest and was breath of fresh air after 2 of the other companies that provided estimates.

Wonderful. Have been extremely helpful at finding solutions to problems we have experienced due to a bad installation from a different company. Dulin's techs have found and fixed problems overlooked by several other HVAC companies consulted. They are consistently pleasant, efficient, insightful, and their prices are refreshingly reasonable. They have always been very honest with us, and I will definitely use them again.

Mickey from Dulin Mechanical is wonderful! He didn't charge us more than what we needed to repair the downstairs fireplace and completed the job in less than an hour. He was very professional, nice, and I would definitely recommend Dulin Mechanical to others and will definitely call upon them again.

The overall customer service was exceptional. Josh Newell was the sales representative that we dealt with. He was professional, courteous, knowledgable, and easy to work with. All options were explained in great detail. After receiving multiple estimates we elected to go with Dulin due to their fair price and emphasis on customer service. We lost heat completely on a Wednesday, during a cold snap, and were desperate to restore heat as quickly as possible. In order to make this happen Josh had to come out late Friday night and Saturday to install the unit himself. The other companies offered installation no earlier than than the middle of the following week. I would highly recommend Dulin, and specifically Josh Newell to anyone who is in need of a new heating and cooling system or major repair.

Very professional and courteous staff. They answered all of my questions and performed the work as described and on schedule.

I called them to check on a problem with my A/C. The lady who answered the phone said the dispacher was out to lunch, and she would have them call me right back. It has been 2 days and no one has called me. I even told them I found them on Angie's List.

These guys were great. Mike (the gentleman that came to the house to do the quote) was flexible with our schedule, and was a joy to do business with. He explained the various replacement options and combinations of equipment that we might want and gave us quotes for each of them. He was not pushy at all and took the time to be thorough. The installers showed up early and cleaned up after themselves. After they were gone, the only way I knew they had been there was that I now had cool air in the house again. They did have to come back out to top off the coolant because the installers were a little short, but were very prompt in the followup.

Their listing states free estimates. VERY misleading. They only give free estimates for heating/AC installations otherwise charge $75 for an estimate. Did not request their services.

The company sales representative, Mike Crump, was very informative concerning heat pump systems and explained his recommendations. He arrived at the time scheduled, worked up two quotations and expressed willingness to come up with a third if I needed to go with a less expensive heat pump manufacturer. Though I ended up going with another company based on price/warranty offer, my impression was very favorable.

Dulin was the third of three companies that we had give us estimates for the same equipment and Dulin was about $1000 cheaper than the other two. Mike (initial rep) was very thorough in explaining what work was going to be performed and gave me everything in writing. The guys who did the labor were very courteous and prompt. I would definitely hire them again for other heating/cooling needs.

VERY NICE EMPLOYEES. DID NICE WORK. HOWEVER, DID HAVE TO CALL THEM WHEN IT TURNED COLD SINCE HEATER WASN'T TURNED ON. GOOD VALUE FOR THE MONEY.
