Dulin showed up on schedule. The rep was polite and accommodated my questions. The rep made a mistake and came back out when called to correct a freon leak. Surprisingly, he admitted it was his error and he quickly took care of the issue. Had another drain leak within a few days which was an issue in a plumbing line. The same Dulin rep came back out and fixed the issue very quickly. Dulin has been very responsive and the price paid for service on two units was very good considering the provide up to 1lb of freon in the svc. Others charge for the coolant.

Called mid June of 2010 for new a/c quote. Called back two weeks later to get quote, and was told it would come, they were busy. Called agian the following week, and again was told only that they would tell the sales person for it. No call back or quote again. Although they have my name, number and address in their computer, I still have yet to receive any communciation at all. I called today and asked one more time for info. Same story. I asked to speak to the owner, and got transferred to a secretary again. My opinion is that these folks are too busy to give everyone good service, so the bigger they get, the easier it is for them to forget how they got there. I recommend finding a business that still needs to earn their customer's trust and work.

My condo heat pump wasn't cooling well. Dulin sent a tech the next day. He was on time, and went to the roof--I live in a condo--for diagnosis. Said it could either be contaminated refrigerant or failing compressor. Since the refrigerant was cheaper, he recommended trying that first. It was the right choice. He was here a couple of hours, did the work quickly and left no mess in my condo. I decided to get a maintenance contract with Dulin and expect they will continue as my heat pump service company.

The AC died over during the hottest weekend YTD and most of the companies I called were booked up a week to two weeks out. I met with Joey on Monday and he was able to help by getting a few of his guys from other jobs to come over and replace my AC the next day. Joey gave me some great advice and his price was within a few dollars of his competition. After sitting in a hot house for nearly four days; a competitive price and timing won the job. Without doubt, his company's efforts were highly appreciated.

Dulin Mechanical was one of 3 companies that gave us estimates. I called Dulin and the other companies based on reports on Angies List. Joey Dulin came to the house the day after I called. He was personable, knowledgeable, and explained our options in detail. His price was lower than the other companies. The following week we called and scheduled the job. The installers came the following day. They were courteous, completed the job in one day and cleaned up. We were pleased with the entire process. Whenever I called the main office with questions, they were answered promptly. A few days after the install we had some difficulties using the new thermostat. I called the office in the morning and a technician came that afternoon to help us.

Joey was a little early but was very nice to speak with. I was lookin for a new AC unit and he gave me three different estimates. I ended up going with another company but enjoyed speaking with Joey and would call them again!

Joey Dulin, the company president, came to my home on 4/26/10 to consult with me about the possibility of replacing my old HVAC heat pump system with a new system. After thoroughly analyzing my heating and A/C needs, he provided an estimate broken down into the air handler and three options for heat pumps (all manufactured by Trane). Then I began comparing the estimate and my experience with Dulin with the estimate and experience with another company that had provided an estimate and recommendation a week earlier. On 4/28 Joey called to say that a large job scheduled for the next 2 days had been postponed; he would give me a 3% discount if I agreed to have my installation done on one of those days. We agreed to schedule the installation for the morning of 4/30. The two installers arrived a few minutes early that morning and got right to work. They completed the installation in the early afternoon. From my perspective, everything went smoothly. I have been pleased with the operation of the new system during air-conditioning season and am glad that I chose Dulin and the particular system that Joey recommended. Joey was highly professional and knowledgeable; he educated me well and answered my questions clearly--in person and later via telephone and e-mail. On a personal level, he was a real pleasure to do business with. I'd like to also give kudos to the other Dulin employees with whom I dealt: Jesse Reaves, Steve Dellinger, Dawn Dellinger, Kathy Dulin, and the two installers (whose names I can't remember, unfortunately). The cost of $5210 reflected the 3% discount mentioned above and the Angie's List discount of $250. Ten days after the installation, I received a check for $200 from Duke Energy's Smart $aver rebate program. Also, I will be eligible for a $1500 tax credit on my next federal tax return. So after the rebate and tax credit, my net cost will be $3510. I highly recommend Dulin Engineering to other Angie's List members.

Everything went very well. Joey Dulin was very responsive and his estimate covered all three options I requested. He took time to answer all my questions and was prompt in getting everything back to me. And he let me know about all the rebates from the gas and electric companies in my area. The actual installation went very well, despite the difficulties they encountered in extracting the old equipment from an awkward crawl space and the work having to be continued to a second day due to the electrician's schedule. The installers left everything very clean and neat, both in the yard and in the crawl space, and kept me aware of what they were doing. The Dulin office staff were also very helpful and professional - they even filled out the rebate requests for me. I'd happily recommend this company for any HVAC work!

Joey Dulin came to the house and did an assessment of the old system. He made a recommendation to replace the whole system rather than put a bandaid on the old system but he did provide an option for a lower cost short term fix. Joey also recommended we increase the size of the upstairs unit to 2.5 tons from 2 tons because the old system did not cool or heat the bonus room over the garage adequately. Joey gave me several options to choose from and recommended the most economical system for my home. They also installed a return in the bonus room to help maintain a better air temperature. The crew arrived on time, they installed the upstairs unit the first day and the downstairs unit the second day. The crew cleaned up after themselves. They broke a fence post while bringing one of the units in but Steve the job supervisor dug out the old post and installed a new one, not an easy job. Steve and Joey were always available by phone and kept me informed of what was going on. I got another quote from a large HVAC company and they were about $2,000 more for a similar Trane system. I also had a humidifer installed with the downstairs furnace, the cost was about $900 through Dulin the other company quoted me $1500 for the same humidifier.

The Dulin Mechanical estimator was extremely courteous and prompt, very professional and polite to my whole family. The work was provided in a timely manner, faster than I thought. installers where clean polite and fast, extremely knowledgeable.. All work was of the highest quality Price was more than reasonable for the work performed. I even called a few times after the installation with basic questions, I am pretty clueless, but everytime I called they didnt make me feel stupid and they even sent people back out to check for problems I was only imagining, but they were still extremely polite .. every time. Extremely responsive and they stand by their work 100% I could not image a single thing in my entire enteraction with Dulin that could have possibly gone smoother. I recommended Dulin to a friend who also got his furnance replaced and he had nothing but good things to say about Dulin Mechanical. Dulin is going to be my only source for all of my heating and air needs as long as I live in the Charlotte Area and they are in Business. USE THESE PEOPLE.. you WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

They are timely in scheduling the regular maintenance and always very prompt and courteous in their service.

I found Dulin Mechanical online who gave me an estimate that was $3000 less than a local competitor with a catchy jingle. The guy from Dulin called me on a Saturday or Sunday in order to give me a quote and, unlike some other companies, agreed to give me a ballpark figure over the phone. I was highly satisfied with the overall experience. The only problems seemed to be company organization or time management. In attempting to meet with one of the reps to come to my house to take pictures and for me to sign paperwork, the rep had to reschedule a few times. Also, the installers did not arrive at the time expected. Aside from this, I had to follow up on my own in order to get some of the paperwork that was supposed to be sent to me. On the positive side, my unit works very well, has a good warranty, and gives me a tax credit for energy efficiency. The installers even shampooed my carpet before they left.

Theirs was the lowest quote. The work was scheduled within a few days of my accepting the quote. The work was done in one day, even though it took from 9:00 a.m. until after 7:00 p.m. There were 2 complications. The first was that the old furnace could not be removed from the room without dismantling it (the water heater was in the way). This added several hours to their day. The second was that the old condenser was located too close to the house electric meter. Initially they installed the new condenser in the old location and hoped to get a waiver from the building inspector. When the inspector rejected the waiver, Dulin relocated the condenser the next day, at no additional cost. Dulin also said that the condenser they had quoted was not available, so they provided a better, quieter unit at no additional cost. They said the distributer owed them a favor. The furnace works as expected and I'm waiting for the first gas bill to see if the energy savings materialize. Of course, it will be a few months before I see how well the A/C works. All in all, it was a very professionally done project.

I called Dulin because my heat suddenly stopped working. They came promptly and did a patch job on the old system so I would have heat until I could get the new unit installed. They were clean, efficient, and quick with their service.

From first phone call to final installation all went well.

Punctual (time range was 11:00 - 1:00 -- he arrived at 11:02). Observant -- our upstairs shower was leaking into the garage. We probably wouldn't have noticed if he had not pointed it out.

Had a service contract with another company. Previous company failed to find leak in evaporator, poorly designed ductwork or missized coolant feeds. Dulin Mechanical found this issues with 30 minutes and gave me several options to correct the issues. Their explanation was clear, complete and gave me the ability to decide the best course of action for me. There was no pressure or steering to unneeded replacements or upgrades. While I didn't shop price (I was so impressed with their professionalism, I was sold), have told several friends about the quote and they couldn't believe the pricing. Highly recommend calling Dulin if considering any HVAC work.

Chance arrived on time. I had many questions on operation and maintenace of this unit since we just bought the house and I am very unfamiliar with a geothermal heat pump. Chance answered them all. The house is much cooler now and holds a comfortable temperature.

Our air conditioner had 'sprung a leak', which caused the water to flow over the attic floor, down between two walls and out on to our second story floor. Once we realized that the problem stemmed from the air conditioning unit, we quickly accessed Angie's List to find a repair company that could come out to our house immediately to rectify the problem. We called Dulin Mechanical and they sent Matt Howey out to help us. Matt showed up the same day and quickly fixed our air conditioning unit. The temperature was 93 degrees that day, so we really appreciated the fact that they came out so quickly and that we had the air turned back on the same day. Matt was prompt, very professional and very knowledgeable about his trade. He took time to explain the situation to us and even answered many general questions that we had about air conditioner care, automated therostats, etc. He was very through and very patient with us, which we greatly appreciate and the price was reasonable.$99 after the Angie's List discount. Matt even took the time to prepare a statement of the damage, so that we could submit it to our insurance company with the claim. Thanks to Matt we were up and running in no time. In the event that we have any other A/C or heating problems, we will definitely call Dulin and we'll ask for Matt. Thanks Matt!!!

We had another contractor come out to look at our a/c. While here we were told that we needed a new a/c unit and furnace ($11k+). We had it narrowed down to a new a/c and a repaired furnace at ($7k). The Dulin technician diagnosed the system and found a leak in the a/c coil and none of the same problems with the furnace. So, rather than spending $7k+ we spent $217 with Dulin (including the Angie's list discount). Additionally, we agreed to a service contract with Dulin which should help us prevent issues in the future. I am very pleased with the service provided. I would strongly recommend Dulin to my friends and family.

Price and Service was great. They were the lowest price by a considerable amount. They provided us with the same equipment as others were quoting and also provided replacing all our duct work at a lower price than their competitors. The work was completed in one day and they were courteous and professional throughout the process. They actually upgraded our A/C unit because the one they quoted was out of stock.

They were professional. They were also very responsive to us. The work was performed during the time frame in which they said it would be performed. They left the work area clean and disrupted the house as little as possible.

From Steve, who got the ball rolling, to Rafael, the salesman who gave us the estimate, to Rick and Ronnie who did the actual installation (in a tiny attic space that would make an elf swear), this company was great to work with. The house is now cooled by a unit that should last several years. I was very pleased with their work. They were recommended by friends, and we decided to give them the job when they turned up, not only on Angies List, but as Super Service Award winners. This is a big investment, and it's good to find a company this professional and competent.

After being told by another company that my HVAC system needed to be replaced, I called Dulin to get a second opinion. Rob checked the entire system and told me it was fine. A drain line had to be cleared. It seems that the other company pays its techs on commission and encourages them to upsell. It was a relief to deal with an honest company and know that I didn't have to shell out almost $10 grand for a new system. The $275 I paid Dulin was just for a one year preventative maintenance plan.

The Dulin salesman did a thorough inspection of the existing unit and unlike the other 4 estimates I received, recommended only replacing the A/C - not the furnace which was about 10 yrs old. Scheduled the job about a week out. The night before the install, I called to confirm everything was good to go and the Dulin rep said everything was good. The Dulin rep called the next morning and said I was the 2nd job scheduled that day and to expect them to arrive around 11am. We had made arrangments to have my new born baby (and her stuff) moved to a relative house during the install. Dulin called around 11am and said they had been held up and would not make it to my place until 1 or 2pm. When the install team arrived at 2, they immediately realized they had under estimated the job and would not be able to complete that day. I complained to the Dulin sales rep who apologized and offered a year's worth of free maintenance. It wasn't a big deal except for all the arrangement made for the baby. We re-scheduled for a week later and went through the baby move all over again. The actual install went very well (it took about 8 hours) and everything passed inspection and is working well to date.
