Dominion Remodeling

This contractor was the lowest of three bids by about $3K and they had good reviews so we selected them. We paid $13K for labor, installation, etc. to completely redo two small full size bathrooms. One was a walk-in glass tile shower and the other had a new tub installed with tile shower. We bought all the materials (tile, vanities, fixture, paint, etc.) The work is good quality for a good price. The men were Russian and a couple didn't understand English but the main guy did. Cons: 1) it took two weeks to get the glass for the standalone shower installed. They did tell us this ahead of time but it seems that they really should have another glass subcontractor in case the normal one is too busy. 2) when they demo'd, the dust from the demo was all over on that side of the house so they need a better system of preventing that, maybe a shield on the bathroom door or something. 3) A couple of things they went ahead and did without asking and would have saved a lot of time/money if they would have checked with us first. They put a metal frame around the shower instead of the tile we wanted, and second, they didn't do the vent right so had to redo it. 4) they used some of our tools when they really should have had their own. 5) they used our microwave without asking to cook their lunch which was awkward and they really should have at least asked, and 6) they used our toilet and left the seat up. Despite the cons I would use them again as they do good work for a good price.

We had a great experience with using Dominion Remodeling. Ours was a small project, but in the time Nik spent in our home, we were very impressed with the quality of his work, attention to detail, and his overall pleasant demeanor. The finished wall looks great! There are no seams and he had to work around the corner, which seemed difficult to do. Nik was careful to minimize the amount of dust and mess and cleaned up after himself well. We couldn't be happier with how the project turned out and highly recommend Nik to anyone who is looking for a hard-working, polite, high-quality craftsman.

Nick did excellent work and was a joy to have around the house. He helped us think through what would work best, and then did the work professionally.

Nik is a fantastic craftsman. We have been throughly pleased with the work he did (with his partner Ben) in our master bathroom remodel. We are grateful for his expertise in everything from plumbing and electrical to bathroom fans and lighting. We were delighted to have Nik in our home, and his work ethic is impeccable. We will definitely use Nik in the future.

Nikolai removed water-stained drywall from the ceiling of our library and replaced it over two long weekends. He did excellent work, which involved replacing drywall around lights and speakers. He was especially careful to protect our hardwood floors and to clean the work area every evening.In addition, he put new drywall into our master bathroom, installing a light fixture that did not quite fit and new crown molding and window trims.The carpentry was very well done and significantly improved the appearance of the window area.It is very easy to work with Nikolai. He communicated well with us and kept to his estimate. Drywall work is always dusty, but Nikolai was careful to reduce the amount of dust and to clean carefully afterwards.We intend to use him for future work and recommend him highly.
