DERITA SMALL ENGINE REPAIR

Went very well. Came out with in a day to perform the repairs on site. Was meticulous in cleaning the carburetor's parts. All works well now. Recommended.

I guess when I first called Derita Small Engine Repair and the phone was brusquely answered with "Derita", I should have noted the lack of customer service and just hung up. Unfortunately, I didn't hang up when instinct told me to. On the phone, a man told me it would take a week to a week and a half to remove the broken bolt and replace it, and that another part may need to be replaced as well. It may also need to get sent out to a machine shop to remove the bolt if they couldn't. Since other places quoted 3 weeks to fix it, I took it to "Derita". When I dropped the lawnmower off 30 minutes after the phone call, I was told I would hear from them in two weeks, not the week to week and a half quoted less than an hour before. That was the second bad sign I noted, but didn't act on. Three weeks passed without a call, so I called and was told it would be ready later that day or the next. Not bad. Another week passed with no call, so I called again, and again was told later that day or tomorrow. I noted that it was now twice as long as their original time quote, but got no response. When I called the next day, I was told a part was ordered a week ago, and should be in any day, when the same guy said the day before my machine had not been looked at yet! I hate being lied to. Another call 2 weeks later by me found that the part was now back ordered, and subsequent weekly calls by me gained no new information. Finally, when I called on August 31 (72 days after being told it would 1.5 to 2 weeks) I was told it was ready! After more than 10 weeks and multiple phone calls by me to Derita, they still didn't bother giving me a call to let me know that my lawnmower was finally done!! I let them know my frustration on the total lack of customer service as I spoke on the phone, to no response. When I went to pick up the lawnmower, it worked, I paid and left, and the guy said not one word of explanation or apology to me. I am still waiting for my first promised call, and will never bring Derita Small Engine Repair another job.
