They provided service on an existing sprinkler service at my last house, and they were fine, so in my new house, I hired them to install a new system. Half my yard was existing grass and half was newly laid sod. I expressed concern about that, and asked if I should wait, and he said it would be fine. They would pick up the new sod and after digging the trenches, they would just lay it back down. In the existing yard, they would use that trench machine. The layout of the sprinkler system is good--that person knew his stuff. But nobody else on the crew did. To dig the holes for the sprinkler heads, they didn't chop out the grass in those locations. They just dug and heaped dirt all over the rest of the grass. Then after putting in the sprinkler heads, they tossed the dirt under the pieces of sod so that the sod didn't lay down smoothly. They should have filled in what was necessary, removed the extra dirt and replaced the grass back on top. They tore up a large section of my backyard that was wet from rain the night before by driving the trench machine on it. They could have gotten to the back yard by driving around the other side, which was drier. I complained that the yard was destroyed, and so they came back with some sod to repair some areas. However, they didn't remove existing sod--they put new sod on top of dying sod. After a two weeks when it wasn't rooting, I pulled some up and found the rotting, decaying sod underneath! I had to dig it out myself and put the sod back down. Unfortunately, I didn't catch all the areas, so some of it died. Other parts were overlapped, and so I had to do a lot of rearranging of sod pieces. In areas I caught early, I lifted up the sod and dug out the extra dirt. I was able to save areas by doing so. As for the new sod sections, I am still (1 month later) finding lumpy areas where the sod has not rooted because it has poor soil contact. I pull it up and find piles of dirt from sprinkler heads. They should have removed the extra dirt and hauled it away. I'm sure that next spring I'll be spending thousands to replace areas of sod. But for now, I have no money for that. I expected some damage. This was much, much more than should have occurred if they had been more careful in their work. They didn't use tarps to keep dirt off the existing grass, so there were chunks of clay soil everywhere. They did a terrible job in repairing the large areas they destroyed. They did an amateur job in the newly sodded areas of lifting sod up to dig the trenches and sprinkler heads. I've spent many hours fixing what they did poorly.

A date and time was scheduled for them to come to our house and review the problem with our irrigation system. They did not show up. When I called they apologized and said they had computer issues with their scheduling system. We rescheduled the date and time and failed to show up the second time. They never called to explain what happened the second time. I did not give them a third chance.
