Bob did a great job. He is a perfectionist both in the quality of the work and the way he maintains and cleans up the site. My dad was a mason and I recognize excellent work. Bob worked carefully with us on the scope and design and implemented it exactly as we wanted. The price was very fair. We enjoyed working with him.

We've had a lot of work done on our older home over the years and this was definitely one of the best experiences we've had. Bob was very reliable, courteous, and the work product was fantastic. Usually we have to deal with the "aftermath" of having such work completed, whether something is broken, or a mess is left behind; however, Bob left the area completely pristine. The only thing different is we have a nice new walkway. Highly recommend.
Description of Work: We had a stone walkway installed.

Everything went smoothly. I paid Bob for the labor, and I purchased the thin veneer stone from Site One located on Westinghouse Blvd. and had it delivered to my home. Bob is very professional and was fussy with completing the wall. It is not an easy task to make it look aesthetically pleasing; a bit like a puzzle. We are very pleased with the results. Each day after working, he cleaned up and left our front yard looking neat. His price was very reasonable and the quality was excellent. Highly recommend.
Description of Work: 8" dry-stacked veneer stone wall for front yard garden (to keep mulch inside).

Bob Dausman was referred to me by a handyman who has done several jobs for me. I needed to have two small stone retaining walls built. One was L-shaped, approximately 9 feet x 8 feet. The other was a straight 12 feet long. I searched all over Angie's List for someone to do this small job for me. Half the people never responded; the other half were interested only in doing BIG jobs. I left a message for Bob and he called me back. His "bread and butter" is doing masonry work for large contractors so he's not available at the drop of a hat. He came to my house, looked over the job and gave me a quote of $525 to remove the existing wood retaining walls and replace them with stone. The price included removing the wood walls. I told him that I would take care of having the stone delivered to my house (1 ton of thin stone from a local landscape products vendor.) He told me it would be 3-4 weeks before he could get to my job. That was fine with me. We touched base a few weeks later and coordinated the stone delivery with his availability. He arrived on Tuesday, June 23 and completed the job on Friday, June 26th. While digging out the dirt for the foundation, Bob came upon some HUGE tree roots that took the better part of a day to cut and remove. As I thought this wasn't part of the original agreement, I told him that he should add some more $$ to his quote. At the job's completion, he asked me if an additional $100 would be agreeable. It was. Bob was very deliberate in crafting the walls. The stones weren't as thin as he would have liked and he did a fair amount of trimming to create the wall layers (which, BTW, were all mortared together.) [NOTE: This morning (June 28th), while trying to remove a shrub behind one of the new walls, I accidentally chipped a triangular piece of stone from the top layer. I called Bob and asked him if he could stop by some time and patch it. He said he would and would probably replace the entire stone instead of doing a patch.] I was very pleased with the final product. Bob is definitely a craftsman from the "old school." I recommend him highly. But again, you have to be patient with his schedule.
Description of Work: Built 2 stone retaining walls.
