D & D Drywall & Painting

I couldn't have asked for a better paint crew and finished product. Each team member knew exactly what to do and how to do it. David Garcia (one of the D's in D & D...) supervised the work. I provided them with a house key since I had no question about their integrity; if you work with them you will know what I mean. They fixed drywall spots that had been overlooked by our drywall patch company. Their attention to detail was amazing. They primed where necessary and applied a second coat wherever it was needed. They constantly went over their work. Amazing quality. D&D was very flexible. I needed a corner blocked off with drywall. After mentioning that I needed a corner blocked off with drywall they offered to construct it, drywall, and paint! When we decided that wall paper had to be removed in one of the bathrooms they complied and made it happen. The small additional cost to the original quote for the extra services was reasonable. The entire job took a week and when it was done I was actually sorry to see them leave. It was a wonderful experience.

The workers were very careful about containing dust for the interior repair work. They cleaned up all the waste/scrap materials.

An appointment was scheduled between 9am and 10am on 11/02/2014. After waiting till after 10am and not hearing from D&D I called and spoke to D&D. I mentioned our appointment and asked if he was running late and still planned on coming over. He asked if we could meet tomorrow. I advised him that I could not meet tomorrow and asked if we could meet later today to which he simply said no. While telling him I would have appreciated a phone call to say he wasn't coming over and I think I will look else where he hung up on me. There was ABSOLUTLY NO PROFESSIONALISM on this companies part.

Scheduled appt for estimate, never showed and didn't call. When I texted later in the day he apologized, asked if he could come the next day. I informed him that no one would be available and he never contacted me with another date for an estimate. Very dissatisfied.

Never called me back or contacted me via Angie's list.

I can't say enough good about D&D Drywall. Dennis and his crew were our lifesavers. We searched for someone high and low to do this project - Dennis and his crew where the only people in the Charlotte area to be open minded enough to take on the project. Dennis showed up on a holiday to meet us to look at what needed to be done for the project. He took a sample of the cement mud to see how it would work and how it would sand. We were impressed by this because we knew he would do his homework. The project took about two weeks and his workers where out there everyday working hard. This was not an easy project to complete considering it is a new technique. Dennis was pretty responsive considering his business is busy. We would call, he would call back within a day usually. Our only complaint is the mess that was made on our property. However, we talked to Dennis and they did an excellent job of cleaning up. The job is basically done except for a few small things that were missed in one of the bathrooms. I have faith that Dennis and his group will finish the job and come back for touch ups if need be. Thank you D&D Drywall!!!!!

They were very responsible and did a great job completing on time. The quality of work was excellent and they were trusted to access the unit in my absence. They provided estimates and a walk-through answering all questions and providing me options on how much I wanted to do at my end or hire them to complete. I would recommend them anytime for work and will definitely be using them again in the future.

We were very pleased with Denis and David and their great crew. These guys were punctual, flexible and very accommodating to us. We had several other contingencies, such as our electrical inspection, HVAC installation, that they worked around beautifully. I wasn't sure about whether to put these guys on carpentry work since their focus is drywall and painting, but the molding repair and replacement work was outstanding. The walls and ceilings are beautiful and primed perfectly. My husband and I will absolutely use them again for future renovation work in our home. Thank you Denis!

Dennis promised to be here for an estimate between 11:00 and 12:00. I sent a e-mail to him at 12:06 saying that if he did not show by 1:00..to forget it. He showed up at 1:02 and did not apologize until he was prompted and also that we belonged to Angie's list. He did send me a e-mail at 12:36 saying he would be here in 20 minutes. The lack of feeling bad for missing the time and the shoulder shrugging was something I did not appreciate.

It went well. Denis came on a Tuesday and gave me a quote for both mudding and sanding. The crew came on Friday and performed all the mudding, then returned on Saturday and performed the sanding. They did a good job of keeping the house clean and partitioning the house where sanded. The next week we were priming and painting the drywall.

Workers were neat and efficient, did a great ceiling patch job and painted and even did a little extra touch up for me. Will use them again.

We had a few of holes in our ceiling that needed to be patched, and since it was covered with popcorn, we decided to scrape the popcorn off and have the ceilings finished. Dennis came out and provided the quote for patching the holes, finishing the ceiling, priming, and painting. Dennis was prompt, attentive, and helpful. Dennis's crew was professional, hardworking, and did a great job. They sanded all of the ceilings on the first floor, re-mudded all of the seams, patched the holes, primed, and painted. They also did a great job of patching the holes that were in our master bathroom. Dennis made sure that we were happy with our ceilings, and wound up with very happy customers. We are planning on finishing the ceilings upstairs, and we will absolutely call Dennis again to complete the work.

On time, careful to protect my wood and floors. Denis was very professional, answered all questions, great experience.

My father owns one of the largest painting companies in southern California. As a teen he taught me the trade and I helped him for many years. It's been a long time since I've worked as a painter but I know a solid job, given my experience. when i got home last night, the ceiling looked like the accident never happened. This morning I looked at it from all angles with the sunlight and Denis matched the texture and paint exactly like any other area of the ceiling. Most of all, this was a very small job. But he was able to get on it in a few days and was prompt and courteous. I've already emailed all my neighbors. Take it from a guy with over two decades of painting experience, Denis is your guy!

The plastic they used was very thin so I had drywall everywhere. They went from one area to another instead of staying and either finishing the top or bottom. They painted over my heat ducts soI had to makea trip to purchase new ones. They were deducted from the bill, however, I had to install them and I am no spring chicken. My windows would not clean up from the drywall dust. I finally hired a professional to do it because I pulled my rotor cup from scrubbing. I am missing a enamel bowl which set on my counter. It was given to me from a dear friend who has passed. when I called Dennis and asked about the bowl he just plain acted stupid like there was nothing he could do. I asked him to ask his workers and I still haven't heard back about that. I have a small revolver about my cabinet. The box was opened and left that way so it was full of drywall dust. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

D & D was responsive and professional. This was a big job - they started on time and performed as promised. They are bidding on further work in our house as we continue to update this 30 year old home.

The work was really good and I'm satisfied with the results. My only caveat is I have yet to receive a receipt from him for the work, which I need for my records and homeowner's insurance.

We called D&D, based on the great reviews found in Angie?s List, to correct several drywall issues we had. While discussing the job, I asked Dennis for a quote on repairing the two-story bump out that contained wood rot. We agreed that the best material to replace the wood with was Hardie Board. After discussing the quote with my wife, we accepted Dennis?s bid and scheduled the work for the following Monday. Upon completion, the bump out did not meet our vision. We expressed our concerns to David, one of the D?s and the supervisor of our job, and he stated that our satisfaction was his utmost concern. He came back the following week, removed and replaced the areas of our concern, repainted and made sure any other issues were taken care of. The area was cleaned and our agreed upon price, paid. This contractor deserves the respect shown by the Angie?s List reviews. Yes we had issues pop up, but they were addressed and not linked to an increase in price. In all the years we?ve rehabbed our homes, we?ve interacted with many contractors. Not all have been acceptable. But D&D stands out. They are definitely worth the call.

I called Dennis and got his voicemail. After leaving a message, he called back immediately. He was very responsive and agreed to come out two days later. He asked that I text my address to him, which I did. He came two days later as planned. He was about 15 minutes late, but I was ok with that since traffic to my area can be congested. He walked through the house and took notes, made great suggestions, and was very pleasant. He promised to send a quote. I waited for his quote for days, as I had narrowed him to one of three providers, pending his quote. HIs quote never came. After a week, I texted him and asked if he still planned to send a quote, but I never from Dennis again. It is unfortunate because I was really interested in his services, but had to disregard him due to lack of follow up.

The owner and his employees were " OUTSTANDING". I will contact ' D & D Drywall & Painting ' in the future for any other services. I have provided the owner's business cards to friends and family members.

The appraisal meeting was as scheduled and we received a written estimate that day. A few of the other contractors that were to give us estimates did not follow up or called with estimate. This is the type of company that we went on Angie's list to find. The entire crew was professional, punctual and they kept us updated as to the progress and the work plan. Removing the popcorn ceiling was a very dirty job but they had covered everything up including the walls with plastic sheeting. They cleaned up at the end of the job including vacuuming the carpet and placing the furniture back in the rooms.

I had originally received three separate quotes to complete the project. Although Dennis provided a competitive quote, I initially selected a different contractor. That contractor unfortunately became ill and couldn't do the work. Luckily for me, Dennis and his crew were still available and could start on the 23rd. They were to be at my home at 8:30 to begin work. They finally arrived at about 10:00 and immediately began work. Drywall work, especially mudding and sanding is very messy and can create a lot of dirt and dust. Dennis and his crew fortunately kept the mess to a minimum. The entire job was completed in two days. The overall quality was very acceptable, however, I did need to touch up a few areas before I could apply the finish coat of paint.

I called for an estimate and got it on the same day. The price for the job was very reasonable. They showed up as scheduled and completed job as promised. I would highly recommend.

Denis, and his guys, did a terrific job. Denis promptly did a free estimate for us. The work was great quality, with the drywall looking very seamless. Things were done efficiently, over a 2 day span (due to drying time.) He generally stuck to the time frames we were given. He was very professional, and a delight to have in the house as he is a hardworking, and upbeat gentleman. The crew that he had working with him, were also very polite, and great about cleaning up the worksite, afterward. We are very content with the work performed, and would absolutely use him again, if needed.
