This was the best experience that I have ever had with any subcontractor and I am a subcontractor (comercial roofing) myself. I have never delt with better people. I will hire again and again. They will be my painters to go to. This was worth a life time subscription to Angie's list by its self. Thank you Angie.

Dennis returned my call for a quote quickly and we arranged to meet later in the afternoon to review the work. He was right on time, very professional and gave me the option to provide the paint or he could buy it and include it in the quote. Originally we were planning to just have the water damage repaired and popcorn removed but decided to get a fresh coat of paint on everything while the rooms were cleared out for the repair. The crew was very careful to cover everything, dropcloths on all the floors, plastic over them and plastic covering everything else, including the doors to protect from the popcorn removal mess getting into other parts of the house. The work went very smooth completing everything in 2 days. When they were finished everything was cleaned up very well and all looked great. I had been given quotes between $600 & $800 to paint the two story foyer in the past so to get all the halls and LR/DR painted and the popcorn removed/ceiling painted seemed very reasonable. Very glad I decided to use D& D and will have them back to do the rest of the popcorn in the future.
Description of Work: Popcorn removal, water damage repair to ceiling drywall, two story foyer, upstairs & down stairs hallways, living room and dining room painting (excluding trim), rehung 4 exterior shutters on the second floor windows that were knocked down in a recent storm.

They were excellent. They guys' personality was fantastic and they have great customer service. They cleaned up after themselves and everything looked great when they were done. They got here early and they finished the job early too. And the price was right.

Overall it went well. They were friendly, their price was reasonable and they were on time. Their painting is excellent, but they're careless on clean up. I'm still finding pieces of plaster in unexpected places, i.e., behind the fridge, floor or on a wall. For an extra $50 I also had D&D install a wall mount medicine cabinet in the master bathroom. The worker didn't read the instructions, and hung it inappropriately. The most annoying part was that he broke the inside glass when he decided to drill his own holes instead of the pre-drilled holes. He also threw away pieces that were needed to hide the installation process. Fortunately, I had looked at the instructions so I knew what was missing. I had to dig those pieces out of the trash. The broken mirror was never mentioned to me. I found the broken glass after they were fully paid and gone. I felt that was sneaky. Because I'd purchased the wrong ceiling paint, D&D went and purchased the right paint. The size of container that was purchased was much larger than needed to paint the ceiling. I wound up paying quite a bit of money for a big tub of ceiling paint that they took with them. When they left they also took my broom. The fan installation was okay, but it doesn't look fully centered.
Description of Work: I hired D&D Drywall & Painting to remove wallpaper, patch and paint the walls in my kitchen this past summer. I also had a medicine cabinet installed in the master bathroom and a ceiling fan installed in the kitchen.

Called D and D after seeing their listing on Angies List. Upon calling the number Dennis acted very professional and then came out to the house within an hour. After looking at the project, he started a few days later. He arrived when he said he would be there and the project finished on time. While he was in my house he took his time and tried not making a mess and when he said he was done he cleaned up after himself very well. A few of the area I needed to sand down after he finished, but they did not require heavy sanding. I would hire him again for another project.

Set up a time to meet at my home, after thirty minutes past the appointment time I called and he said he was right around the corner. He arrived 5 to 10 minutes later. The "estimate" was an outrage. There was only an 8' x 6" section of drywall that needed to be replaced from when we had can lights installed and a 6" x 6" section on the wall that had to be repaired. The electricians had neatly cut the drywall and placed it on the side. I foolishly agreed for the estimator to include painting the 12' x 15' ceiling in the quote which ended up being $675. I ended up having the work done for 30% of the quote although painting wasn't included but that shouldn't have accounted for such a large difference.

Their pricing wasn't the lowest (by far), however, because they could do it within our time frame, I hired them. We had numerous repairs due to a burst pipe and subsequent replacement of all the copper pipes with pex (pvc-like). In addition to their disputing that they were supposed to put shelves in a closet that was rebuilt, they have remained unavailable to repair a ceiling that clearly has "waves" in it. You can see that the job wasn't done properly. I've called and texted Dennis (the owner) and he has yet to respond or show up. On the plus side, his employees were extremely polite, worked fast, and didn't create a mess (one of our big concerns.) Had they acknowledged the shelves and completed the restoration of the ceiling area that needs it, I would be highly recommending them, but quality counts.

I emailed D&D through Angie's List on August 21st and Daniel called me back a couple of days later. I made an appointment with him for August 26th to give me an estimate on the repairs and painting. Dennis (the other "D" in "D&D" I think) showed up a little after our appointment time of 8:00. He took a look at all the areas and provided me a quote of $780 for the repairs, which I viewed as a pretty good price (included painting labor, but I provided the paint). Given their high rating on Angie's List in general, and specifically on price, I didn't get any other quotes for the job. I scheduled with them for the job to start 8:00 on Sept 2. The D&D crew (Javier and Joseph) arrived at about 8:30 on Sept 2. They finished all of the repairs shortly after lunch and scheduled to come back on Sep 3 for the painting to let the drywall dry. After finishing for the day, they cleaned up all evidence that they had been there. Dennis and Joseph arrived around a little after 8:30 on Saturday (I didn't have a specific time scheduled) and proceeded with the painting. I didn't have enough paint for the bedroom, so that probably delayed their completion by 30 minutes or so while I ran to Blackhawk to pick up another gallon. They finished up shortly before lunch. As with the prior day, they cleaned up everything very well. The quality of work was exceptional. After the paint and popcorn ceiling dried, I literally could not tell that I had had holes in the wall just two days before. Instead of painting only over the areas of the repairs, they painted the whole side of the wall where the repairs were made to make sure everything looked consistent. I would certainly hire them again and have no problems recommending them to others.

They arrived on time both days and worked very hard. I was given a time frame of two days and they finished before noon on the second day. They were very polite and helped me with the paint purchase. I bought the paint myself, and the first batch came out somewhat gray instead of off-white. They alerted me to this immediately so I could return it. Later when we realized we would need more paint, one of them asked to accompany me to the paint store to make sure the new paint matched exactly. The walls look great and I am happy with the results.

They were punctual and finished the job on time. There were several areas that I insisted they redo as they did not look good. Still, I gave them all A's as they did address those items right away after I pointed them out. It was a challenging job as this home needed some serious TLC. Do not pay them (other than materials) until the job is complete to your liking (advice I would give in any painting contract). Denis was very responsive and professional. I would definitely use them again.

GREAT! Dennis said 2 weeks and he kept it right on schedule even though we had a glitch due to product ( not D & D). I asked Dennis to let me know what was coming next, so that there wouldn't be any surprises. He called me to let me know as requested.
Description of Work: Basically, we have a brand new bedroom that Dennis and his team gutted and re-made in 2 weeks ! The did an AMAZING job and we are thrilled with the quality of their work, their attention to detail, and their ability to keep us right on schedule. They took out the old carpet and installed pre-finished hardwood floors which we provided. They re-framed the standard closet into a small walk-in which looks amazing! They primed and painted the walls, ceiling, and trim. They installed the new fan, lighting and closet system. We would happily work with this team again. MANY, MANY Thanks !!!

Overall, the service was good. Dennis (one of the owners) came out on 7/5 to do the estimate. He was professional and courteous. Day 1 /Step 1 involved cutting the drywall out - I was concerned about mold and the language barrier was a bit of a challenge when talking about this. He assured me that mold would not be a concern. He removed a piece of the drywall and replaced/patched with new drywall. He came back the next day to begin the 2 step/2 day job and brought one of his helpers. Dennis was not on time the day he was to begin the repair or the 2nd day (he did not call the second day to tell me he'd be late), but I was running behind too, so it worked out okay. He came back for the 2nd day and finished the job (priming, etc). There was a small area that I didn't like how it looked and he remedied it before he left. He did give me the 5% Angie's list discount-but I felt that his prices are off-the-cuff and no receipt was provided. I thought the cost was a bit high, but I appreciated that he completed the work in a timely manner. I might use them again, but punctuality and price are concerns for me.

Dennis and crew removed the popcorn ceiling and painted the upstairs trim in our new home and did a pretty good job, his price was very good but we did have to keep a close eye on the work product. We were ready to remove the wallpaper in several rooms and decided to have Dennis do the job. His price was OK and was not the lowest of the group. More in the middle of the other estimates we got. We stressed that we wanted them to start in the Family room and stay in there to get it finished so we could use the room, but before we realized they had pretty much taken over our house and hadn't completed anything. It started to cause us some concern so we started to inspect the work more closely and found several issues (globs of drywall mud everywhere, using my tools to make the repair, paint on the stained wood, etc). I guess the straw the broke the proverbial camels back was when I came home to see one of his guys sanding a drywall repair while holding my wife's hair dryer over the spot to make it dry faster...it looked like a blizzard of dust in our home...not good. I thought more of it and called Dennis to say I didn't think things were going well and that considering everything we should end our work. I had paid him half and said I wanted to be fair. Dennis said that if I paid him another $500 we would be settled up. In an effort to be fair I paid him and considered it a lesson learned. My plan at this point was to finish up the work myself. I went to complete the work and found that they must have used a mop to paint the coat of primer as the walls ended up with such a heavy "orange peel" or texture that I ended up having to go over all of the walls with a thin coat of plaster to knock down the texture and then sand. I am glad that I was able to finish the work as I am sure that my wife was so upset with his work that it would have ended poorly. I called Dennis and said I am not asking you to give me my $500 back, but if I knew what I knew now I would have never paid the extra cash and that I was really disappointed with his work and the professionalism of his crew. Ultimately, while Dennis may give you the best price i would caution anyone who is concerned with quality to be wary...very wary...

Dennis's crew worked very quickly. They did, in 3-1/2 days, what would have taken us 3 months! A few minor negatives: a little paint and small stain on carpet, little paint on hardwoods, but nothing major. Detail work was excellent, end result beautiful! Will definitely use D &D again.

Dennis was great to work with. I had used another company to paint and repair the popcorn ceiling in our investment property. The other company told us they could fix the few places that needed the popcorn fixed and then paint all the ceilings and trim work. However, they were unsuccessful and so I looked up D&D on Angie's List and saw the good ratings that Dennis' company held. I called him, and he came out and rescued our renovation. Actually, he gave us a great price to remove the popcorn ceiling, repair the sheetrock and then repainted everything. His crew began the next day after I received the quote. They were very clean and efficient with their work. I am completely satisfied and highly recommend D&D Drywall & Painting for your next project. Excellent work!

They are all AWESOME! Dennis is fantastic to work with! He is very responsive, follows through on all of his commitments and always finishes the work either on time or early. They have helped us make good decisions about what materials to use/not to use and always provide good ideas of things we haven't thought about. Highly, highly recommend!

I had used D and D Drywall once before, so I called them for this job knowing they were pros. Dennis came out right away and gave me a very fair estimate. I am renovating an entire condo, so when D and D came in to paint, they were not alone. The trim was still going up, and the furnace people were also there. My plan was to only have D and D there, but in a big project things happen. Dennis from D&D Drywall just worked around the others and still finished in two days! The job is wonderful, and he will come back at the end to touch up and fix anything that gets bumped as I finish the renovations. I have had dozens of contractors at my condo in the last two months and D & D was the best!
Description of Work: My entire condo is being renovated. D and D came in, repaired all the holes in the ceiling and walls and painted, ceiling, trim and walls. In addition, they repaired a wall and added a door that looks perfect!. This was a very big job and Dennis came in with his team and finished it in two days. It looks great and the professionalism of the entire D & D Drywall team was refreshing. In addition, the team will be back at the end of the renovations to touch up any work that got messed up as the renovations continue. I will use them again as I move forward on the renovations, and I would recommend them to everyone.

I called Dennis on a Friday and he came out on Monday to estimate the cost for drywall replacement and painting. He started on Tuesday removing the old drywall in the laundry room and the surrounding ceilings. When he pulled out the old drywall there was mold and I needed to have a plummer come to do repair work on some leaking pipes. Dennis called me at the end of the week to follow up and schedule a day to come back to put new drywall and replace baseboards. Overall I was pleased with the workmanship. When the old drywall was removed Dennis cleaned everything up and disposed of the moldy drywall. After the new drywall was finished the old baseboard was put outside in the bushes. There was paint and joint cement that had to be cleaned from a wall, the back door, and a lock. I should have looked closer before he left to make sure everything was clean.

It went very well overall. I could not be happier with the results. We purchased a condo with popcorn ceilings and before any other renovations could be done the ceilings had to be fixed. D&D Drywall gave us a fair estimate and could get the work done within a week. All of the popcorn was removed and the ceilings were plastered and painted. The finished job is great and I will be calling D&D drywall again as our projects continue.
