Before I purchased the Big Deal, Painter for a Day, for $199, I called the service provider, CHS Services, to find out how much they charge to finished the job if it takes longer than the time the $199 covers. I talked with a man who identified himself as "Carlos" who told me that there is no set charge, that they look at how much more needs to be done and come up with an amount that is fair to both the company and the customer. (My husband called that a "typical non-answer."). I felt like my job would take probably take longer, so I expected to have that discussion. By the way, I had no difficulty conversing with this man whose English was excellent. A few days later, a time was set for the painting to be done; I had already sent a message saying what the work was. The night before, I received a phone call confirming the appointment. I told the person that I had gone over all the woodwork with a deglosser in order to make their work easier--to make the new paint adhere better to the old semigloss finish. He said, "Good." Right on time the next day, Thursday, January 7, 2016, the painters showed up--a man and a woman--Carlos and Sandra. Since there was a definite communication issue, I knew this was not the Carlos that I had spoken to previously. They were well-prepared to do their work with all the necessary and appropriate tools and materials. I have an older house that has true divided light windows that are prone to moisture damage on the dividers if the paint is not kept up with; I pointed out a particular area of need in the bathroom. Everything had been removed from the walls, and the large furniture had been moved to the center of the room, so I felt that we had done as much as possible to make the work go as quickly and as smoothly as possible. (The wall paint was guaranteed to cover in one coat; Carlos was skeptical when I told him this, but it did!). I checked on the progress periodically, and everything seemed to be going well. I told Carlos that if they had extra time, I wanted him to paint my living room ceiling, knowing that this would run him over, but also knowing there would be an additional charge. They finished up the bathroom/bedroom right at the 4-hour time limit, and Carlos said he had to go home and check his schedule to see when he could do the ceiling; he called later, and we scheduled for the next morning. I absolutely loved the new color in the bedroom and bathroom, and thought they had done a magnificent job. Everything looked wonderful! The problem came yesterday, Saturday, 1/9/2016, when I began washing the windows to get the deglosser off the glass. I kept noticing areas that did not seem to have been painted--mainly the pane dividers. Then I KNEW they had not been painted because there were cracks in the paint close to the glass. This was the very problem I had pointed out! I began going around the room specifically looking for anything else that had not been painted, and I found a number of areas. (Just this morning, I noticed that the bathroom ceiling had only been touched up in places, not fully painted.) NONE of this was pointed out to me. I had been left with the impression that EVERYTHING in the bathroom and bedroom (except the bedroom ceiling which was specifically excluded) had been painted. I called Carlos's phone number on his business card and told him there was a problem with some of the painting on the windows and that I wanted him to come see it and let's talk about it. He said he could come at 1:00. He did not come, and he did not call to say he was not coming. I am SO disappointed because I feel this was a really bad business decision. I just don't understand why parts of the windows were painted and parts left unpainted; same situation for the bedroom door. Once the deglosser has been applied, the woodwork HAS to be painted, so now either I have to do it or pay someone else to come in and finish what CHS Services did not finish. The painting that was done was done well, but I can't in good conscience give this company good ratings because of the bad decisions that were made that have nothing to do with painting skills, consequently, I have given them all F's.

The painters painted accent walls for us and did an outstanding job! They were prompt, professional and cleaned up after themselves as well. It was a team of two and I could not have asked for better service.

I added more work on the next day for $240 for a total of $439, the husband and wife team is pretty good and hard working people, will definately use them again, one of my room needed 3 coats of paint and they did it

The first time I used them, they did a really good job. The second time, I had them paint my bedroom and bathroom. They were very sloppy. They were late. One day, they didn't get there at all. He said that they were busy. I think they overbooked. They did a really sloppy job. I had to have them back to fix things. I wasn't happy with it. I ended up paying them more because I wanted to change the colors. They charged me more for that, which was fine. It was $300 totally. I got what I paid for. They did respond to me when I called them.

Provider called to set up appointment in a responsive manner. However, the day of the appointment was a no show and I had to track them down to see when they were coming. The appointment had to be rescheduled at their convenience due to juggling jobs. I had initially cancelled the job but they came back with an offer to do the job plus another room for no charge. They ended up charging $200 for the additional room because of the size. It was a bonus room with 1/2 walls.

I purchased a special they offered for 4 hours of painting. have extra high ceilings with sky lights and knew upfront there would be an extra charge for that. I provided the paint, they brought everything else. They confirmed my appt the day before, were on time, worked efficiently and cleaned up well. I will absolutely use them again!

They were very prompt. Did a great job from start to finish. Prep all the way through to clean up. While waiting for the first coat to dry they repaired and painted my columns that my dog had chewed on. I had not asked or suggested they do that so it was a nice surprise. I got a quote from them to do more work and plan to use them in the future

There was 3 guys .they taped off the woodwork sanded where was needed.layed down plenty of drop cloths so they wouldn'T make a mess.they explained everything they had to do.they were very friendly and polite.they cleaned up real fast left their business card.they said if I had any questions or problems to give them.a call

I needed the interior of my house painted in preparation to sell and purchased this deal in anticipation of having one thing marked off my to-do list. To speed up the painting process, I removed most of the outlet covers, kitchen cabinet hardware, pictures and curtains around the house. We also removed the contents of the corner china cabinet to enable them to move it to paint the dining room. They showed up around 9a Tuesday morning to begin the job. I was at work but stopped by around 5p to check on the progress. There were 4 "painters" in the house and they had painted trim, the living room, the front of a small bathroom cabinet, stairwell and a small hallway. Two of the painters were beginning work on the dining room. This isn't a large house - maybe 1650 square feet, and the kitchen and breakfast room had already been painted other than the kitchen cabinets. We left and advised we would be back Wednesday to check on the house. Wednesday came and I stopped by only to discover they had finished the dining room and stopped. Apparently running out of time after painting about 900 square feet of the house. Nothing was painted upstairs other than the small hallway (which is basically a large "L" shaped landing). The three bedrooms and two and a half baths were not touched. No one from CHS communicated with me Tuesday night or during the day Wednesday to advise the job was not completed. It was a total surprise to discover so much was left undone and with no intention of returning. In my previous experiences with painters they have always moved the furniture back prior to finishing the job. Not so this time. The corner china cabinet was left in the center of the dining room, lights were left on throughout the house, my white living room curtains were hung on the wrong window and against a dusty screen so I will need to get them cleaned. Had they actually completed the job, the price would have been great. The fact that 4 painters only completed approximately 900 square feet of painting in "40 hours" tells me this was not the deal I thought it was when I purchased it last month. I cannot recommend them to anyone as I feel in no way did I receive anywhere near 40 hrs of painting. The person who painted the kitchen and breakfast room did so alone and in less than 2 hours. The fact that 4 painters couldn't do more in 40 hours is simply hard to comprehend.

The painting crew arrived promptly, were very courteous, neat, and did I mention how fast they worked!? I will definitely use CHS Services again.

This family- run business is extremely professional. They are very polite and considerate. They went out of their way to accommodate me and work around my schedule. They did an excellent job and were prompt and cleaned up before leaving. They worked continuously to complete the job in a timely manner. I will call on them again for my next project.

Showed up after some miscommunication barriers...but got the job done on date noted and did excellent job.

I used this painter to paint my kitchen and upstairs a few months ago. He was very professional and took care to paint well. He cleaned up after the service, and left the area clean. We are preparing to move, and hired this same painter to paint our basement. They charged more money than initially agreed upon. In addition, he left and had his wife and daughter finish the job while he left to do another job. The quality of painting was horrible. The cutting was lazy, and messy. When they left I found painters tape everywhere, drywall dust where repairs were made. It was definitely an unprofessional experience. I feel like I overpaid for the services I received. I will never refer this painter to other friends.

CHS did a fine job of painting a condo unit.

If you get the husband, wife, and son, they are 1st class and the A Team. They also have a 2nd team that is habitually late and speaks very little English. We got the A team the second day and the job was completed with high quality.

It went very well, they were punctual and completed flawlessly in the allotted time.

Painter and partner were professional and quick. Extensive use of drop cloths to protect carpet. Only concern was that some areas where he patched may not have been sanded sufficiently == used satin paint with primer included and can see rough spots.

The gentlemen who painted for us were so neat and clean and respectful of our home. They covered all of our furniture and floors to protect them and did a beautiful painting job on two rooms in less than 3 hours. We were very impressed with their professionalism and neatness and respect for our home. We would definitely hire them again.

Sandra and Renee came on time, painted the bedroom and bathroom walls and ceilings, cleaned up and left. The rooms looked great. They were so neat. There was not a drop of paint on the floors. They worked non stop the moment they arrived.

Sanded away mold, applied one coat of Kilz and then painted. Very good job.

Carlos was very punctual and as always did a great job. Have used him before. The work was excellent and done in a timely manner. I will be using him again for other painting jobs.
