Jeff Waldron was responsive, professional, reliable, conscientious, and punctual.

We contacted Jeff in January for preliminary vision and estimate. We decided to go ahead in late March. There was an issue with his original crew and he had to replace the lot of them which pushed off the schedule a bit. You would never know they were a new crew, Did excellent work! After the crew started on the deck, we wanted a minor change to the design, not a problem. We wanted to add a pergola, again not a problem. We had a ton of lattice work, it looked odd to us as they installed it. Jeff and his lead were very responsive in addressing our concerns with it and worked it until it was right. Deck looks great.

Jeff and Murray brought the true meaning of customer service and quality. When I first met Jeff for a consultation he obviously was extremely knowledgeable and had a passion in his work. He answered all of my questions and concerns before I could get them out. I felt very comfortable with his advise to design the project and the time line to complete. He was always in contact to inform us on the next steps. My finished screen porch was beyond my expectations and I would recommend him to everyone. The materials and resources were top quality and the porch is awesome. Everyone that comes to our home comments on it. They were very flexible when plans changed slightly while construction was underway. I was relived that we did not have to battle through the process as you would with other contractors.

I got a few companies for the job, and most didn't respond. One responded and just threw a number out. Everything for Charlotte was good. The quality was outstanding and they were responsive. Their price was better than anybody else that we got.

Very responsive to inquires, request for quotes and remained in contact to advise when work would be able to begin. We received quotes from 5 potential contractors. Jeff's was not the lowest but was very reasonable compared to all others. His team was extremely professional, explained many of the steps they were performing throughout the project and were on time providing quality work. We had some concerns about a few particular deck boards which were slightly off color from the factory which Jeff replaced immediately We felt the entire team was honest and easy to work with. Would recommend this contractor to any of our friends and would use again should a need arise.

Jeff responded to the email and set up a time to meet with us on the deck and what we had in mind as a replacement. Jeff provided several suggestions on how to improve the deck design. Jeff informed us that he would go back to the office and provide a quote and design on the deck in a couple days. One thing that impressed me about contacting Charlotte Deck and Porches was their Portfolio of pictures of decks they have built. We accepted the contract and informed the work would start in three weeks. They started on Monday by removing the old deck that day. I was surprised since our deck is 16' by 24' feet being replaced by the same size. Jeff did inform us that there was a small problem. Under our deck was a concrete patio which we knew and he would have to cut into it for the footings. This would increase the quote slightly. Final outcome, they had to remove the whole concrete patio and then dig the footings. Each day you could see how the deck was progressing. Jeff and his crew were very professional in the building of the deck. Any questions I had he answered during this time. Eight days later we have a very nice deck to enjoy. I have even asked Jeff about having the deck stained at a later date and he would put me in contact with somebody that he uses. I have already had a neighbor look at my deck and asked who built it. "JOB WELL DONE, JEFF"

This project went great. We now have a beautiful screened porch that looks as if it has always been part of our home. It is beautifully constructed and designed. Jeff's crew, including electricians, painters, and gutter installers did fantastic work. Jeff was very easy to have around, answered all questions with great patience and knowledge, and provided us with a screened porch that we will be proud to enjoy for years to come.

My parents, who do not speak English well and not knowing any better, had a "roofing" company build a deck for them a couple years ago. The deck was unsafe and not within building code. I decided to step in and help my parent's find a reliable company to replace their unsafe deck, at an affordable price. I called several deck companies through Angies List and based on professionalism and price, I chose Charlote Decks & Porches to do the job - THEY WERE FANTASTIC! Jeff, the owner, is very professional and not pushy in any way. Upon intial meeting, he arrived on time, and inspected the existing deck. He is always punctual and will update you if time changes for any reasons (such as Charlotte's crappy traffic). Like the other deck companies who came out to inspect the existing deck, Jeff pointed out the same problems with the existing deck, but did not pressure us in a way to have him come do the work as soon as possible. He gave us plenty of time to think it over and answered all my questions within 24 hrs. I knew immediately Jeff was the right company to replace my parent's second story (raised) deck. Jeff and Colby, designed and built the free standing deck within five business days. We chose the free standing style, to keep costs low, and to avoid fastening bolts directly to the house. The new deck looks amazing and feels more sturdy than the stairs and floors in my own house. He uses grade 1 lumber and deck screws for the flooring boards, which you can barely see (less worry about nail poppings). Though it is a free standing deck, you wouldn't be able to tell it is not bolted to the house, since it sits flush with the upstairs sliding glass door. They added a staircase with a landing in the middle that makes it stylish. Overall, the deck looks GREAT and at a very affordable price. The quality, proffesionalism, and price (compared with other deck companies) made me and my parent's 110% satisfied that we chose Charlotte Decks and Porches). In the near future, I plan to have Jeff come out to my house to build a pergola. I expect to write another positive review once that has been completed.

We are thrilled with our new deck! Jeff was easy to work with on the business side. He provided a thorough estimate and worked with us to schedule the job. This was not easy as this was one of the rainiest summers in a long time. Colby built a deck that is beautiful, sturdy, and safe. He is truly a craftsman who takes pride in his work! We contacted Charlotte Deck and Porches to get an estimate on having our deck removed and replaced. Jeff was extremely professional, scheduled a time to be at house to look at deck was prompt and courteous. He provided written information via email and always provided answers to any of our questions. Although for this project we did not choose to utilze them, we wanted to provide this review as we had no complaints at all with Charlotte Deck and Porches.

Jeff came out and spoke to me to find out what I wanted to accomplish with the deck. He email me a drawing of a proposed deck along with quote to remove the old deck and build a new larger deck. After receiving the quote I contacted Jeff to make an adjustment to the stairs and landing layout (deck is on the second floor of the home) and he was extremely cooperative and willing to make changes. We agreed on everything, I signed a contract, and Jeff got the building permit, and 2 days later Coby started on the removal of the old deck. Clean and neat with little noise and most of all with no damage to the house or surrounding trees and shrubs. The lumber was delivered the first day and on day 2 the construction of the new deck began. Once again Coby worked efficiently and was very informative as he arrived daily as to what his plans to complete for the day and again recap at the end of the day as to what was accomplished and what would be done the following day. The area around the deck was clean and neat at the end of the day every day. The craftsmanship was without equal. Jeff arranged for all inspections and the final inspection has been completed. The deck looks great and we could not be happier with the results. Entire process took about 8 days in total. All of the neighbors and friends who have been on the deck have commented on how well the deck is built, solid and all joints and corners match perfectly. I am totally satisfied with the results and if you have deck or porch work needing to be done you cannot do better than Charlotte Decks And Porches.

Jeff did the job personally as working with Ipe is very time consuming and needs special attention (all cut ends need to be sealed). Jeff was patient with us as we worked through the project planning stage and met us at another Ipe project he completed in the area. Ipe is much more expensive than #1 treated yellow pine and Jeff responded to dozens of questions we had on where to use the wood for the best look and service life. in the end we went with black steel railings under Ipe hand rails with 4X4 Ipe posts. Then wrapped the outer bands and stairwell with Ipe. Jeff's carpentry skills are top notch, we were amazed at the detail work he did on the stairs. The deck passed both inspections with no issues. We would hire him back for any carpentry work needed in the future. In terms of communication, Jeff kept us aware of the schedule, any delays were phoned or emailed to us (due to rain or material delivery). We had the deck completed in about 1 month from the initial contract signing which we felt was good being the busy season for these projects.

There were absolutely no issues. Jeff said they would arrive on Monday to dig the post holes, inspector would be out the following day and they would be back the day after to build the deck. His crew member came back out on Wednesday and finished building the deck by end of day Thursday. The inspector came out Monday for the final inspection. Everything went as planned. From start to finish the project took exactly one week to complete. Jeff and his crew were very courteous and professional throughout.

I purchased a new house that had an unsafe, unstable and unsightly entrance deck. It was critical that it be replaced before my move-in date, but after other pre-move-in services were performed, so I had a very narrow window of opportunity, just a matter of days. I got a few bids on the job and selected based on price, availability and my confidence in his experience. Jeff was an easy win on all fronts, but especially on the confidence. I felt I was in good hands, his pricing was clear and fair and I caught him early enough in the year to beat his busy season and get the perfect window of availability. He communicated effectively and clearly, partnered with me on designing a shape that would work well, asked great questions and completed the work on time. It looks great, and I plan to hire Jeff again very soon!

Jeff was very thorough while doing his estimate and was prompt/courteous throughout. Jeff's attention to detail and his reasonable pricing made us comfortable enough to move forward with him. Jeff and Coby did a magnificent job building our pergola. Materials were delivered two days before they started. The project took about 8 hours from start to finish (interrupted by rain the first day). We are delighted with the service and the finished project and would recommend this company.

He provided a detailed estimate and drawings in a timely manner. I did select a different contractor, but would have felt very comfortable with Jeff doing the job.

Jeff came out and did an estimate for us, when he said he would. He arrived promptly, was very courteous and listened to what I envisioned for the space. I showed him a picture of a pergola that I had in mind, and we set up a date as to when the work could be completed. His explanation of the procedure was explained in detail and I felt confident that he could perform the dream I had in mind for that corner of our yard. He arrived promptly at the designated date and his team was right behind him. They were left to dig the holes needed to place the four posts of the pergola. Jeff soon arrived with the wood and other supplies. I was not aware as to the type of hook I would need to attach the swing, and Jeff volunteered to go back out to purchase the needed hooks so that the job could be complete. The team worked until the job was complete, did a great job and fininshed early in the afteroon. It was exactly what I pictured and now we have installed the swing and flagstone beneath the pergola. It looks great. They did a great job - I would definitely use the company again!

. Overall the project went very well. It took a little longer than we thought it would due to weather and other jobs Jeff had in progress but the finished project looks great. Jeff and his crew cleaned up each evening and did minimal damage to the landscape area around the deck. Jeff was easy to work with and always seemed to have the customer in mind. If we suggested a different approach, he listened and helped us make the best decision. I like having the same person who gave the estimate be involved in peforming the work. That avoids arguments over what was said during the estimate if there is an issue, etc. There was also no language barrier that can arise these days when a project manager gives an estimate and different people show up to perform the work who were not involved during the bidding process. We are very pleased with the quality of the work and the end result. Everyone who has seen the addition has great things to say. We highly recommend Charlotte Decks for this type work..

Jeff provided an accurate estimate (which he stuck to) and completed all of the work in a timely manner, not sacrificing quality. Out of all the work we've had done on our house, Jeff's was the most detailed and finished, providing quality above and beyond what we expected. He was also flexible with our preferences, easily shifting plans to meet our needs as the job progressed. Jeff and his team did an outstanding job and did exactly what they committed to do, when they commited to do it. Their craftsmanship is outstanding. The key to the job was that we wanted to be able to use our screened in porch more during the cooler times of the spring and fall yet didn't want to spend the money for glass panels. Jeff made a recommendation to use a new and innovative panel that we love. The room is warm on cooler mornings and the panels slide up or down to allow air flow at other times. We couldn't be happier and would not hesistate to recommend Jeff for any job he feels he is capable of doing.

Jeff was great to work with. He was professional and very helpful with the design of the porch. When our HOA came back asking for modifications, he worked with his engineer to ensure we were still able to achieve the look we wanted. The project took 4 days, only due to the fact that they needed to wait one day on the building inspector. I would recommend Jeff to anyone looking to work with an honest, knowledgeable company.

Jeff was great the entire process, he patiently worked with my wife and I to come up with exactly what we wanted in an outdoor living area. He put together accurate renditions for us so we could wrap our brain around the finished product. He was informative the entire time, keeping me up to speed on permits, etc. which can be a challenge in our historic community. He did not go a dime over budget and stayed in line with the time frame he laid out from the onset.
