Description of Work: The owner Byron showed up for the estimate. Said it would take 3 days or maybe 4, took 5 and it was a terrible job. The job was to strip the wallpaper off in the 2 bathrooms and paint them. The house (we just bought it) had dull popcorn ceilings. He was to paint them, the whole inside ceilings. He stripped the wallpaper off was able to finish the second bath in 3 days, took him 5 to finsh the master bath. He was supposed to spray paint the ceilings. Not only did he get the paint on the ceiling but on the wall also. Especially on walls we weren't going to paint yet. I did not see him onsite after the estimate until the 4th day. He called me on the second days asking for half of the money because of something about being overdrawn on account of another job. This should have been a red flag. On the fourth day when we told him about the screw up of paint getting on the walls from the spraying he actually came in and touched up the kitchen wall. His helper had to get the paint matched up and painted them the next day. He did a decent job in the second bath. I wished I had looked at the master a little closer before I had payed him. We were in a little hurry though and we didn't look as well as we should have. Terrible job. One window sill is not painted, all the trim and cabinets were not painted. Last of all I had to put all the light fixtures back up, because he helper didn't know how and I couldn't reach him. I will never use him again and I will tell others not to use him, and if he ask me to give him a reference that would be a mistake.

Description of Work: Byron York and his team painted the entire interior of our 2800 sq. foot house, the exterior doors and shutters, and our patio furniture. They were punctual, professional, and experienced and even went beyond the usual parameters of the job to make sure that I was satisfied as a customer.

Description of Work: Byron York Painting came out to paint the exterior of my home. I have a brick home and he repaired some wood rot, painted the trim, the pergola, and the gate.

Description of Work: I hired Byron to complete a comprehensive interior paint job of my newly acquired, 1150 square foot Myers Park condo, built in 1938. I don't think the place has ever received a decent paint job over the past 70 years. The popcorn ceilings were cracked and falling down; wallpaper was coming unglued; all the windows had been stuck shut for years from careless painters who had slapped coats of paint on everything, including the hardware; and the doors and trim looked like alligator skin from poor preparation.

Description of Work: Byron was nearly a thousand dollars under other estimates we received, but decided that it was worth a shot based on other reviews here on Angie's List. We painted the interior of our condo in Uptown Charlotte with one coat, only to up our re-sell value and capture some much needed depth with 11 ft. ceilings. Since our condo is new, only the walls were painted with ceilings and trim remaining untouched.

Description of Work: I MET BYRON LAST YEAR AFTER WE BOUGHT A HOUSE IN DILWORTH THAT REQUIRED A BIT OF RENOVATION BEFORE WE MOVED IN. BYRON WAS A SUBCONTRACTOR FOR OUR BUILDER (WHO USES NOTHING BUT HIGH QUALITY SUBCONTRACTORS). BYRON'S WORK WAS SO GOOD THAT I CALLED HIM THIS YEAR TO PAINT THE OUTSIDE OF MY HOUSE AND A SIGNIFICANT LIST OF SMALL JOBS INSIDE THE HOUSE.
