It was a TRUE pleasure to work with Stewart! He and his crew were fantastic to work with!! I have only the best things to say about Stewart... How fast he responds, how he answers all questions, how he can quickly problem solve, how the work is nothing but quality, how he worked with me to build a beautiful and one-of-a-kind pool!!!! Anyone who sees the pool, and swims in it, is just in awe! We are so very thankful that we had the opportunity to work with Stewart and Backyard Retreats and we would highly recommend his Company to anyone looking to build a quality pool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i can not say enough good things about Backyard Retreats Pool and Spa!!! The owner, Stuart McCall ,was amazing. i have done MANY home improvements to my house and i can tell you that building a pool is a huge project that did not feel like a huge project because of Stuart. Stuart from the beginning ran things impeccably. Things were done when they said they were going to be done and it was all done ON TIME!! Stuart's pool comapany is the only company i will reccomend to build a pool. Even outside contractors that were doing other projects on my house could not believe how well it was all cordinated an executed. I truly have an amazing Backyard Retreat!!!

My wife & I did a lot of research and had 3 reputable pool companies quote our project. After a lot of investigation, pool inspections and calling references, we selected Backyard Retreats (BYR) to install our pool/spa. Without question Stuart at BYR delivered everything he promised in a quality way and on schedule. There were a couple of items that ended up costing more than he projected but he honored the contract and never asked for additional money. I have worked with many companies that tell you what you want to hear but never deliver what they promise. This was never the case with BYR and rest assured Stuart will always follow through with what he says. We have had the pool for 2 yrs now with minimal problems and when we have had an issue, Stuart has promptly resolved it. I would highly recommend this company to anyone that is looking for a pool/spa with quality workmanship and competitive pricing.

Backyard Retreats came in and did a fantastic job of helping design a pool that was perfect for our backyard. The construction went smoothly, and we are extremely happy with our pool after 2 years. The "B" on responsiveness I'd make an A- if I could. The pool was finished just before Thanksgiving, and as new pool owners we had a number of questions through the holiday season. The responsiveness to those questions was (understandably) somewhat delayed due to the time of year.

Do - build a budget for your pool ... turns out pool is only 60% of the investment I made in decking, landscaping, etc... Do - build a big pool deck ... ours is 1600 square feet and we can fill it up but it still does not feel crowded, a big plus. Do - opt for a swim ledge ... we spend a lot of time in that area. Do - plan for it to take 3 months ... maybe you can do it faster, BUT landscaping and decking and just general stuff took more time than I anticipated. The May 1 date I used in the "Service Date" field is approximately when we finished all of the big items associated with the backyard project. Do - invest in a water feature that makes noise ... very relaxing to hang out by the pool and listen to the waterfalls, particularly after the kids go to bed ... Don't - underestimate the cost ... see my first do.

They were very nice and professional. I contacted them because of their rating on Angie’s List and I thought they were very professional and on time. They were prepared to answer questions.

They were very professional and there was no pressure. They answered the questions we had and they worked within our budget. They made contact with a contractor to add landscaping. I would give them an A+ if I could.

I really liked them but it just boiled down to price. They went out of their way, they were extremely conscious of what I was looking for, and they were easy to work with.

The project went great and Stuart and his crew stayed on schedule, were very responsive - and delivered on every promise. Stuart, the owner, was on the jobsite EVERY DAY making sure that quality was maintained. We were very particular in what we wanted in our pool design, in the paver layout, and with the landscaping - Backyard Retreats did a great job keeping us happy from start to finish. We feel like we have a resort in our backyard now.

To sum it up, working with Backyard Retreats was fabulous. We heard about them through a friend, but did our homework by getting quotes from several other contractors. From the first visit, we felt comfortable with their team and confident that they would do a great job for us. Both Stuart and Carla went above and beyond answering all of our questions (and we had a lot of them). They were polite and professional about their competition and answered all of our objections right away. They used top notch products, equipment and labor to create an oasis in our back yard. I would highly recommend them to anyone. With Backyard Retreats, we didn't feel like just another client, we felt like a personal friend. We liked the personal touch that was present throughout the entire project! I would definitely hire them again.

Had a very odd experience asking for a proposal. They came out and spent an evening with us discussing our ideas. They arrived later than we were expecting, but regardless it was a great first meeting and we were very excited to work with them. We left the meeting looking forward to a deeper discussion around an actual proposal, which they committed to giving the next week. Instead, the next week we got a very terse email that they had too much work on the other side of town, we were too far away, and they would not be bidding on the work. Would have appreciated knowing that up front and not wasting our time in the initial discussion. Just a very odd swing from excited about our project to dumping us over email.

I have never had such a positive experience with any contractor or subcontractor to date. And I have used many. Stuart completed a 16 x 30 pool as promised in 28 days. His attentiveness is not done when the water goes in. He is keeping in touch for the first month in order to make sure that the Pebble Tec is curing properly and the water is correct.

Stuart McCall came to the house on time and we discussed the options for replacing the brick coping around the pool and replacing existing stonework from the cabana columns and finishing them off. With his help and suggestions we decided on irregular bluestone to tie in better with the stonework of the waterfall feature of the pool. Work started on time and in short order the brick coping was removed and hauled away. The stonemasons came and custom cut and placed the stone to follow the curves of the pool. Next they worked on removing the stonework on the columns, replacing with stone veneer and caping the tops. Stuart kept us informed and updated during the whole process, his crew did an excellent job and the quality shows. We are extremely pleased with the results.

They were fantastic and conscientious. They were flexible in meeting my specific requirements. The pool was finished ahead of schedule. They charged what we were budgeting for. The work was done absolutely perfect. The pool looks beautiful.
