+ -1 moreIt was great. I have used Scott before and he is prompt, courteous, ethical and charges very reasonable rates. I would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone needing appliance repair.
Description of Work: My icemaker stopped making ice. I called Scott and since it wasn't an emergency I told him coming the next day would be fine. He promptly called me the next morning telling me when he would be there and then called just before he came. He found the problem (a stuck ice cube) and adjusted water flow. He said he would check back in a few days to ensure problem was resolved unless I called earlier. He showed up today..after calling.. and everything was fine.

What was very nice is that he did not mark up the part outrageously as other appliance repair guys have done. I will definitely call him again!

+ 0 moreI called the center and got same day response before 12 noon. He examined the oven and diagnosed the igniter as the problem. He also looked into the failing electrical pilot on the stove top. He said it was an expensive and unnecessary repair. he replaced the igniter within an hour and the oven was working great. he quoted about 110-125 and came in at 111.46, so spot on.

+ -1 moreScott was willing to take the time to show me the parts, explain how they work, and describe what was going on. I like to learn as much as possible but for him doing this means his job takes longer. He was so friendly about it. I have already recommended him to several friends.
Description of Work: MY refrigerator was very loud when in the chilling cycle and seemed to be 'on' more than usual. Scott came out to look at it, figured out the problem right away and then took a little while to decide if the motor needed replacing as he did not want me to spend money needlessly. Luckily he tried it half a dozen time, at which point it became clear that it needed replacing . He had brought the right part and did the job in no time flat.

+ -1 moreContacted Scott by phone and he scheduled a visit the same day. I had to postpone at the last minute to the next day and he was very accommodating and arrived on time the next morning. The part was not available on the first visit but was back promptly the next day. I would not hesistate to call again.

+ -1 moreThe first time I called Scott, he was able to get to our house the next day to see what the problem was. On inspection, he determined that the ice maker needed to be replaced. He called a few days later with an exact price which included the part and installation. Once I gave him the go ahead, he ordered the part and then called me when it came in. We then arranged an install time. The whole process took a week. In addition to installing the icemaker, he also got the water line "tacked up" and out of site which was above and beyond -- it had been on the floor of my house for years! Scott was responive, on time, and communicated the necessary details in a timely fashion. I would definately use him again!

+ -1 moreOutstanding service and highly recommended - called service number and left a message regarding a leaking refrigerator issue with the service provider and received a return phone call within five minutes. Scott requested information regarding the nature of the leak and the model type for the refrigerator. Given the model type, Scott provided instructions regarding the probable cause for the water that was leaking from the freezer compartment. Followed said instructions and was able to clear the drain blockage - 36 hrs and counting with no observed water collecting on the floor. Called back to advise Scott of the repair status and made arrangements to make an appointment for a service call should the leak return. This refrigerator is 15 years old and I have been giving serious consideration towards purchasing another one - looks like this purchase can be delayed a little while longer.

I called Scott on Friday afternoon and he inidcated that he could come over that evening if it was an emergency or the following morning if it could wait as he still had several appointments for that afternoon. I let him know that the following day was fine. Scott arrived at the aggreed upon time, quickly diagnosed the problem and made the repair. In addition, I mentioned that our dryer was making a very lond banging noise while running and asked if he could take a look at that as well. Onced again, diagnosed the problem very quickly and made the repair. Great experience from start to finish - highly recommend.

+ -1 moreOur experience with Scott was great. He was so helpful, professional, honest, punctual and just a nice person. We will definitely use him again. In fact, I will refer him to my friends.
Description of Work: I called Scott b/c my dryer was giving off a funny odor. He called me back the same day and came out the next day. He stayed at my place for at least an hour trying to figure out the problem. But the machine was working fine. He didn;t charge me and told me to just give him a call when the machine acted up again. Later, I discovered that it was actually the washer that had problems. Scott came back and worked on the washer and discovered that something was wrong with the electrical panel. He said he;d look into ordering th part, etc then give me a call. He called within a few days and gave me the option of having him order the part and service my machine which would probably cost around $400 or told me that I may just want to keep using the machine and then eventually put that $400 towards a new machine. We've decided not to go ahead with the repair and eventually purchase a new machine. He said that he'd just charge us the service fee for his work.

Description of Work: My dryer was making a loud whistling noise when I turned it on so I knew something was wrong. I called Scott and he was able to come to my house the next day. He arrived on time. He determined my dryer needed a few new parts so he left my house to go buy them. He was back within 30 minutes to finish the job.

+ -1 moreThe dishes on the top rack were not getting clean. I went on-line and ordered some easily replaced parts that I thought might fix it and it didn't. The next level of repair required a Pro. We had used Scott before and didn't hesitate to call him. He came over on a Saturday and diagnosed the problem and gave us a couple of choices for repair. We could either replace a number of parts and hope that everything went back together and didn't leak or just replace the motor and pump assembly. It was only $50 more to replace the entire assembly. I checked the parts prices on line and his part prices were as good as any on line and his labor rate was fair. On Sunday he was able to get the parts and he showed up at 7:30am on Monday to fit into my schedule. The glowing praise of his personality and professionalism are well deserved. I'm surprised that a reasonably priced reliable service Pro isn't booked a month in advance.

He thought he knew what the problem was (based on my description) but he offered to come out at no charge to take a look at the dryer and give me an estimate. He was very considerate of my schedule and gave me several different time options for the estimate and the repair. Once I decided to go ahead with the work, he was able to schedule the repair within a day or so. He is a very nice person who seems to really know what he is doing.
Description of Work: Scott replaced the motor and belt in my dryer. It had been squealing and stopping mid-cycle.

When I called him, he promptly returned my phone call and came out exactly when I needed him to. He was able to fix the problem rather than telling us to go new a new dryer and I am extremely grateful! $210 might seem like a lot to spend but compared to a brand new one, we got a deal! The dryer is working perfectly and I would highly recommend Scott at Appliance Care Center to anyone who needs to get an appliance fix. He was professional, courteous, prompt and helpful!
Description of Work: Our very old dryer was making horrible noises - squeaking like the belt was loose, violently shaking, etc. It was also turning itself off mid-way through the cycle. Scott said we needed a new motor. He replaced the motor and the dryer is working perfectly!

+ -1 moreScott came out within a day or two of my call and diagnosed the problem after about 30 minutes. He didn't initially look at the motor because, as mentioned, the fridge is only 3 years old. He charged me $45.50 for the initial service call and said if I called him back to install the part, that amount would go towards the final bill. It took about two weeks for the part to come in. When I called Scott, he was out within a day or two again. He installed the new motor and the fridge started running smoothly again. It only took him about 10-15 minutes and he ended up not charging me for any additional time/labor.
Description of Work: The refrigerator we keep in our garage had stopped cooling effectively. The freezer was still working, and the fridge portion was cool, but not cold enough to keep perishables stored in. Scott came out and discovered that the evaporator motor was dead. He was surprised, because the fridge is only a few years old and he said that major component shouldn't have blown out so soon. I complained to the manufacturer (Roper) and was given a 50% discount on the part, so I ordered it through them. However, with shipping (which they charged me even though I asked for it to be included) it wasn't much cheaper to order through them than to have Scott get it.

Description of Work: Scott called me back and came out the next day to take a look at my dryer. After spending almost 3 hours at my house he came to the conclusion that the dryer was fine, the problem was with the electricity. He did not charge us one penny, not even a service charge! Definately would use again.

Called Scott on Friday morning and he was able to come to my house on Friday afternoon; he called me on his way here to ensure that I was home, which I greatly appreciated as I was working and had to pick up my children in the morning. Scott examined the refrigerator and suspected a defective thermostat; he defrosted the coils and came back on Monday to see how the coils looked. Frost had built up in a manner consistent with a defective thermostat so he replaced it. Scott was very competent, his rates were reasonable and he even wiped out my freezer for me! I will definitely call him for ANY large applicance repairs in the future.

+ -1 moreFirst of all, this was the second time that I have called Scott (Appliance Care Center) and I have been nothing but impressed with his professionalism, punctuality and quality of work. He is a hard working man that backs up his name and work. Scott quickly diagnosed the wash machine problem and proceeded to fix. Within 20 minutes he replaced the part, clean up after himself and prepared a bill that was more than reasonable for the service. if you have any future appliance or air duct problems, look no further.
Description of Work: Wash machine was broke and water would not drain from basin during rinse cycle. Scott knew exactly what to replace and completed the job in a very timely manner.
