This technician from Andy Lewis indicated that my cooling system has a few problems, but since they are minor, I am hoping I can get another summer season out of the AC unit. But he mentioned some things that I had suspected and were in need of correction. This will be taken care of when I do go forward with the AC system upgrade, hopefully next year. I will plan on using this firm to do the upgrade. They are truly competent and very professional. Paul Halas,

Had issue with HVAC - Heater not working. So, called Andy Lewis on Sunday expecting answering message. However a person picked up the phone and noted down complaint details. She mentioned someone will call in few minutes and the technician called up , provided estimated arrival time 2 hrs and was at home in given timeframe. Wore cover to shoes while stepping in home, was professional and spent 1-2 hrs identifying the issue and repairing it. Advised on future maintenance service contract offerings and why it was needed etc. Would recommend them. I have not used any other HVAC service apart from Andy Lewis, but I'm sure they are one of top few.

I called a heating company to come see why my furnace wasn't heating my house. The technician came 1 hour late, spent 10 minutes in the attic and started to tell me that one of the motors that make the furnace come "ON" was bad and I had to pay $735.00. For the time he spent looking at my furnace made me doubt his expertise. So, I decided to get a second opinion (free) from Andy Lewis Heating & Air that was referred to me from a co-worker who had a very good experience with them. The technician came on time and found out that my heat wasn't working just because the flame sensor was dirty and nothing was wrong with the motor or any other part of the system. The tech from Andy Lewis was very thorough and explained everything in a way that I as a woman could understand. He cleaned that sensor and I enrolled in a yearly maintenance contract for almost the same price of the repair. I am very happy I called them. More importantly, I now have a trustworthy company servicing my equipment.

Was called about 30 min before appointment to let us know tech was on the way.He arrived before time and went to work checking unit and controls.Found 1 issue and talked to me about it , I informed tech to replace the part in question ( my call no pressure by tech to make sale) The tech went above and beyond what he had to do when answering my wifes questions when she asked him about the unit and its workings. Made sure everything was working and all questions were answered before doing his paperwork. Was impressed by the professionalism of the tech and the quality of the work done. All I can say is if my heating & ac has to be looked at Andy Lewis will have my business!!! Its wonderful to find this kind of quality in todays world!!!

The technician actually called a little early to see if he could come early. That worked out fine for me. He arrived promptly and as usual was very courteous and professional. He was neat and clean and removed his shoes before entering. He took his time checking out my system, did not 'rush' through, but seemed very thorough. He provided a written report and discussed his concerns for the age of my system (10 years old) and possible future issues. I felt this was appropriate. But, he did not pressure me or try to sell me a new system. I have been a customer for 3 or 4 years and have always had good service from them.

Was not happy with Andy Lewis. Installation required cutting new (larger) access port in ceiling to accommodate new furnace. Although the installation for the AC and furnace was completed as scheduled, the carpentry work required for the access port was not completed for 9 weeks (we would schedule a carpenter to come out and he would then not show up - no courtesy call, no explanation - went through this with 3 different carpenters). Andy Lewis also charged the remaining balance to my credit card 9 weeks before the work was completed (I had to insist on reversing the charge). Very poor office administration and scheduling (I had to initiate ALL communication), and when I tried to escalate the matter, management was totally non-responsive. Will not use Andy Lewis again. Went with Morris Jenkins when the downstairs AC subsequently failed. Was very satisfied with Morris Jenkins.

We purchased an annual service contract from Andy Lewis H & A when we bought our townhome in Ballantyne. Every single year I have to call to set up the appointments for the inspections myself. When it is time for renewal, no one ever calls you, you just receive a notice in the mail that looks like an ad, not a renewal contract. I have complained about this every year. Today I called and got the same person with poor customer service skills I always get. She said that I never called them back for my spring inspection and they called me twice and left messages. They did not bec I always answer my messages. I never delete messages until they are answered. I am exasperated with the customer service in the office from this company. We have not had any problems with the workers but they are losing our business because of the snappy, rude attitudes of their office staff. I have already contracted with a highly rated Angie's List company for next year. Life is too short to put up with poor customer service and especially in this economy. I am sorry I did it for the last 6 years! By the way, they replaced both of our units in the last 6 years so if this is how they treat customers who spend money with them, how would they treat others? I would certainly not recommend a service contract with Andy Lewis Heating and Air.

Tyler is very knowledgable and professional - he explained my options for keeping this unit in good working order and while we discussed the eventual repalcement of this 9 year old unit, he did not try to push my decision on that. I'm very satisfied with Andy Lewis - they responded quickly, fixed the problem and their price was fair. I will continue to use them to service my HVAC system and plan to have them replace the system when the time comes.
Description of Work: The A/C unit went out evening of 7/4 - called Andy Lewis first thing in the morning on 7/5. Tyler arrived at about 11:00 am - he quickly and methodically diagnosed a failed capacitor. He also replaced a marginal cap on the blower, topped off the R22 and replaced the air filter. We were back up and running in about an hour.

, The install team of two men arrived on the date and time as scheduled and removed the old system, then modified the duct work and installed the furnace and heat pump, taking a full day. They were very courteous and professional, and they were careful to clean up as they went and at the end, so that there was no mess in the house or yard. Tim called to check on the progress, and the following day he came out to fine tune the system and ensure that every thing was done to his specifications. He is perfectionist and insists on quality from his employees, and he enjoys teaching and coaching employees to reach near his level of expertise. He noticed that the pull-down stairs to the attic were not quite re-installed to fit well and sent a carpenter out to correct this. Several days later we had a problem with the temperature control, and a technician was sent out right away to correct the problem. He, too, was very professional and explained what had gone wrong, why, and how it had been corrected (an installation meter malfunction). We have been very comfortable with the new system; all the rooms are balanced, and the new equipment is very quiet. The variable speed heating and cooling is fantastic; we rarely notice the system is running. We can't speak highly enough about the Andy Lewis team. They were all neat and clean, courteous and pleasant, and respectful of our property. We believe we received a very fair price, based on estimates others have received for similar work, and we were happy to have a brand like Lennox. The new technology should make a significant difference in our comfort and what we pay for fuel. A nice touch at the end was that the company searches out all possible rebates for the systems they install. Usually the high rebates quoted are for top of the line equipment with all the bells and whistles, which we didn't need. However, they found two rebates that reduced our already fair price by $750! Give this company a chance if your are installing equipment, and be sure to ask for Tim Driggers. You won't be disappointed.
Description of Work: Installation of new HVAC system, replacing what was originally installed when house was built 11 years ago; contacted Andy Lewis for a quote on recommendation of neighbor who was pleased with recent installation in her home. My situation was a little complicated due to the layout of my fairly large ranch-style home. The heating and air-conditioning had never been balanced correctly in all rooms and was noisy. We met with Tim Driggers, the Service Manager, and spent several hours looking at our needs as well as alternatives. With his help and knowledge we decided on a new dual-fuel system using a gas furnace and electric heat pump combination by Lennox. We asked for a moderately priced system that was moderately efficient, and this new technology for residential use seemed to be a great idea. Tim was fantastic to work with. He is very well educated in technology and took obvious pleasure in figuring out a system for our home that would meet all of our needs. He redesigned part of the main trunk line to the air handler to increased air flow all over the house. He replaced the gas furnace in the attic, added an electrostatically charged air filter; improved the duct work as needed, including insulation and sealant, installed a heat pump outside, and installed a new digital thermostat.

I called Andy Lewis for their 21-point Heating System inspection. I have two units, and the price was to be $89 per unit. The technician arrived on time, and proceeded to inspect the units. Very soon, however, the technician wanted to show me some problems with the units. He proceeded to point out cracked heat exhanger problems and cracked evaporator coils on the AC units. He also warned me that carbon monoxide was likely leaking into the house. I pointed out to him that I had two "working" carbon monoxide detectors in the house. He took one out to his truck to test with the truck's exhaust, and confirmed that it was in fact working. Neither of these detectors had ever produced a carbon monoxide signal. He proceeded to use a special CO detection device, to try to get a reading at the air vent, but nothing appeared. He also took the liberty of writing, with large red markers, on the outside of the units that there were problems with certain parts of the HVAC system, which would of course present problems if I wanted to sell my home. He did not do the service he was called to do. Instead, he presented me with prices for replacing the heat exchangers and prices for replacing the entire units, reminding me that I could still get a tax credit if I took action before Dec 31. He wrote on the work order that he did not do the tune-ups because of the problems, butI paid him $89. I then called the contractor that originally installed the equipment in the house when it was new, 7 years earlier. That contractor performed a second opinion, and found no problems with the heat exchangers. That contractor also performed the tune-ups. The Andy Lewis technician also demanded that I sign a "waiver" that I had been warned about the carbon monoxide problems, which I did sign, because if I didn't sign it, the technician said he could "shut the systems down." I felt like I had been victimized by scare tactics. Of course, I would never call Andy Lewis again.

The technician from Andy Lewis was not going to service my unit and only wanted to do a complete replacement of Zone II. I had a coupon and I was charged a fee to clean and service Zone I, I was charged a fee for the tech to come out to my home.
Description of Work: I called them to service two a/c units in my home. Zone II needed sealant and refrigerant. Andy Lewis told me that I needed a complete unit and was going to charge me between $7,000 to $10,000 to replace it. Zone I only needed to be cleaned.

Response from Andy Lewis Heating Air Conditioning
Customer had called in for the spring A/C tune up special for $59.00 (each system) When the customer called us for service work the customer service representative for our company explained that our $59.00 tune up is for systems that are working fine, and just need inspected and cleaned. The $59.00 tune up is for one system only. If there is an issue with the system the customer service representative is also trained to explain to the customer that there will be a $45.00 diag. charge, and a $39.00 trip/travel charge. If system is broke or not working correctly we advise not doing a Tune Up on that system. A Tune-Up does not address a refg related issue, when there is a leak. Before the service dept. sends any techs out to a call this information is verified thru the office and customer. Customer has two systems and only request a tune up on one system. That system they requested the tune up on was not functioning properly when tech arrived at call. Customer approved the system to be diagnosis. Tech explained to customer that work needed to be performed to ensure this system would not have anymore refg issues, the customer declined repair. The customer wanted the tune up only. The tech informed the customer that the system was low on Freon, and that there was a refg. leak. The Tech recommended that the customer should replace their system due to age, efficiency, and repair cost, if they declined repairs, Customer had us come out for the $39.00 trip travel charge, the $45.00 diag. which total $84.00.... we performed the tune-up at their request for the additional $59.00, which total $143.00 for the complete call and signed off on it for approval. We have some customer that call in for a tune up when their system are broke. This is what happened with this customer. Tune Up are to keep systems running at their peak efficiency, this is an inspection and cleaning of the system. This does not include repairs, or diagnosis work on a broken system. Copy of all invoices are at our office, and that customer signed off for this work to be performed. Thanks Chuck Pesta Service Manager

We called the company with a brief description of our problem. The upstairs air conditioner was not working. The owner (or at least that is how he represented himself) came out and reviewed the situation. We agreed in principal, based on his advised to only replace the air conditioning. He was to get pricing to us over the weekend and did; however, it referenced a different manufacturer's equipment and gave us a price on a heat and air system when we agreed to only replace the air. In addition he sent over two different quotes. We called and explained our confusion and he eventually came back with a quote we could live with and we signed off on the work order. At the agreed upon time the man came out to install the equipment and they still had it wrong. The technician understood the problem and helped get the proper equipment and did the installation. We have been pleased with the system...but then we have no real way to judge the quality of the job done just that the upstairs is appropriately cool and we have no reason to question the job. Time will tell (and so will I).
Description of Work: The company installed a new air condition system for our upstairs. They came out and advised us as to what was needed priced it ( a story in itself) and then installed it.

We apologize for any confusion, we rely very heavily on customer referrals. We met with the customer and accessed their needs and recommended replacing the AC and coil. The furnace was still in good shape. We use a professionally prepared electronic form and input a detailed list of equipment, warranty and specific work to be completed. We originally emailed the wrong file. (This was our oversight and is normally caught when we review the quote before it is emailed to the customer). The work was done on time, with top-notch quality. We stand behind our installation 100% and the quote included a 1-year maintenance program, which covers both the 2nd floor system we installed, and the existing 1st floor system. We also did a follow up call, to make sure everything was still going well 2 months later. He said the system was performing well and had no issues. We encourage comments from our customers and perform customer feed back surveys regularly, this feedback allows Andy Lewis Heating and Air to expand on our strengths and continue to improve.
