• On 7/18/17 two young men came to my house to run gas lines under my house so that the gas meter could be moved by Virginia Natural Gas. When they got to my back yard I was asked by one of them if I had family in the area that I could take showers at as I would have no gas when they left. I was also told after the city inspector cleared the work and Virginia Natural Gas moved the meter they would have to come back out and turn on the gas to the house and light the hot water heater off. I went into my house and called Virginia Natural Gas who said I should have gas and if I was not going to have gas to have the American Mechanical person to call them. I went back out with the phone number and name of the Virginia Natural Gas person and now there were three guys there. The extra one brought a drill to drill through the brick on the house. The same one who originally said there would be no gas was standing up and asked me if “I had homeowners insurance and was it paid up to date as while he was crawling under the house he hit his knee and EMS was on the way after all prosthesis cost over $10,000”. I advised if he was injured that should be workers comp but it was obvious that he was not injured as he was standing and moving some. I then figured if he was joking about his knee he was also joking about my needing to take showers at a family members house and did not give him the phone number for the Virginia Natural Gas person that was in my hand. When he was finished he never told me he was done as he was talking to my son-in-law outside. My son-in-law came in and said they were leaving and we would have no gas. I told my son-in-law to catch them as they were already in their truck and since I have to use a cane he could move faster than I could. My son in law gave him the phone number for Virginia Natural Gas (I was at the front porch). The two young men never gave me a card with their names. • American Mechanical confirmed on another date that they would have to come out after Virginia Natural Gas ran new lines & moved the meter to turn on the gas to my hot water heater. • On 7/26/17 the city did their final inspection and things passed. I call American Mechanical to tell them and was told no they did not turn on the gas to my house nor turn on the hot water that Virginia Natural Gas did that. They gave me the number for Virginia Natural Gas I called them and was told they did not have the final inspection from the city. I called the city and was told that when American Mechanical sent the original request for inspection it was listed as no release needed so they did not send a release to Virginia Natural Gas. They reopened the ticket and sent out someone to turn on the gas and start the hot water heater. However the gas was reaching the meter but there was a block in the line which did not let the gas get to the hot water heater. So Virginia Natural Gas had to turn the gas off again. Then Scott

This was a complete heating and central air conditioning replacement. I had lesser estimates, but just had an easy and comfortable feeling hiring American Mechanical and was thrilled with the outcome of their work.

Most pleasant experience I've had thus far with a plumbing co. technician was very professional ,knew what he was doing and resolved my issues in less than 1 1/2 hours. The customer service was off the chain.....would highly recommend to anyone that need their services.

If I'd known how expensive and what a hassle converting from electric to gas would be, I wouldn't have even started the project. Now that I've finally got my gas range installed in my kitchen, and the ordeal is over, the only saving grace of the experience is that I've found a plumbing/electrical company that I can count on to be honest and professional. Everyone I dealt with from American Mechanical, from the office personnel, the fellow who came out to give me the estimate, the fellows that installed the gas lines from the meter to the kitchen and laundry room (for future gas dryer), the electrician who converted the 220 to 110 and the guys who finally installed the stove, made sure that my needs were met and that everything was explained to me so I could understand what was going on. They also worked around my schedule! I will use them again, and I will recommend them to everyone I know.

We highly recommend American Mechanical. We hired them to hook our home up to the city's sewer system. We began by requesting price quotes from other plumbing companies, many of whom where non-responsive, or no-showed for scheduled appointments, or quoted us outrageous prices. Joel from American Mechanical provided us with a fair and reasonable price quote and carefully explained what the project would would entail so we would know what to expect once the work began. The plumber who did the work (Rich P.) was a very hard-worker and went above and beyond the call of duty to get the job done. Overall, we were extraordinarily pleased with American Mechanical and we highly recommend them. We still can't believe how much higher the price quotes were from the other plumbing companies (one well-known nationwide plumbing company's price quote was more than 300% higher than American Mechanicals!)
