Rodney White did an exceptional job for us today! He quickly diagnosed our oven problem and installed a new module. Best of all he got the module maker to pay for the new module and installation! Check the caps on your compressor service ports. I purchased a Trane heat pump from American Mechanical. They installed it and exclusively performed seasonal maintenance for 3 years. Recently, I experienced a failure of the system. This was due to the loss of coolant. After paying for a leak test, it was discovered that the brass caps on the service ports had not been replaced after servicing, (contrary to the manufactures installation instructions), resulting in a coolant leak. In total, the service call, leak test, and replacement coolant cost me $621. American Mechanical refused to accept responsibility for causing this failure. They provided false explanations of the purpose of the brass cap, (describing them as dust cap or alleging that they needed to be removed to prevent interference with the service port valve-stem?) While I believe that they are fully responsible for the entire failure, I offered to settle for a refund of the cost of the leak test, ($291), since it was primarily a labor cost. They refused. They did offer to provide a 1-year service plan, but I already have a home warranty, and if they will not admit that they caused the issue and that their technicians do not know how to maintain the products I cannot risk them performing any additional work on my unit. If you have had service on your Trane HVAC equipment by this company, you should check the service ports, (they look like thick tire valves). There should be brass caps with domed ends. If they are missing, find an HVAC repair person to replace them and avoid the problem I faced.

The service personnel were great, the response from the estimator and office scheduling was not to my expectations. I had to initiate follow up calls after being promised calls within a given time frame. The service technicians seemed to be very conscientious and customer oriented. As far as I can tell, the work seems very well done.

Annual maintenance of 3 year contract. Same company installed backup generator a year ago. Did a great job.
