A great job again - if I need this service, he is the guy I will call. I read the other reviews and I am just floored by the negative ones. I have used this guy in the past over the last couple years (we have old units) and can say I could not be more pleased with his performance and price. He comes out and figures out the problem and gives you your options. If you want to hover over his shoulder and not take his advice, he is probably not the guy for you. My wife did this once when I was travelling out of town (guess how well that went for the both of them - she is a little hard to deal with). For me, it is a heating unit and I really do not have a clue what I am looking at past replacing batteries in the thermostat and turning the unit on and off. Give me the guy that is going to come out and fix the unit or give me my options at a reasonable price. I have been ripped off by the big outfits in the past that pay their techs a percentage of the bill. I am sticking with this guy.
Description of Work: Our heating on our downstairs unit went out last night. Called him at 9:00AM on a Sunday before a Monday holiday and he said he would be here at 10:15. He got here at 10:15 and I am typing this email at 10:45. He inspected the unit and found that the condensation pump had tripped the unit's circuit breaker. He fixed the problem and showed my wife and me how to ensure that it did not happen in the future. The above might seem like a lot of detail but this guy could have told us anything to make more money. He just charged us the normal service call.

He has lied about his credentials and his licensure. I thought he fixed the issue, but I'm going to have to hire another company to check the work and make sure it's up to code, and make necessary adjustments.
Description of Work: He repaired my heating unit and has done other jobs for me before.

I had used Billy before when he recently installed a new Goodman gaspak in another house. My experience with him then was very good and I complimented him highly in a previous report. I'm not sure what has happened since then, but my recent experiences with him have left me deciding to go with another technician in the future. Billy came out to our current house and took the unit apart to check out the fan motor problem. He told us the fan motor needed replacing and that he could order the part and install it as soon as the part arrived in the next couple of days; however, he said while he had the unit apart he noticed pinholes in the heat exchanger of our 9-year old Goodman gaspak. He gave us the option of either replacing the heat exchanger for $1,000 installed, or getting a completely new unit at a cost of about $3,900. He said the gaspak was old and that getting a new one was the recommended option. This was right before the Labor Day holiday and we were getting ready to go out of town in 2 days. We told him we would think about it and paid him for the service call. He called my husband the next day and again advised that we go with a new unit and warned that if we waited until we got back from our trip that the price would be higher since Goodman planned to increase prices in September. The fan noise for some reason went away after he left the day before, so we told him not to do the fan repair unless we heard the noise again. At that point we decided not to do anything until we got back from out of town since we felt as though we were being pressured and we didn't need heat yet anyway. The air conditioning was working fine and that was all we were using at that time of year. When we got back from our trip a little over a week later we called another qualified Goodman technician to get another quote and he told us over the phone after checking the serial # that the heat exchanger was still under warranty. Needless to say, we decided to have the new tech replace the part at a cost of $450 for labor only-the part was free. In the end, I'm not really sure if Billy intentionally misled us or if he was really not aware that the part in question might still be under warranty. Either way, we saved a whole lot of money by going with someone else. Sorry to say, I won't use him again.
Description of Work: Called to diagnose problem with fan in heatpak making noise.

This is the company that installed our Goodman air conditioner in 2006, and we have a 10 year parts/labor warranty. I called today because the a/c is not working, and was told "I'm going to pass," when I asked if he could come out and see what was what. I do not believe this is an a/c issue, but a wiring issue as I may have knocked something about in the attic while cleaning, and explained this to him. When the man with whom I was speaking learned that I was the same woman who called with a different issue in July, and at that time did not opt to have him install a faulty contactor (not covered under warranty) due to what I thought was an outrageous charge ($150 on the spot and $300 if he left and had to return), he decided it was not worth his time; we did not have $150 at the time to spend on the air conditioner; had we been able to afford it, we certainly would have had him perform the service. Certainly it is his prerogative to decline to make a service call, but it seems to me to be poor customer service, particularly if after I get someone else to come out here and discover that it is in fact an air conditioner problem, and not wiring, and something that would be covered under the warranty. Given that we spent almost $3,000 for the air conditioner, I am very disappointed that this is how this company treats its customers, and I do hope that I will not have to deal with him again in the future (but since we have a warranty, I just may).
Description of Work: This was a phone call request for service, and was declined by the provider.

Billy installed a gas pack for me on very short notice. The old unit's heat exchanger had burned out and I was faced with the choice of repairing it or replacing it. The replacement part was very expensive and would've taken a week to ship - the old unit was 10 years old and had its share of repairs so I was wary of spending so much on it. Billy wrote up a quote for a new unit that was extremely reasonable, so the choice to replace it was obvious. Billy and his helper were able to completely install the new unit by the end of the next day. They did a terrific job! They even thoughtfully moved the concrete pad from the old unit (the pad was still in good enough shape) and placed it under our roll out garbage unit in the backyard, which made it nice and level and tidy looking. We came home at the end of the day to a newly installed unit on a nice new concrete pad. Everything was cleaned up well and in perfect working order. I couldn't be happier with the new unit - it looks a lot nicer than the old one ever did. He even went under the house and repaired some of the duct work that had come loose (the duct work was installed with the old unit about 12 years ago, but it wasn't done very well). This isn't the first experience I've had with Billy. He came out to give a quote a while back to my brother (who is blind) for a new gas furnace. It turned out that since the furnace was covered under a new home warranty that my brother had to use a contract firm to complete the work. Nevertheless, Billy stayed in touch with my brother and, for no charge at all, advised him when it appeared that the other company was incorrectly installing the new unit. They had to come out and correct several mistakes that would've gone undetected if it hadn't been for Billy's willingness to help. He came by the house twice to follow up and make sure it had been done right simply because (I think) he thought the company was taking advantage of him. He definitely went beyond the call of duty. I would definitely recommend him to anyone. And he is a GREAT guy!

We had shopped around before choosing this company. They had one of the very best prices we had found. We had received a phone call right before they were ready to come out to make sure we were ready for them. They were right on time. The people we dealt with were very friendly. They knew how to interact with people. We had a full tutorial on the new system before they left. We have had no problems with any of their work.

Came and repaired the unit the same day. Price was much less than the previous service estimate I got. He was extremely nice and efficient, and explained everything. Very comfortable with using him again, and referring to friends.
