Albert's & AR Painting

He came out for a quote on Sunday. He gave me an estimate for exterior painting, professional, polite and hones. I just need to speak with him about some minor concerns.

Albert and his crew arrived punctually and pressure washed the whole house and driveway. His team sanded the paintwork and used a superior primer to seal everything. They also repaired several areas of the facia and trim that were damaged - in one case, entirely reconstructing part of the house facia. They then painted all the trim, front door, entryway railings and stucco. At all times Albert was on site or available for questions. His crew were cheerful and friendly and worked very hard. The job took longer than expected because of bad weather but at no time did I feel the house was a complete mess. They covered all bushes and left no paint marks anywhere. Having your home painted like this is stressful and noisy but Albert made the experience bearable. We are thrilled with the result!

In general, quality of the work was poor and required me to be available to supervise and demonstrate how to do things such as painting trim, washing windows. For example, they missed painting parts of the window trim on each and every window, but I had to take them to each and every window and show them. If I did not physically point to the unpainted wood(after sanding) on each window they would not complete painting that window, They fixed it, but I didn't think it was right that I had to supervise them in this way. Very sloppy in their prep work. I had been told that they would not be working on one side of the house the first day, so I had not cleared off an area. Next thing i know, bang, crash, smash as antique bottles with vinegar got thrown off the window wall gauging the kitchen counters and wood floor and spilling vinegar all over a lovely rug. When they were painting in the back they moved items like a concrete planter and put them directly on top of my plants in my vegetable garden - even thoough there was plenty of room to put them on the concrete pad. They also did their clean up work, including using turpentine next to several specimen shrubs, including a very mature (approx 40 years old camellia and a 20 year old japanese maple. Both were killed - dead, gone and the soil in the area of my foundation plantings was completely poisoned by the turpentine, so in order to replant, I will need to have the existing soil excavated and bring new soil in. Every little thing was a battle with these guys. My house has metal wrapped trim aorund the outside of the windows. Essentially the window frame. They didn't paint that, but painted everything around it. They told me you can't paint that metal. Even called the paint store they work with while on speakerphone and the guy running the paint store said you can and should paint it when it is old... When they washed the windows the guy was using a bottle of windex and a dirty rag. I had to show them how you take a bucket and sponge and wash the windows before you take windex to them. Then had to show them that you don't do a final wipe of windows with a dirty rag. Albert promised to rewash the house because they made such a mess when painting, but he never did that. Also supposedly the coupon allows for additional powerwashes, but I doubt he will ever do those since he didn't do the one he promised to do. Not sure if he uses multiple crews and I got the crummy crew, but I would not let these folks paint inside my house after the experience eith the outside.

Albert gave a very fair estimate for the paint job which included pressure washing, sanding, primer and two coats of paint. The crew was on time every day and did an outstanding job. They were all very professional and went above and beyond what was needed to get the job done. The job was finished on time with no problems at all.

Albert did an outstanding job. Albert, and his team are extremely hard working. He's not only a very experienced painter, but a carpenter too. He's also very knowledgeable about the right products to use to get the job done. He takes tremendous pride in what he does. He did a fabulous job, and made our house look beautiful. Albert was the lowest estimate too, Albert's enthusiasm is contagious, and it's obvious he loves what he does.. He also used only the highest quality products - ie paint, primer, siding, etc. to fix our house. He used an expensive mad dog primer before he painted, and the best Benjamin Moore exterior paint. He also has a large team of guys who really seemed to enjoy their job. I needed a carpenter, and a painter, and was so glad Albert fit the bill.

Great! They got me scheduled very quickly, came in and did amazing work. I was impressed with the quality of the work. He even applied the coat of primer for no extra cost to help my walls. I will definitely use them again if I do another room.

EVerything went great. I will use them again in the future. I would feel very comfortable leaving them at the house if I had to leave. They cleaned up every speck of dirt when they finished. A job well done!

The service was excellent as was the quality. While they weren't the cheapest, they used the best materials and paid attention to details. We would hire them again.

Albert deserves all of his good reviews here on Angie's List ... everything went so smoothly! We needed my mother's recently purchased condo painted, and Albert came out to do an estimate the day after I called him. His quote was $300 less than a quote I received from another vendor. I was also happily surprised that he was able to start the job on very short notice. He and his crew even began the work on a Sunday so that we could meet our timeline. They sanded everything down, patched holes, and painted two coats of the paint we selected. He said we could pick as many colors as we liked for the same price, and paint was included in the $1400 quote. He even fixed two of our bathroom ceilings free of charge ... they were both popcorn ceilings that were peeling off due to some former leaks, and he fixed them by sanding off the popcorn and painting them, and now they look fantastic. He even bought fire-resistant black spray paint and painted the inside of the fireplace. Lastly, he offered to come back and do touch-ups for free after we get our carpet installed if there's any damage. (How great is that ... he isn't even affiliated with the carpet vendor I chose, and he is offering to come back and help us with touch-ups if they cause any damage.) Lastly, he finished the job 2 full days early. I am now a huge fan of Albert's Painting, and will definitely recommend him highly!

Even though we had the house painted and some wood repairs three years ago by another company, the paint was peeling, and had lots of rotten wood due to poor sealing and prep work by the prior contractor. We got four bids and three were all in the reasonably close, with Albert's Painting being just slightly the highest. . One was significantly lower, which we dismissed. Albert and his team did an outstanding job. The started a few days late due to the weather, but finished the job by the deadline date we had requested. The job took nine days with 4-7 workers on the job. We were impressed with the way the crew worked as a team -- it certainly made the job good much smoother. They did everything that they had outlined in the bid, plus a few extra things that was not noted in the bid. For example we had excluded the shutters and also the screen porch flooring, but they went ahead and painted the shutters and also the screen porch flooring at no additional cost. Also while they were to replace the screens on the screen porch, they also replace a half-dozen window screens that had small rips -- again at no additional cost. All of the materials used were of the highest quality. It was clear that Albert and the team was committed to doing a quality job and took a lot of pride in their work. Even though Albert provided a 5-year guarantee that includes an annual pressure wash, he invites you to let him know at anytime that there is any cracking, peeling etc so that it can be taken care of immediately. He honored the Angie's discount. We were very please and certainly would use him again and do highly recommend.

Albert came personally to give us a quote for the job. We got three quotes, and his was the lowest. In addition, he suggested replacing the 20-year-old screening on the porch, which we had them do. His crew arrived on the agreed-upon date, they worked from sun up to sun down. The work was very well done. The crew was very pleasant and agreed readily to minor changes in the work. I usually do not use a low bidder for fear of a cheap job, but he was well recommended by Angie's List and we found this recommendation to be accurate. We are very pleased with the result. The entire paint job took about a week. They even came on Sunday to finish up the last steps.

This was my second time using Albert's Painting. They painted 3 bedrooms back in August and their work was so fantastic that I called them back out to bid for the foyer and dining room. Once again, Albert's Painting was very reasonable and his work his honest....so they got the job again. They did an even better job the second time! They were very careful and paid good attention to detail. The owner, Albert, stayed at the job the whole time to make sure everything was done to my liking. In regards to the fauxing and plastering, he has a very good eye for what looks nice. You can't go wrong hiring this crew. They will make sure you are very pleased.

Alberts painting is quality, detailed, efficient, cost effective and organized, Albert is very diligent about answering the phone, and if he doesn't answer he will call you back and thats including before the job, while on the job, and after the job gets done. His Crew worked late into the night to make sure our house painting was completed. They did all the trim work from steps to hand rails, doors, ceilings, and crown milding that is in a foyer twenty feet high beautifully. There was 15 year old wallpaper in the bathroom and kitchen, well not anymore, all removed sanded, primed and painted. He uses quality paint and backs his work. Prices are extremely fair and even if Albert does come a little higher than some other painter.. REMEMBER you get what you pay for and HE IS WORTH IT! My wife and I are so happy with him and his crew. Great work.

The crew leader James and crew did an excellent job. The communication was very good and quality of work was superb. We had a four day interruption of rain but the job was performed as quoted and the job was not complete until I was satisfied. James kept me informed though out the entire process and addressed all issues of concern. They repaired and replaced wood, primed and painted all surfaces and cleaned gutter faces and windows.

Fairly brief phone. He said he was busy, not taking on new clients.

I have worked with many contractors, handymen, painters, mechanics, electricians, and other service oriented companies (most from the Myers Park, Eastover area), and Albert and his crew are head of the class. Truly professional. Albert is enthusiastic and really cares about the customer and the work, and it spreads to his crew. Albert was always available, his crew showed up and left right on time, they were incredibly respectful and courteous towards me, the house and my neighbors. They worked very hard the entire time and did exceptional work. I cannot say enough about the quality of work. I had some very challenging areas to repair and the work was just outstanding! His quote was right in line or under the other bids i got. You will not get a better deal and higher quality of work than you will with Albert, guaranteed! I give Albert and his crew the highest recommendation.

Albert and his crew were wonderful to work with. They were punctual, professional, and did an excellent job on pressure washing the exterior of our house and cleaning and painting all windows. The service provided far exceeded my expectations and was a tremedous value! Thank you, Albert!

Albert came over for quotation on time and reasonable price, compared to other competitors. First day, woodwork crew came over and replaced rotten wood for all exterior including windows. Second day, painting crew came over and prepare to put primer. They also came over weekend to work very hard. Crew put Mad Dog primer Albert said it is very good product for exterior and very nice nutual color paint exactly I asked for. They also replaced broken side board of my deck and re-stained deck very nice. Everyone had worked very hard and professionally, very easy to work with. I am very impressed their good work and highly recommend to others.

We were happy with the quality of work done regarding the application of the Mad Dog primer which I think will make the job last longer. The painting which consisted of brushing around the edges and spraying the rest (we thought this would be all applied by brush as per the estimate) . We were not happy with the cleanup of the paint that was scraped. Our garden is directly below one set of eves that was scraped (possibly with leaded paint) without ANY precaution taken regarding lead abatement. NO test for led paint was administered which actually may be illegal. We also have now found paint chips to look at out of our bathroom window until I crawl out and try to cleanup the watershed area we use for the rain barrel. . I called the crew " Chief" Eugine and explained the issue with the garden, he tried to clean up the area but, I am not sure I can plant there again without taking out soil. The walkaround went well,I thought the crew would put the furniture around the house to it's origional position, they did not. We also found no less than 5 screws in our driveway that may have come from the 'crew'. Albert also instructed me to call him to come and powerwash the house and "touch up" after pollen season (Warrantee item) I am not sure that I should have to remind anyone to follow through one's warrantee.

THEY ARE OUTSTANDING! Alex, the team leader, was well-spoken and responsive to additional requests like repairing a broken window frame which had been broken for months. He also replaced the weather stripping on the back door. He kept us apprised of each step of the process over the week. Albert helped select the perfect color for the front door and picked it up that day. They guarantee their work and will pressure wash yearly for 5 years, and will come back to make any "fixes" as well and at no cost. To maintain the stain on our deck, they will re stain in 3 years or sooner, as needed, with no labor charge. They use the highest quality paints (Mad Dog primer and SW Duration on our house). Furthermore, they were the LEAST EXPENSIVE of the three Angie's List bids I received.

The crew arrived on time and got right to work. They were very courteous and professional the entire week they were here. We added some additional work while they were here and they willing accepted the job with no delays. The even worked through the weekend to complete the job!! I would recommend Albert to anyone looking for quality work - he and his crew did an excellent job!!

Overall, they just wanted us to have a complete job and worked with us to optimize the look of our home. They were always timely and respectful. It was a great experience and well worth the price.

We had one room which had to be painted. He gave us a quote for the five rooms and how much each room would cost. They got into the job and I asked him how much time it would take. He told me that he was not a painter and he had come to give an estimate. When they finished the painting. The book shelf was left. I told them that they had left it. He said that it was not in the contract. It was a big disappointment. The paint was I would never use them in the future.

When Albert arrived to give us an estimate and to check out the job, he became excited about the potential our house had to capture the original Craftsmen feel and look of the past. What he found was 91 year old cedar shake covered in many layers of old paint with varying degrees of "alligatoring", peeling ends and lots of chips. He excitedly showed us a primer that he has used successfully in previous jobs to lock in the old paint and create a surface that would allow new paint to adhere without the cracking and peeling. His enthusiasm is infectious and it dispelled the concerns my wife and I had about the prospect of painting the damaged surface of the shake (versus replacing with new siding). We had been told by another painting contractor to expect cracking and peeling within 6-8 months of his painting the house. Albert not only dispelled our fear that we would have to constantly repair and touch-up the paint, but told us about his 5 year guarantee. Talk about instilling confidence!! Albert's crew is a remarkable group of guys that are highly skilled, work well together, stay motivated and take pride in the job they perform. They arrived punctually every day, well organized and each ready to begin their assigned task. Throughout the entire job, they stayed focused on their work and whenever we would discuss specifics as to how we wanted something painted, they were friendly, smiling and eager to please. At the end of each day, they left the worksite picked-up and clean. Their preparation of the house for painting was excellent and I was amazed at the time they put into scraping, sanding and caulking the old surface. The total crew took real pride in their work and the finished job reflected their efforts. Our home turned out amazing, and we have had many nice compliments from neighbors, joggers and complete stangers. All I can add is that at a time when quality craftsmanship and pride in your work is in short supply, Albert's Painting comes along and restores your faith in today's work ethic.
