Description of Work: We are not satisfied with our current security system which the previous owner had installed. I called ADT to have someone come to the house to review our needs, recommend options, and price the system we decided on. We intend to review at least 2 proposals. The person on the phone said the company would not provide a written proposal with prices until we were signing the contract for the installation and service. I said we needed to know the cost before considering a contract. She said, “I will give you pricing over the phone.” She persisted even when I said I was about to hang up – which I did. I have never dealt with a service provider that would not provide a written scope of work and binding prices. If we are unable to compare a firm offer from ADT with any other proposals, apparently ADT imagines that works to their advantage.
