Thank-you! We are truly grateful for the work! It's always nice to work for nice people who trust us to take care of them and do a nice job. They had a crawlspace that had some severe issues. We had to do it all to get it right. It's a night and day difference!! It looks, feels and smells really awesome now! Thanks for being so nice to my guys too and for the grill and smoker!! Hopefully we may find some time to use them in the near future! Woof-Woof to your dog-pals too!

They did an excellent job for us. They did everything that they promised. They did it on time and came back and checked. They were polite. All the employees were great. They did what they said they would and made sure it was done the way we liked it. They were just amazing. All I can do is rave about them. It was the best experience I've had in a long time. I have recommended them to friends, and I'm not one who recommends very easily. We would absolutely use them again.

Thank-you so much! It was really great to visit, get to know and do the work for you. My guys enjoyed the friendliness and kindness that was given to them. We are totally appreciative of your generosity! The crawlspace was in pretty bad shape from the ductwork sweating for so many years. We did a Good Clean-up and New Insulation, a new Vapor Barrier, and a high-end Dehumidifier, re-built the crawlspace door and sealed the vents shut. The crawlspace went from ugly to pretty and dry! Best wishes to you both!

Called to schedule an appointment with Tim Hodges. After some re-scheduling due to personal conflicts, Tim was able to arrive at my residence and evaluate the damp crawl space. However, even though Tim promised an estimate the next week, I never received it. It took my time to call back and ask about it and was (once again) promised the estimate. Nearly a month has gone by and i still I haven't seen it. Throughout my conversations with Tim, there was always some underlying "personal" reason he didn't meet his commitments. I understand personal challenges, but Accu-Dry should not make commitments until these are resolved. My time is valuable too.
Description of Work: Inspected residence for potential repair to damp crawlspace. Promised an estimate to repair.

In defense of myself, I actually set an appointment to meet with him and look at his basement/crawlspace area a year or two ago and when I showed up he wasn't there. He kind of stood me up and ended up talking with his relative at the time (kind of incosiderate). So a couple of years later he had no idea that I had even been out there. 2 trips = Fuel, Time, etc. I don't think that he really liked my ideas, seemed a little skeptical or something and had his own. Sometimes some projects simply aren't a good match. The fact is is that I had been sick, along with some vehicle issue around that time. The fact is I actually put together a proposal and tried to email the proposal but was blocked out and his type of email system required filling out a bunch of info and jumping through hoops to get it to him which I just didn't have time to do - so I let it slide to get proposals to people who were easier to deal with. I think its a pretty strong grade and I guarantee you he definitely wont get a proposal now or a good job done by a good guy that does good work. Sorry.

We asked for a quote to fix a problem area in our basement. He took WAY too long & he wouldn't address the problem i called about, just kept insisting that I use a white barrier product that he sells to replace our current crawlspace barrier even though we have had no problem with our current barrier & that was nowhere near the problem that we called about. I asked him to please give me a quote without the barrier since we did not need it. He rolled his eyes at me. When he sent the quote, he DID include the barrier & when I emailed him to please requote it as I had asked, he never responded. He was a complete & total waste of time. The price may have been reasonable without the barrier, but the barrier issue was really expensive, unnecessary, and it was I was very clear with him that we did not want it. Since he would not requote it, of course he did not get the job.
Description of Work: We only had him quote the job & that experience was bad enough for us.

Yes, I remember that I visited to look at the home. I do find it amazing that someone would take the energy and time to write a bad review on you over the smallest thing along with half-truths especially when you are honestly trying to help them. Very odd. I find it a little strong of a grade for something that is not that big of a deal. If you don't want to do the work, ok then so be it - Don't write a bad review. The home was being put on the market and I met to look at the issues. Generally, I have found that most people that are selling their home don't want to spend any money on anything that needs to be fixed anyway because they are selling their home. Also some people just want to use me in a real estate situation for a price just to have someting to negotiate with. ( I can't tell you how many hours I have spent on real estate inspections/proposals without any compensation whatsoever.) I did quote to her the basement work which was a little bit of a different set-up. It was a very old home with a couple of different layers of basement/crawlspace and not typical of a lot of things that I look at. I did look at the crawlspace which was a disaster. It had some old tattered plastic sheeting, debris, and was old and so I commented that I felt like it would be a lot more attractive if we could simply clean it out and put a new vapor barrier which was not very much money at all! - maybe $400 or something - In fact If I remember correctly, I think I was actually going to more or less do it for cost or nothing at all with the other work basement work that was needed trying to help her out so that it was more attractive when a prospective buyer looked at the home (We're not talking about a $4,000 White, 20 mil. sealed crawlspace - we are talking about just a $400 value in a vapor barrier mind you) The customer was definitely in a rush loading a pick-up truck and then had me talk with her mom. I think my customers that I have had the pleasure to actually do work for know that they get their money's worth and it is a great solution. I totally DID address the problem that she called about and based on experience was trying to help by advising her to do the vapor barrier. I was very kind and courteous with her and her mom. Maybe she was too distracted by everything else she was doing that she didn't understand that I was totally trying to help. I was very busy back in the summer (it was our peak season) and think that it may have been hard for me to get a revised proposal back to her based on the almost free vapor barrier that I was going to do for her. I couldn't have lowered the price any less anyway for the basement work because I had given a good price for that as well including the vapor barrier. We do spend our time, gas, etc. to come out for free and our jobs are hard enough without someone trying to make you look bad over nothing especially when you were trying to honestly help them. So why should I spend any more time revising a proposal unless they are serious about giving me the job? Most likely, even if I had revised the price, spent the time revising a proposal I probably still wouldn't have gottent the job anyway. Anyone that knows me knows that they can also just call me up, talk to me, let me know what they are thinking, talk about price and can usually come up with something that works for both of us. Wow.

Tim's four-man team led by supervisor and extremely diligent worker, Ronnie, installed the system in approximately seven days. Any other company most likely would have taken three times that. I have rarely seen men work so hard and so competently. Each night I was able to observe their progress and I was always extremely impressed. Ronnie and his team were a delight. They were great workers and great people; my wife and I enjoyed having them in our home. Everything was done as advertised and as promised. The team cleaned up every night and protected our property as if it were their own. Ronnie answered all my questions and went the extra mile to make us happy. As an example, I asked for a center surface drain and a drain for a dehumidifier and the team did that and added two additional drains. Essentially, this company wants to say "yes" when other companies would most likely want to say "no." My wife and I bought this home two years ago and were very disappointed when we discovered the water problem. However, now that AccuDry has done their work, my wife and I rest assured that the problem has been solved and solved very well. We feel confident that we can use the basement without fear of any future water damage. That's a great feeling to have. Thanks, Tim, Ronnie, and company!
Description of Work: After our basement was flooded for the fourth time, I solicited proposals to fix the problem. Tim, AccuDry owner, proposed a complete internal french drain system with two gravity-fed discharges. I wanted a complete solution and selected AccuDry. I am very happy that I did. Tim's plan required that his team dig around the entire inside perimeter of the home and dig down to the base of the footers. Accu Dry installed multiple surface drains and tied them into the french drain system so that any surface leak, like a broken water heater, could exit into the drainage system. Additionally, Accu Dry installed multiple external drains in the driveway to divert rain water as it traveled towards the house.

Wow! - Thank-you for the great compliments and for appreciation for the hard work my guys do - its not an easy job for sure! It was a littel bit of a challenge due to the steeply pitched lot on the lake. You folks were so kind to give my guys drinks and my guys raved about the cinnamon rolls too! I know they surely enjoyed a little fishing from your dock and the boat ride too. We are truly greatful for the work and for choosing us to solve your basement problem. I wish you both all the best with retirement and living on the lake! Just remember to check the gas guage on the boat and try not to run out of gas while you are on the lake! lol!

Tim and his crew did a fantastic job! I can't say enough about the character of these gentlemen! Some of the nicest people I have met in a long time. The workmanship was excellent. They did their very best to keep us from being inconvenienced. They moved the furniture, covered everything in plastic and did not leave one single evening without cleaning up first. I think they even left my yard looking better than when they started! The job took a little over a week and it was unbelievable how much they did in that short time. I must mention that while they were here I needed to put a sleeper sofa in a van to take to my son in college and the guys put it in for me!! They insisted! Such nice people and hard reliable workers.
Description of Work: After some very heavy rain i noticed stains on the carpet in my basement. They were wet spots and they covered a large area of the basement. I called Accu Dry and Time came out the same day. I was impressed with how much time Tim took to figure out the best plan of action. He made it clear that it was hard to say exactly the cost because there could be "surprises" once they started removing the wainscoting and the carpet. There really weren't any surprises because he covered all of the possibilities to begin with. Within a day he had the plans drawn up and an estimate to us for approval. The next day his crew started work which lasted a little over a week. The concrete was broken on the floor, a ditch dug around the room and then gravel, plastic sheeting and drain pipes were added. After that the concrete was poured. Now any water that would normally go into the room goes into the pipe below the concrete floor and flows outside. All of the downspouts were tied into the drainpipes that went across the yard (underground) and into a creek.

I was very pleased with the work that was done. The owner, Tim Hodges, is very personable and easy to work with. He initially proposed a lot more work than I ultimately accepted but was very gracious when I declined the french drains, full encapsulation and joist cleaning, I spent less than half the price of the original proposal but am very happy with the result. The aim was to dry out a very damp crawlspace that was actually raining condensation from the insulation and floor joists. No attempts at increasing ventilation had helped in the past. I have an inexpensive humidity meter (can't remember the proper term for that) that I placed in one of the problem areas of the crawlspace after the job was done last year. The humidity hasn't risen above 49% all summer and it feels cool and comfortable when I enter the space. No condensation. There was a musty smell that creeped into out guest bathroom last summer after the crawlspace was sealed. Tim said the joist cleaning would have taken care of that. This summer the smell has resolved on its own. I called Accudry back to pipe off another downspout this summer when I had new gutters installed. Tim sent one man (Ronnie, I think) to do the job and he did great! He had to take up some stones from my flagstone walk and dig through large and small Oak roots for 4 hours but he said "I'm going to win" and he did. He had a great sense of humor and kept his composure even on a 95 degree day in July. The pipe works perfectly and he put everything back together and cleaned up as well as I would have. (That is a compliment: I'm very picky). I'll call them again if I have water/drainage problems.
Description of Work: Removed and disposed of all insulation, old vapor barrier and debris in crawlspace (appox 2800 sq. ft) Sealed all vents with foam and caulk and installed new pull shut vents for improved appearance Re-built and insulated two crawl space doors Dug out and installed gravel in 2 vent wells Installed and fastened new vapor barrier over entire crawlspace Installed Oscar-Air Plus dehumidifier Piped off one downspout with PVC pipe and dug 20 foot trench away from house. I called Accudry back in 2011 to pipe off another downspout

Our Accu-Dry experience was wonderful. Having never had a crawlspace we were really dependent on getting honest and accurate information regarding a wet crawlspace. Tim met those requirements. The crew that worked at our home was on time, neat , and professional. I would highly recommend the services of Accu-Dry.

I met Mr. Hodges at the house and accompanied him as he examined my crawl space. He talked at length with me afterwards and later faxed a detailed proposal. After examining the proposals from several companies, I decided another company could best meet my needs at the present time due to their proprosal being closer to what I envisoned for my crawl space and budget.
Description of Work: Mr. Hodges came out and looked at my crawl space due to moisture problems. He gave the crawl space a very thorough inspection. He later presented a comprehensive proprosal which included pictures of his work. I was impressed with his knowledge, confidence, and willingness to meet again if further explanation of proposal was needed.

They were informative and very competent
Description of Work: Repaired an inadequate and unfinished job left by another outfit. This included waterproofing and reburying our house's basement foundation.
I thought Accudry earned their money. I consider their solution to my crawlspace problems far superior to other contractors I consulted. The only minor problems I had was that they cut my sprinkler system in several places and my telephone landline. I consider these incidents as unavoidable due to the amount of digging they did. The owner of Accudry is very easy to work with and is very interested in having satisfied customers. I believe he offers the best materials and workmanship available.
Description of Work: In January, Accudry installed interior French drains, a sump pump, drain pipes leading to the street and tied in most of my downspouts. I also had a pipe run from my swimming pool filter pump to the street to facilitate backflushes. The crawlspace dried out during the spring and summer. In August Accudry put down a thick vapor barrier and installed a professional grade dehumidifier.

When Tim made his proposal to take care of the flooding, he answered all the many questions I had. I was especially impressed that he carefully tailored the solution to my particular situation. He and his crew were always punctual and professional and cleaned up when they finished. Since Accu-Dry completed their work, the water flows through the pipes and away from the house, and the basement/crawl space has remained dry. Accu-Dry has done an excellent job.
Description of Work: Built into a hill, my house has a cemented basement area that goes into a crawl space. I was having flooding problems that had become pretty severe with the torrential rains we were having more and more often. Tim and the Accu-Dry crew have taken care of the problems. They installed a PVC pipe and gravel basement/crawl space drain system. They installed a floor drain in the door well area (outside), and also installed a grate drain inside the basement door. They installed a gravity-fed discharge drain line. They installed a French drain outside at one end of the house; they piped off 6 downspouts with PVC pipe. Installed new vents, cleaned and scrubbed the wood joists/floor throughout crawl space. Installed a liner to basement walls. After the area was dried out with fans and a dehumidifier, they installed and fastened a vapor barrier over the crawl space soil.

We were never re-contacted to discuss an apples-to-apples comparison, prices, etc. We usually include a lot, especially quality for the price. Usually there is some misunderstand of thickness of liner, quality of drain system, or something. I am always open for discussion about solution/price and comparison. Be Wary! There are some companies who have picked up new service/products outside of what they have always specialized in and are including it as part of their work for you. This doesn't mean that you are getting the best contractor to do this for you. We are not an insulation company and we don't perform Spray Foam Insulating. I refer my customers to someone who is experienced and who specializes in that field so they get the best product and contractor. Please allow us to compare with you and you most likely will find in the details that we are the best quality at the best price!

I was very pleased with Accu-Dry and the owner, Tim Hodges. He was very nice, professional, and thorough. I initially got a quote from him in in 2009, but did not proceed with the project until 2010. When we called him, he remembered us and came out again to look at the problem. While we did not like the initial plan he proposed (because we weren't sure if it would address the problem) he was very flexible and offered other solutions at the same cost. His team arrived on time and were a pleasure to have around. They also were very meticulous and did not rush the job. Best of all, the cleaned up very nicely. The yard actually looked better when they were done! My only complaint is that it took a while to get the quote both in 2009 and 2010 (around 1-2 weeks I believe). I think the responsiveness could be faster, but I can understand that this can be a challenge for small businesses. Also, I really wanted to have a utility locator company called (which is free and required by law) before they began digging. I expressed this to Tim, but I think he was eager to start the work and the locator company was never called which was disappointing. He did however come out and supervise the project and looked all around the house to ensure that they would not bother anything underground. I trust that he would not have started digging if he wasn't sure. The guys did accidentally cut a buried orange cable but no one could figure out what the cable was for so we have just ignored it. All in all, I was pleased with Accu-dry and would definitely use them again in the future. I liked the work and they were really trustworthy.

It went really well at first. The owner is extremely nice and so are the workers. They did everything they said they would but had never done this type of work before. They typically do basements. They made several mistakes such as not getting the gutter downspouts level with the terrace and they were marked where to be cut. They left several pipes going through the house unsealed and we had to correct that ourselves. He was very nice at first, but as problems arose, as they generally do, the owner seemed to grow less patient and professional. He ended up refusing to come back to fix the problems above and cut off excess tar paper in one area. We owed him $400 more and he told us after several phone calls that he simply wasn't coming back, he was done. We had to finish the work ourselves. The problem is that he could have said it would cost more or offered other solutions, but he didn't try to. He just sort of got fed up and quit, which put us in a bind. He never really was ugly about it, but just wouldn't finish the project. I still don't feel 100% confident that the money we spent will actually prevent water issues since he seems so unsure of himself and the project. He also installed a gutter system using 8in PVC and did a good job with that. I really think he would be fine in a basement where he specializes, but I wouldn't get him to do any more exterior waterproofing. He did tell us upfront that this was not his specialty, but I figured how hard could it be? My advice would be to use him for basements, but don't pay him a bunch of money until the project is completed. If we would have held out more money he probably wouldn't have quit when he did.
Description of Work: They waterproofed the outside of our house near the pool to prevent future water issues.

They came when they said they were coming and finished when they said they would. They were also very pleasant the whole time. We would use them again.

I was very pleased with ACCU-Dry's professionalism, particularly when compared with some other contractors. Keep up the good work. Time Hodge came to look at my problem when he said he would and the work was done when he said it would be done. An additional wall patch was needed. Definitely give ACCU-DRY a chance to bid on your job.
Description of Work: Filling in and tamping down dirt in area that had settled too much; shoring up with concrete platforms 2 condensers; spreading fine straw.

The workers arrived promptly and frequently worked through lunch. They even came to work one Saturday. They were very professional and cleaned up after themselves each day. Sod was replaced and reseeded where they had to run pipe outside. Telephone calls were returned promptly. Tim and his crew seemed to know what they were doing and to take pride in doing a professional job.
Description of Work: I had a finished basement that was flooding. For the basement they installed an interior basement drain system, sealed walls of basement with Dura-Liner, and installed a gravity-fed discharge drain line. To help divert water from the basement, they installed a pipe off of 4 downspouts along the front of the house with 4" PVC pipe. The outside work required routing under a sidewalk and through a maze of pipes for a lawn watering system.
