We have used The Treeist for many years for our heavily-wooded lot, in numerous roles: trimming and removing trees, treating tree diseases, and providing advice on tree care. Most recently, however, The Treeist was super-responsive when a very large limb fell in a storm and entirely blocked our driveway. That same evening a Treeist arborist came to our house and cut the limb up so we could safely get our car out of the driveway. Even more remarkably, The Treeist didn't charge for the emergency service. Wonderful company with a great community commitment and orientation. Highly recommended.
Description of Work: Removal of limb fallen in storm that entirely blocked our driveway. This was a safety as well as convenience problem,

Went as planned. Original appointment to get estimate was easy and employees of this company are very knowledgeable. A large crew show up on appointed day with excellent equipment and trimmed trees that had already been marked. Clean up was excellent. I strongly recommend this company and will use them again

Excellent work. The tree assessment was done carefully and the price was very fair. The crew cleaned up completely following a days work, not leaving a trace of debris from the tree removal.

Craig and his team were awesome. He came out to do the estimate and was clearly very knowledgeable and thorough - he even made a map and marked trees he thought should be removed (despite not knowing yet if I'd move forward with his company or chose another). He and his office staff were very responsive, and the crew that came to do the work was extremely impressive. They were very professional and safety-conscious, and worked INCREDIBLY fast. After the main work had been done, I noticed that a few small trees that had been added to the list had been missed (it was a big list), and when I emailed to ask them if they could come back out, a crew showed up a few hours later to make it right. Craig even arranged for the stumps to be ground so I wouldn't have to deal with it. The quality of the work was excellent and I'm a very happy customer - and the price was literally half of what some other (Angie's List A-rated providers) quoted me.
Description of Work: Remove two large Bradford pears (near the house and street), remove several smaller pines, lift canopy in backyard.

Fantastic. Large tree fell completely blocking our driveway due to a storm. Called Craig first thing in the morning and he re-routed his crew and our driveway was cleared within 30 mins. Zach and his crew were professional and timely. Highly recommend and I was very happy with their rates.

Description of Work: One of the most professional groups I have met Craig is a great person. the job to remove a 150 year fallen oak and other fallen trees was no easy task. The crew was polite and it is the first time I have had a crew come up and introduce themselves personally. This group is a gem And if you want Craig can give lectures in philosophy. Wonderful experience Also note that Craig can top trees also

I had 7 or 8 people come out and give estimates. Basically I called all the top rated people I found on yelp and Angie’s list plus one friend referral and one guy that left me his card. Craig was so professional, helpful, and courteous during his initial estimate that I decided that I would leave a review whether I hired him or not. I also decided that even if his quote was a little higher that the cheapest one I would go with him due to his quality of service. It ended up that Craig’s offer was the best (and then some) so the choice was clear. As far as the work – Craig and his team took down the huge pines in the driveway and one big twin (basically two trees) poplar right next to the house. Just to make things more interesting there was also a septic tank and a gas line on either side of the poplar, which gave Craig approximately 5x10 feet of space where he could put down the tree. All the trees were brought down in pieces with every single one landing where it should. And yes, I was out there the whole day watching to make sure. Also, Craig chipped all the brush as part of the quote (which most people charge separately) and with his big chipper he is able to chip very large branches and smaller tree trunks. All in all, Craig and his crew were excellent workers, did more than we negotiated, for less than other companies and they were courteous and accommodating throughout. I would highly recommend them and I WILL hire them next time I have tree issues. Now, I just need to find someone of Craig’s quality for all the other projects I need done.

Mr. Nishimoto was very easy to communicate with, and very responsive. They were punctual, cleaned up thoroughly after the work was done, and the cost was more than reasonable. Mr. Nishimoto made thoughtful suggestions as to how my huge crepe myrtle could be improved, and my trees look fantastic. His skill and expert judgement were readily apparent. I am beyond thrilled!!
Description of Work: A large crepe myrtle needed significant pruning, and a cherry tree and a Japanese maple needed some pruning.

I asked three companies to consult and then bid on tree removal at my wooded home. Only two of the companies responded promptly, the Treeist was one of them. Both companies made good suggestions and respected the wooded nature of our lot, but Craig Nishimoto, who owns and operates The Treeist, really impressed me. I was leaning toward working with Craig anyway, but then his bid was also substantially better than the competing bid. Craig was careful, thoughtful and provided options about how to handle a large double-trunked tree near our home and he was able to suggest a way forward that allowed us to keep the tree. He was great about explaining why certain trees should be removed based on their growth rates or how prone they might be to wind and structural damage. Once we agreed on a plan he and his crew arrived on time with the work filling a full day. The complicated job was bolting and wiring the large double-trunked hickory tree. They did a great job and also removed some of the crown of the tree to eliminate weight. Everything was chipped or hauled away; the wooded yard looks great. I've already gotten compliments on the clearing that they did. There were a few stumps that I wanted cut back further and Craig arranged for his crew to return quickly and complete this to my satisfaction. I definitely recommend The Treeist -- for their consultative approach, their excellent communication, their timeliness and excellent quality of work. And his estimate was very fair.
Description of Work: We have an acre lot that is heavily wooded. I needed a large double-trunked 70' tall hickory tree strengthened with wire support. There were 12-15 medium size trees that needed to be removed and then scrubby brush, smaller trees were cleared from the lot.

Outstanding service, work and clean-up. They did exactly what was promised, they were friendly and professional. The trees were removed without damage to surrounding vegetation. I will definitely use them again.
Description of Work: We needed two large pine trees cut and removed. One was a large pine surrounded by two other ornamental trees. The other tree was in a tight location between the house and a fence.

Craig was fantastic: easy to schedule an estimate-appointment online, he showed up at the exact time, gave a good description of what needed to be done, and when we decided to go with him, he was there in a day or two to do the work. The work itself was excellent - the clearance above and around the chimney was perfect; if you look at the trees themselves, they still look good and healthy; and all the limbs removed were cleaned up and hauled away. I will call him again for any future tree work requirements.
Description of Work: Had a number of limbs from a hickory tree that had grown directly over the chimney.

KUDOS to Craig Nishimoto and his crew. Not only were they extremely professional but courteous and friendly. In fact, the crew individually introduced themselves to me before they began the work. The proposal was more than fair and the work superb. I have already discussed with him another project in the fall. For those living in the Chapel Hill area this is a service you should consider first. You will not be disappointed. If I could rate them A+ I would do so
Description of Work: There was a large red oak tree about 30 inches in diameter leaning on other trees which had been broken by this tree including a large pine tree, This was not a particularly easy task to fell the tree.

Craig Nishimoto and his team gave us white glove service for a big, messy, complex job. He personally saw that every aspect of the tree removal was done to our satisfaction, from taking down the tree, grinding the limbs, removing the trunk and adding chips/mulch to a natural area in need of it. Craig communicated well. He was reachable by email and by cell and always responded quickly. He responded to every concern about the driveway and the yard. He was absolutely committed to a job well-done and we were extremely pleased with the outcome. Of the three bids we got, Craig's was the most competitive. We felt we got excellent value for our money. Other contractors tried to up-sell us on more services; they seemed to be sales people (though they were arborists) and not the actual people doing the job. Not so with Craig. He was the guy in the tree and on the ground. He is a certified arborist and he knew what we wanted. If we do find ourselves in need of other services, we will call him. He just couldn't have given us better service. Please call him.
Description of Work: Removed a VERY large dying pine tree next to our concrete driveway.
