# User Rating: 1 out of 5 stars by Doug Sept 09/03/2010 I paid Lystra Road Contracting to replace my driveway in October of 2009. The result was a total disaster. The new driveway cracked, separated and failed within 6 months. We hired a PE (Professional Engineer) to tell us what went wrong, and he pointed out numerous deficiencies in Lystra's work, including failing to cut the control joints in the slab deep enough, and failing to use a gravel base under the new driveway. Beware also of any price they give you. Their initial bid was competitive, but after they removed the old driveway, they demanded another $1000 because the ground under the old driveway was 'bad'. There was no discussion prior to this that they were working on a time and materials basis, but we were between a rock and a hard place as they had already removed the old driveway.
