I phoned and ordered topsoil from Brockwell and their price was really good. They were very pleasant and helpful and were able to deliver the next day. It arrived on time and was dumped exactly where I asked them to put it. (Other drivers seldom manage this). The quality was first class. I would definitely use them again.

The delivery person was wonderful. However, the quality of the saw dust changed drastically during the 2-1/2 years I dealt with Brockwell. A couple of times in 2011, they delivered shavings instead of saw dust. The shavings were impossible to shift through the horse manure. However, during this time they did every so often deliver saw dust. In 2012, all deliveries were shavings - non-absorbent. I called the order line several times and was always promised that Tommy would call me back. He never did. The last delivery in July 2012 was wood chips and the horses urine would puddle beneath the and quot;shavingsand quot;. It was terrible. I have since found another source. I'll never call Brockwell again. BTW, during the 2-1/2 years the cost of a load when from $210 to $275 - a 30% increase. We only live about 10 miles from them.

I ordered 6 cu yards of mulch from JV Brockwell over the telephone. The person who took the order was very pleasant and informative.The delivery was made that same afternoon a few hours later. I asked the delivery person to deposit the mulch in a specific area of my yard--not an easy task given the size of the truck and the location in the yard. He placed the mulch in exactly the right spot without harming or burying nearby plantings. I thought the price was very reasonable and the entire experience was great. Brockwell's will take a personal check at time of delivery so that is an additional plus.

After many bike rides past the location where all the mulch, topsoil, and gravel is kept, I finally stopped in to order some mulch. I was greeted by the front-loader driver who gave me a business card and told me to call the office to place the order. I did just that. The woman in the office was very professional and pleasant. She set me up for the delivery of 10 cubic yards of some really nice double-shredded hardwood mulch which they delivered to me within 3 hours. Brockwell Trucking has probably THE best looking mulch and topsoil I've seen. I will certainly be doing business with these folks from now on. It is great to have nice mulch that's not full of gravel. They also have some really nice natural stone too. If you live in the area, go check their stuff out. Their lot is located at Villa Dr AND Dairyland Rd NC
