BRUCE'S CARPETS & FLOORING

I needed the carpet replaced within a short time frame as I was changing tenants and Bruce's Carpet managed to work it in, although it was a very busy time for them. I was grateful for their responsiveness!

Sales person helped me pick out the right type of floor and design. Maple design vinyl plank floor. No pressure. Show room isn't fancy. She let me borrow a sample and then she came out to measure and give me a quote. Install only took 3 days total. The two fellows that came moved everything to do the work, prepared the floor and laid out the vinyl plank. After work was done, they put everything back. All the mess was cleaned up. Exactly what I wanted.

I did not go forward with the project. The customer service reps were very friendly and helpful.

Excellent experience overall. They came to our home to measure the space and review our chosen samples in the ambient light and with existing decor. Installation was done on time and professionally. Would highly recommend.

Everything was excellent. They were very personal, professional and the price was great. I was happy with them and I will refer them again. It was pleasant dealing with them from beginning to end. They were very helpful and it was a good experience. We didn't have any problems. They were easy to deal with.

We had a wonderful experience with Bruce's Flooring. They helped us pick out the perfect flooring for the downstairs of our house- helping us both with the best materials for our needs, and with colors and design. They're hands on and great to work with. We'd use them again in a heartbeat.

I chose Bruce's because even though their prices are as good as any of the other quotes I got, they also are a local family-owned business. I was reluctant to carpet the house int he first place, but both Lynne and Dot friendly as well as efficient and I enjoyed working with them. I couldn't take off any more time to work on my house, so I requested that they come on Good Friday when i was off work. I really appreciated their willingness to do this and don't know how else I could have gotten it done. Once they got to the house, the men started in right away and moved fast. I though all of them were experienced and very professional. It was clear they had done this many times before and they didn't waste any time. It still amazes me that they moved EVERYTHING out of every room, closets and all, and back again in one day. They left the house in usable condition for me, reconnecting my tv, rehanging the closet doors, even remembering where I had had some things on the shelves and putting them back. They were unfailingly polite and considerate. The men had arrived later than I expected on Friday and wanted to leave and come back and finish the following Monday. When I told Lynne this would not work for me because I needed the entire weekend to finish preparing the house to be listed on the market, they stayed late and finished. Although this wasn't what they had wanted to do, they were very nice about it and did an excellent job. The carpet looks great. I am thrilled with the results and so is my realtor!

The quality of their service is good. The flooring was under warranty so I did not pay anything. It took several months to process the warranty.

There were several problems requiring call backs - e.g. floor boards that were installed even though they were split or cracked or had uneven edges. When we asked for remedies, they came with a crayon-type product and colored in gaps rather than replace or fix the problem. In areas where we paid extra for replacements, the replacements were not flush and there were ridges rather than a smooth floor. They said this was unavoidable. The detail work was poor, for example, the shoe molding was not done to match up around a corner, even if it would only have been four more inches, they only would do it in the exact areas of installation, not around a wall's edge to meet up with the kitchen linoleum, for example. One flaw in the installation was blamed on us. They also did not rehang closet doors, clean up after finished, etc.

They couldn't have done any better than what they did. They were on time and did a wonderful job. We had a minor issue about 6 months later and they came back immediately and fixed it.

They did a good job. They came and did the job that we wanted and it's been satisfactory and the rugs are still in place. There has been nothing wrong.

Mr. Lucas showed up on time, was very professional and conducted the job exactly as we discussed.

Bruce's installed new hardwood floors that almost perfectly matched existing floors in other rooms. The new floors look great. The installers were on time, they installed the floors in one day, cleaned up thoroughly and replaced the furniture back in each room afterwards. I'd definitely recommend Bruce's.

Overall the folks at Bruce's were professional, patient, and very knowledgeable about their products. They were nice enough to loan us several samples so we could let our new tenants pick a color. They were helpful with information about carpet padding, wear and tear, and cost. The installation went smoothly and they even left us a large remnant for any future repairs.

It’s a small company and they are personable and reliable. Everything went just as they said it would. They are a little more expensive than going to Home Depot or Lowe's but you get more personalized service.

We are extremely pleased with our floor. The installation crew came exactly on the scheduled date and time and did very professional work. I will use this company should I need any additional flooring work. They were wonderful to work with, both in the planning stage and during the installation process.

We'd recently bought the house and needed to replace the carpet in the master bedroom before we moved in. Luckily we'd timed it so that Bruce's didn't need to move any furniture. They came out and measured up, gave advice on carpet to match the rest of the carpets upstairs and advised about the choice of underlay padding we should go for. Their advice was spot on. We could have got it done cheaper, but they were punctual and very professional. The fitters tidied up beautifully. Great job!!

Brought in Bruce Flooring to fix damage done by another company. The other company scratched our hardwood floors beyond repair. Bruce Flooring pulled out the damaged boards and put in new ones. Bruce Flooring was very responsive. Only issue was the weather. Had to wait for a day with no rain or snow to do the job since they have to cut boards outside. Did a high quality job, you can't tell which boards are the new ones.

I had been looking for the right floor for a couple of years. I was almost ready to go with another company about two years ago, but I had to replace my furnace, which put the floor on hold. When I began the search again, despite many new choices, I ended up with the same floor I had chosen before. In the course of looking for the floor this time, I had gone to several stores, one of which was Bruce's. Bruce's didn't carry the floor that I liked best, but Dot had been so friendly and helpful during my search, that I really wanted to do business with them, even though they were considerably farther from my house than the other two. I took the chosen sample in to her and she immediately found two samples of Quickstep floors that they did carry which were virtually identical to the floor I had chosen. She waited patiently while I tried to choose between the two samples, one of which was significantly more expensive (a process that took several weeks), understanding that this was a large purchase for me and I wanted to be sure I made the right choice. Ultimately I chose the more expensive floor, although Bruce's price was less for the same floor than the other two stores where I had been looking. Larry came out to measure, arriving a little earlier than our appointment time, and was very friendly and helpful in answering some of my questions about the installation process. He did have to come back a second time as he didn't realize that the kitchen was to be included in the job and I didn't realize that he hadn't measured the kitchen. Once again, he was there promptly at our appointed time and took just a few minutes to complete the measurements and verify that we had included everything this time. Lynn was very helpful in getting me a very good price from the manufacturer - better than the price originally quoted - and helping me to secure financing. She also ordered the materials and scheduled the installation on my chosen days, explaining that it would be a two-day process. The installers arrived promptly as scheduled and began work immediately. They worked diligently throughout the project, stopping only for a short lunch break. They completed the main living area, office and kitchen, minus some moulding, the first day, enabling me to have the use of my house again (I spent most of Day 1 in the garage with my animals and laptop). They left the carpet in the bedrooms, so that I didn't have to walk around on subfloor that night. On Day 2 they worked on the hall and remaining two bedrooms. Everyone on the team was friendly and communicative, and aside from the inevitable chaos, it was a very positive experience. A couple of things that didn't go perfectly: I didn't realize the dust that would be created from the removal of the old carpet and floors, and the sawing of the door frames, so I spent some time after installation washing all of the linens in the linen closet, pots and pans, and some of my clothes. After Day 1, I realized the problem and was able to move my clothes to the completed closets, so I was able to avoid having to re-wash everything. It would have been nice to know about that ahead of time. I would have packed up the closets along with all the other things I removed from the house. Somehow, the manufacturer's shipment was short and they ran out of floor on Day 2. They immediately ordered the remaining quantity, but because the next truck didn't come in until the following Tuesday, I had to wait almost a week to finish the floor. This was more of a problem because there were three areas that were only partially completed - the master closet, the linen closet, and about half the guestroom and guest closet. This kept me from really beginning to put things back in place, since nothing could be returned to the closets until the floor was finished. In retrospect, I would have liked them to completely finish the master bedroom and linen closets and leave just the guestroom undone. However, they returned at the appointed time and completed the job in just a few hours. There are a couple of places in the kitchen that are only visible when I bend over to vacuum that might have been finished a little better. They are all around the dishwasher area where there is no quarter-round because there is nothing to nail it to, so you can see the edge of the floor and a couple of cuts that went a little too far. Someone has suggested that I glue some quarter-round to the bottom of the dishwasher which will come off with the dishwasher panel if necessary. The only other thing was that there are a few marks and fingerprints on my walls and doors where equipment and materials obviously banged into them or dirty hands moved them. This isn't a big deal for me, as I plan to paint, however if I had painted before I had the floor installed, as many people suggested I do, it would have been a bigger issue. All in all, this was a very positive experience and I love the final results. The folks at Bruce's were great to work with, and I will definitely use them again, should the need arise.

Larry was professional while at my house and I really wanted to give him the job. It wasn't until they were to expensive that things turned and It became negative experience.

We had used them earlier; we already had a professional relationship. So, we decided to use them again for this project. We already had some hardwood flooring from the previous job. So, they ordered the remaining for the room. They came out and removed the carpet. They put down the felt paper. Later, they came out and installed the flooring. One of the companies that we had contacted didn’t call us back, as there was a death in the family of the person concerned. We were looking at completing the work rather quickly. Another company that we got a quote from was very close in pricing with Bruce’s Carpet and Flooring. So, we decided to go with the company we were familiar with. Also, they had done good work for us earlier. They did end up coming down from the original quote. We were very pleased and they certainly did a good job with this project. We are very happy with them. We will definitely use them again in the future.

i used this company mainly for 2 reasons: 1) previous excellent reviews on angies list 2) they were local. 3) i got a 10% discount coupon the scheduling of an appointment for measuring rooms was very quick and precise with lynn. two days later, larry showed up on time for the appointment and was very proficient in drawing up the measurement diagrams of the rooms and giving advice on quality padding. his personality and friendly, professional approach provided me with the comfort level i needed to know i had chosen the right company. when i went to the showroom the next day, i was greeted by a lovely lady named dot who turned out to truely be the 'queen of color'. she took alot of time with me choosing just the right color and carpet quality that would match my needs. lynn gave me a quote that very same day and the appointment for installation was made for one week later...giving time for the ordering of the carpet. the installation crew promptly showed up the scheduled morning and immediately started working diligently. both anthony and jay are extremely polite, neat, professional. they treated my belongings with utmost care in moving them and with dismantle/reassembly. they both constantly kept their work area organized, neat and swept up!! dust was suprisingly minimal. these men rarely take any breaks...they worked VERY HARD!! they removed all old carpet without mess and completed the job by 5:30. my baseboards were built too high by the home builder, so anthony will be back on monday to install baseboard shoe molding. hire this company!!! you won't be disappointed!!! EVERYONE who works in this company is great!!

I had pre-measured my room and was almost taken by another company for extra square feet. I drove straight to Bruce's Carpets to ask about their carpets and when someone could help me get an estimate. Bruce himself came out to give my estimate. He was very friendly and got the measurments right. His daughter works in the office too and she helped me pick out the best carpet for my family. The carpet was installed within a week and it happened very smoothly and quickly. The installers were very nice and clean and did a great job. They even answered all my four year olds questions about what they were doing. I LOVE my new carpet and will definately call Bruce's again when it is time for ANY flooring needs!!
