Description of Work: Emergency Heat Pump Repair: Heat went out in February. I was able to contact BEAMCO, and Bob Bauman came out on very short notice. It was also great that he is a licensed electrician, because the problem was some old wiring that was doing some bad stuff in my crawl space. He was able to rig up a pretty quick fix once he had traced the wires to figure out where the voltage was dropping and why. He replaced a capacitor with one he had on hand (fancier than I needed), and then came back a couple of days later to swap it out for the smaller, simpler one that was all I needed. He also alerted me to some other electrical panel that was deteriorating and needed attention (oops--I still need to do something about that!). I was able to get my heat back on that evening (and I hadn't even started calling around until after 3 in the afternoon). | |A couple of months later I had another problem with the heat, and I called again, and it turned out to be the capacitor (same one, I guess). I never got a bill for that. I called and said I wondered if the bill had been lost because I thought I owed something, but I still never got a bill (I was going to ask why the capacitor failed so soon, but I never talked to anyone--just left a message). So since they did not charge for the second visit, I can't complain. Update: I finally got a bill for the second visit, in August, for service performed in March. Apparently they were really behind on the paperwork part of things, so they weren't giving me a freebie--just being slow on billing.

Description of Work: BeamCo performed our yearly spring cooling HVAC check up. We love this company! We've gotten to know and trust the technician who comes every time (!) and we've found the office folks a delight to work with. I trust BeamCo for all our HVAC needs. Would highly recommend!

Description of Work: they installed a combination Air conditioning & heating unit. Although the price was this amount, I was able to get a tax credit reducing the cost. The men were very neat & explained all of the work they were doing. They came when they said they would, which I appreciate as so many times people say they will come for a job & don't come or call to reschedule. I will call them again in the future as I have another unit that will probably need to be replaced. I would recommend them and I have told my neighbors about them for future reference

Description of Work: Beamco was recommended to me by Creative Electric (another AL company who has done a great job). I spoke to Bob at Beamco about installing a ductless hvac in a newly built addition. He was helpful in determining the best time to come out (after Mike the electrician), and told me that it shouldn't take more than 3 hours and would be less than $300. Phillip showed up right after the electrician left. I showed him the job and what Mike had done. He started the job and I went back to work. He called about 2 1/2 hours later and told me he had tested and was done. When I got home and checked the system, it worked the way I expected. I can't vouch for the final price yet because I haven't received the bill, but I expect it to be around $250. I'm writing the report now because I didn't want to let too much time to go by.

Description of Work: We've used Beamco several times over the years, and always for projects other service providers either really messed up or just couldn't, or didn't know how, to do. Bob Bauman is brilliant (I'm not exaggerating) and hardworking, as well as just really nice and very fair. He replaced a boiler, gas line, and heating system that another service provider completely and very dangerously botched, causing our whole house to flood when he turned on the boiler when the painter had the radiators removed. If we had ever turned on the heating system this Bozo had installed, the plastic piping wouldn't have held and scalding water would have blown all over our kitchen, and whoever was standing in it. (We have two children.) Beamco replaced all of it, as well as thoroughly documented the previous company's mistakes in detail, and also installed an AC system in our kitchen that other service providers said couldn't be done. (They wanted to install a pricey, kind of ugly AC wall unit instead, but still no solution for heat. Bob figured out how to install a bonafide AC and heating system that works perfectly.) He just replaced our second floor AC system in July with a system that will lower our monthly energy bills.

Description of Work: THE HEATER JUST WOULDN'T WORK SO HE FIXED IT.
