After struggling with mold allergies for years, I knew we needed to bring in a professional. After having several contractors come out to provide estimates, A Healthy Home were by far the most qualified. Their team did a full encapsulation and installed a commercial dehumidifier in less than a week!! and at half the price of their competitors. What we were most impressed by was their integrity, no mold scare hype just science and facts which made the process more comfortable and gave us confidence because they stand behind their work and provide a full mold and crawlspace 30 year warranty! They were very courteous and thorough. The dehumidifiers they placed got the humidity level down under 40 %. They then came in placed vapor barrier where the leak occurred. The next hard rain passed without problems.

We were blown away by the work that A Healthy Home did. We called Kip after being told by a local mold inspector that we needed to move out because we had toxic mold! Kip assured us that they could handle the mold mitigation and then even had a 3rd party mold test to verify the results! I would highly recommend this company to anyone.

I live in Florida and hired A Healthy Home based on the information given to me over the phone by the President and CEO, Kip Amundrud (also known as Floyd F. Anumdrud). The company was described as honest with integrity, They also offered a 30 year warranty on their work. Their customers and their needs were first priority. I found all this attractive and hired them to treat my home for mold. I was told a moisture barrier would be installed along with a dehumidifier and humidistat. The cost of the project was $3050.00 which I paid in full. I became ill with a progressive debilitating condition and could no longer travel. Therefore, no one went to the house and saw what condition the house was in as far as mold growth was concerned until the fall of 2019. The house had been treated the end of 2016. I needed to sell the house, so my brother in law offered to go to North Carolina and get the house sold. When he walked in he was overwhelmed by the odor of mold. Upon examination, he found no evidence of a dehumidifier nor humidistat and the moisture barrier had not been installed properly. My family member called Mr. Amunddrud, and he said the job on my house had been properly treated with the dehumidifier and humidistat in place. He said someone must have stolen the equipment. There was no evidence of a robbery, and I had owned the house for 24 years without any trouble. My house was fully furnished and there was a lot more valuable things that could have been stolen than his equipment. My family member asked Mr. Amundrud to come finish the job, he brought out a dehumidifier that was too small for the area. I called him myself and got the same story about his equipment being stolen. The result of A Healthy Home not doing the job was that all my furnishings and possessions had to be destroyed because they were too moldy to save. The air quality had 10 times the allowable mold content. I do not know if A Healthy Home is a licensed business. It advertises as an LLC, but according to reports, it has not been an LLC with proper documentation for years. It says its status in inactive because of Admin Dissolution. I realize I will never regain my losses especially since Mr. Amundrud has no possessions registered to him in the State of North Carolina. But I want to ensure that this will never happen to anyone else.

I spent far more on the project than I intended to, mostly because I have no understanding of the complexities of mold removal. Brent and his dad are so ingratiating that they convince you of what is necessary, and you have no sense of being pushed. I have no reason to believe that there are better services for your money anywhere.

Brett and his father were by far the most cost effective solution for the encapsulation and insulation of our crawlspace located in Sapphire Valley, NC. We are happy with the work they performed. However, I will say that initially I believe that they undersized the dehumidifier for the space (I believe in an effort to keep costs down) that would not have been sufficient enough to keep humidity levels where they need to be in the home. Obviously, being in a "rain forest" presents complexities when it comes to dealing with humidity, but under sizing a dehumidifier is not the way to go. I don't blame them, but I would recommend that homeowners spend some time doing some research and ensuring that they install a system (holistically within the home) that will deal with humidity overall.
