We did not do this work; there is a review from this same person in 2014 describing the work we did and none of it included painting cabinets.

Description of Work: Where do I begin? By the time the project was completed, my home had been damaged (approx repair cost $1k); a previous $3k landscaping project was damaged, resulting in flooding of yard; either poor repair to their electrical extension cables or too much equipment at the outlet blew the electrical box, resulting in a damaged breaker; miscut & damaged wood; jobsite was not cleaned; Never showed up on time or as promised. Personal opinion, but don't think that f-bombs or GD-this/that is professional language on a job site, especially in the present of young children. Even when specifically requested, contractor did not restrain horrid language. | |I would never use this contractor again, and advise anyone considering doing so to make sure you keep your contract very handy, and that EVERYTHING is detailed in writing. This will be your only recourse if - when - a problem arises.

This is one of the few people you just cannot please; It started when we were hired to put together a deck kit that was purchased by home owner and we were hired to correct work that was already done on the deck. The home owner purchased a 30 hour package from us and was upset because the deck wasn't complete in two days and he had overage in materials and time(That he refused to pay) If you feel like you know more about construction of your project and think you can do it quicker, please do, and don't call us.

Description of Work: I contracted with Unlimited Resources to do two "DYI" projects: construct a pergola and install a motorized retractable canopy. |I worked from home the days they came, and was glad I did. The pergola instructions were clear, but it took repeated reminders to follow the directions provided by the lit manufacturer. They made several mistakes in setting up the uprights, which were eventually corrected. I had to specifically point to the written instructions to get them to secure the shade planks appropriately. |The canopy instructions were very unclear, though I did connect the workers by phone to the manufacturer, and also had them watch a YouTube video the manufacturer provided belatedly. |The canopy motor was installed incorrectly, and I am now having to purchase another one. |These guys worked hard, but clearly are not a crew you want to do a job that takes following directions or any engineering problem solving. I ended up paying twice what it should have taken if done correctly the first time. The supervisor offered to have his folks come back to "get it right", but I have neither the time or money to deal with their lack of problem solving. |

A Canadian pre packaged pergola with paper instructions does not always piece together as advertised( and having the video the first day instead of the third would have made a huge difference) and also should not be thrown together quickly. The pre purchased 30 hours was used up and there were additional time and materials that needed to be paid and written explicitly in the contract. Being unhappy with a foreign product or not meeting an unattainable time table is no reason to smear a company's reputation that has hundreds of happy and reasonably expecting clients.

Description of Work: When I called back to confirm time had forgotten & had to check to remember service, then had to cancel because of another job. When came few wks later did a good job on outside closet but left white paint on just refinished deck. I called to ask them to come & remove & never heard from them. They painted small ceiling in bath & did not tape left 2 in of white paint on blue wall. Assumed I had more paint & did not. Paint left on bath floor and wooden floors downstairs. Paint on kitchen floor and wood floors I had to clean. Wood used in linen closet was rough on bottom & pulled new towels. They offered to come back & repaint bath when I picked out color but frankly would not have them back. The kitchen sink where they cleaned brushes was a mess which I had to clean & their was paint on wall in hall upstairs I had to clean. I was never told when they were leaving or knew exactly when they would be back. The men were very nice but the professionalism with cleaning, letting me know when they were coming & then calling about the white paint on my deck in the back & front was never returned.

Description of Work: I didn't really want to fill this out because I like Robert and Kevin and my kitchen tile and bedroom look nice now. However, there are two reasons I would not rehire Unlimited Resources; one is big and one is small. The bigger reason is I really wanted to see more of a breakdown of costs, (more disclosure) especially regarding the laying of Pergo flooring in the master bedroom. I already possessed most of the materials (including ALL of the Pergo), except for all of the trim for that job, but the labor/material costs were over $2500. The job took Kevin (another contractor working for Robert) approximately 1.5 days to complete (ripping out carpet, cutting/laying the Pergo, putting trim around upstairs, waste disposal, etc). As far as I could see, he had little help from the other workman (again, who showed up hours after Kevin and left early--the other guy did not put in full workdays). Thus, the cost seems steep when broken down hourly, but I did agree to it, so it's my own fault. Robert was pretty clear--I just really wanted to get it all done. Mr. Arriaga was friendly and personable--he was easy to be around and professional. Also, Kevin--the tile man who did the most work came early and usually stayed late, and was also very easy to work with. I was very comfortable with him and he did good work--. The other workman usually came late and left early--he seemed less reliable than Mr. Arriaga or Kevin. The costs ended up being much higher than I originally intended or expected, but I was not good at verbalizing this with Robert. The original $400 dollar tile job was for a small square footage (small bathroom, closet), and we didn't realize how little it would cover when we originally purchased--again, our own ignorance--not Unlimited's fault, although my husband did use the term "bait and switch", but maybe we were just dumb about costs, etc. We needed the entire kitchen tiled, a job which was obviously more massive than a closet. I believe the estimate was around $4200. We did not choose the most expensive tile, but other costs were incurred, including the moving of the refrigerator and other appliances, and I think the final cost for the kitchen job ended around $4600. Lastly, Robert agreed to fix the tile & seal around my kitchen sink as part of the original tile job, but on the last day he squirted some caulk behind the faucet and sink and left with my check--this kind of ruined things for me, even though the floor looked great. The tiles around the sink have since fallen off because they were not resealed or fixed--I feel like this wouldn't have taken much from Unlimited to finish and would have left a much happier customer. I mentioned the sink repeatedly, but felt blown off. Again, the floor, however, looks beautiful. I think the kitchen cost was probably fair given tile, trim, complications (moving stuff, etc), but I was left with a sour taste about the crappy treatment of my sink and the cost of the master bedroom work. Some of the finish trim upstairs sticks up in a way that is hazardous coming down the stairs, and there's a couple exposed screws in the trim where people cross bare-footed.

Description of Work: We had our garage completely finished and remodeled. We couldn't be happier with the results!! We were planning to use different companies/sub-contractors for different specialties to keep the cost down, but Robert came in and worked with our budget so that they either completed the work themselves or they outsourced (and managed) a few things. They stained the concrete floor, put in two huge French doors, insulated walls with super energy efficient spray foam, finished the walls, painted, and more. It looks and feels great! I can't recommend them more.

Everything went very well. No complaints.
Description of Work: They removed popcorn from my kitchen, bathroom, closet and water closet. Mud and painted ceilings. Also painted bathroom, installed light fixtures, and installed new faucets. Fashioned a support for a whirlpool tub with a door (to get at plumbing). They did an excellent job. Everything looks great. The owner is responsive and checks in to ensure that the job is being done right and to my satisfaction. I would hire them again.

When I first contacted Robert, he asked me for the list of items that needed work. After reading the list, he wanted to see the home to better understand the scope of what needed to be done. Since we had not yet closed on the home, and didn't have keys, Robert suggested that he contact the real estate agent to gain access. Once he had our ok, he contacted the agent, met her at the house and was able to put together a cost estimate that was comprehensive and very reasonable. Because of his ability to get this done prior to closing, we were able to attend the closing on a Monday morning, and he was able to start work later that same day. He and his staff were professional, thorough, and very pleasant. We are so glad that we hired Robert. My husband and I are very pleased with the work that he did, and will certainly recommend him to our friends and family, and would, without hesitation, call him again the next time we need some work done.

We purchased a "Big Deal" for services from Unlimited Resource. We had several projects we wanted to have done, and wanted to get them done professionally. We had not used a contractor before and saw how highly rated Unlimited Resource is on Angie's List, so we went ahead and booked the service. We had an enclosed but unfinished mechanical room in our shed where our water heater is located. It is a concrete room with a doorway but no door, with two of the walls and the ceiling unfinished at the top. We also had a toilet which was gurgling and a leaky sink. We also had some stone and concrete steps leading to our gardens which were chipping and crumbling, with a retaining wall we wanted expanded. I explained what we wanted done and Robert, the president of the company, came out to look over the site. He came up with a workable plan to execute, and we arranged for a date to begin work. The largest portion of the job was going to be the shed and the steps. We already had the insulation and much of the lumber needed to finish the mechanical room, but needed some plywood to cover the areas to be closed off. Robert and his guys purchased the plywood necessary and got to work. The job was done by two workers, Nathan and Jason, with Robert lending a hand as well as managing. All three were personable and friendly while being quite professional in the execution of their work. While they were working on the shed, a plumber came separately to fix our toilet and leaky faucet. The shed took one entire day, with an hour or so of final touches to be completed when they returned. After determining the steps could also be done within the Deal, Robert ordered paving blocks to replace our crumbling stones, and his colleagues cleared off the broken concrete and leveled the support blocks so the new pavers could be laid on smoothly. Unfortunately the supplier of the new pavers told us they would be available on Friday 3/23 but did not have them until Tuesday 3/28. While we waited for the blocks to come in, Unlimited Resource extended the retaining wall. We reached the end of the time we'd paid for before the blocks were available, but the job was completed to our satisfaction and Robert delivered the blocks to our home when they became available. We paid 1500 dollars for the Big Deal, and an additional 1000 for the materials (plywood, pavers) which we did not already have. I work out of state during the week and my wife works nights, so the logistics of coordinating the plumber as well as the details of the work to be done were challenging at times. We missed the plumber when he came out the first time because he didn't have a way to call my wife, who was ten minutes away when he left. However, no project ever goes flawlessly, and Robert scheduled a plumber to come out when we would be home to meet him. The plumbing and shed completion were very well done and we are happy to have the jobs completed. It was unfortunate the the paver blocks were not available in time for the job to be done, but the guys kept busy and used their time very well on the rest of the job, despite the failure of the supplier. It doesn't reflect poorly on Unlimited Resource that their supplier misinformed them. UPDATE: The blocks ordered from the supplier were expected on Friday and delivered on Tuesday. I was not too upset that we did not get the blocks in time for the workers to install them, but when I returned home and saw the blocks had been delivered, I was very disappointed. We have brown and earth tone stones (by Belgard) in the rest of the landscaping. The blocks we received are concrete grey. Additionally, Belgard has specific styles of blocks used for walls and steps. We wanted steps and got a wall kit instead. I contacted the supplier, who told me that they ordered what was requested. Now we have eight hundred dollars' worth of grey wall blocks which are not suitable to make steps. I am working with the supplier to return them, but will still have to pay for someone to come pick up nearly a ton of stone. I am very happy with the work Unlimited Resource actually did, but I am disappointed with the carelessness of the ordering. I feel that the company ordered the wrong material without any plan for how it would look. Based on the work done prior to the blocks arriving I would have recommended Unlimited Resource. Now that I see what they ordered for the project (and am left to deal with that error myself) I would not. UPDATE 2: I have now spoken with the supplier, who referred me to the invoice for the ordered material. The invoice shows that what was ordered was "cap and risers," which is the nomenclature for a wall kit. No color is specified. The supplier is unable to refund the money and take back the stones, as the manufacturer does not take returns and the supplier provided exactly what was ordered. I then spoke with Robert of Unlimited Resource and explained the situation to him as I see it. To wit, the paperwork shows he ordered the wrong materials, and when it was delivered he personally picked up the wrong material and then brought the wrong material to my home and left it, while no one was there to approve it. As someone who is not a professional landscaper, it took me less than a second to identify the material as being the wrong color, and less than a minute to identify it as being not steps. Yet Robert spent an hour or more loading them by hand into his van and then delivering them to my home. I am now left with 800 dollars worth of the wrong color of stone, to make a wall I do not need, and my steps still need repair. The materials Robert provided are not usable for the job, and he refuses to take the material off my hands. As I said above: the work they did was fine. However, they obtained the wrong color of the wrong material, delivered it without a thought to the fact that it does not match my existing stonework nor to the fact that it is not steps. I now have a ton of stones which are useless to me, for which I paid Robert and Unlimited Resource nearly three thousand dollars to fail to complete the job. UPDATE: E-MAIL CHAIN From: (company e-mail) Sent: Wednesday, March 21, 2012 10:15 AM To: (Member e-mail) Subject: RE: The steps should be in on Friday, I would need a check made out to Poultry Villa for $768.60 on Friday morning. The plumber wont be back in your area till next week so I will look to get a different one out there for Friday. The materials we have already purchased is around 100 bucks and we will possibly need more plywood if you would like to finish the outside walls on utility shed. The Castle wall blocks to finish the retaining wall to the stairs will be another one hundred or so. I'm also sorry if you feel that our company has failed to provide top notch service to you. Looking forward to seeing you out here Monday morning. I will need to leave around 10:00 for work, but Claire will be available until around 1:00 each weekday. Have a good weekend. UPDATE 3: When discussing this with Robert, he told me point blank that all I could do was submit a bad review because a lawyer would be too costly for such a small amount. Turns out this was the one part of his job he is competent and informed at: getting sued. He was right. After spending the time and money to hire a lawyer to demand payment and seeing Robert's petulant response ("Don't contact me again!") I can see that Robert is indeed familiar with the costs associated with suing him, and as such I should have taken his advice on that matter, if on no other.

I hired Rob to complete a renovation that had had gone very poorly with a previous contractor. He promptly returned my calls and emails, and returned a proposal quickly, and was open to the modifications I requested. The work was done quickly and efficiently, but with a very professional looking finish. With my job being a 24hr on call, he was very respectful of my crazy hours, and adjusted as needed to my schedule changes, without loosing momentum on the project. His crew worked very quickly, yet obviously cared about the quality of the finish. My crown and moulding does not show seams, and the paint has a nice gloss. The walls don't show shadows, and the paint was even and has a nice finish. The back deck never looked so good it all its life. The exterior is clean, nicely painted, and has good appeal. The price was reasonable, and matched other quoted offers.

Once again having Robert as the property manager is one of the best choices I have made for my rental property. His company is always prompt and communicate well the things that need to be done, they are also very helpful in giving opinions on what can be done now or wait to save money. They have also come up with creative solutions to problems that has allowed us to do more to the house then we originally had though for not too much more cost. Unlimited Resource is a great choice for Managing and Maintaining our rental properties!
Description of Work: They replaced the ceiling in the bathroom that was covered in mold, added a ceiling fan and venting in the soffits on the perimiter of the house. They powerwashed the exterior, painted all the windows, doors and trim outside. They also replaced some hinges on the front door and fixed a leaking sink.

The whole experience went smoothly. From the first day the crew arrived until the final materials were cleaned up, we were pleased with the progress and work! The crew arrived when they said they would be here, and kept us informed about the progress. They took care to not dirty up our house by putting down plastic on the carpets and removing shoes when necessary. They cleaned up after themselves and never left us with a mess at the end of a workday. We felt they worked quickly and made noticeable progress each day, which we appreciated! The painting looks great, and they were careful in the few touch-ups that we requested. The Punch list was completed in a timely fashion, and we were pleased with all of their work!
Description of Work: We suffered tree damage from a storm in early April, and then ended up with tornado damage from the storm on April 16th in Raleigh. Unlimited Resources arrived quickly to help us with repairs from the tree damage, and then were able to fix the tornado damage quickly as well, as they were still finishing up from the first storm when the second one happened. We were extremely pleased with the drywall work they did inside, the painting inside and out, and rafter and roof repairs. The roof looks as good as new (better in fact!). The workmen were kind and careful. They worked quickly and efficiently. They worked around our dog being home without us. Rob checked in with us frequently to be sure we knew what was happening with the progress, and was very professional. Rob has helped us work with our Insurance Company for the Tree and Tornado damage. Rob was helpful and through in submitting the paperwork our Insurance needed. He went out of his way to make sure everything was handled properly with Insurance, and we are grateful! We used Unlimited Resources to drywall our Bonus Room that was under construction a year ago. We solicited 3 bids and Unlimited Resources beat the other two companies significantly in price. We were extremely pleased with their work, so we were glad to be repeat customers when we needed the storm damage fixed! I highly recommend Unlimited Resources and will use them for other home repairs or work that we need done. We regularly recommending them to our friends and neighbors!
