It was very good. They were very prompt and neat. They were easy to reach on the phone and they come when they say they will. They also finish the job when they say they will.

Excellent work! Tree (and debris) removed without a hitch.

They were very professional and efficient. They cleaned up very nicely. They showed their professionalism with their courtesy. They used their equipment and worked together as a team. If they weren't all needed, the other ones were very occupied. Nobody was standing around waiting for some work to be done. They were all quite busy. Their equipment was all working properly. We told them that we wouldn't get the work done right away and when we called back the day we were available to have the work done, he didn't call back for a couple of days. But, he apologized and when he said he would come, he did come.

Initially, it took a bit for the owner to call me back. Once he did, we agreed on price and timing and the project proceeded smoothly.

Work nicely done and finished. Trees looked good after being cut.

I have hired Derrick of Trees of Caroline over many years (at least 7 or 8 years back). As of July 2012, I must advise fellow Angie's List members that it is virtually impossible to get a call back from Derrick or his office woman. I have now tried 3 times over a period of 5 days to only schedule an estimate. I have left voice messages on Derrick's cell phone, left messages with the office woman, and left messages with his answering service. I have not received the courtesy of a response to at least tell me when I could be scheduled for an estimate to remove 2 trees. So, I can no longer recommend Trees of Carolina due to their lousy responsiveness. I must add that the last time I hired TOC for work (2010) I encountered the same lack of responsiveness and that time the start date for the tree removal job was moved more than once. On a better note, the work they do is careful, professional, and clean. Their employees are skilled at dropping a tree exactly where they want. I am disappointed that their treatment of this loyal customer has gotten to this low level and I will not use them anymore.

I thought they did a very good job. When they came to do the job they did it on the day that they said they do it and they cleaned it up. They did a good job. It was expensive.

I received a recommendation on Trees of Carolina from a landscape designer/installer. The company owner (Derek McConahie, a certified tree arborist) returned my call quickly and gave me the best cost estimate among three to remove several large trees in my front yard. Although, he said he was backed up about two months when I first called him. He kept me in queue while I got other bids and actually started about six weeks after my first call to him. It was about a 3/4 day job for his hard-working, very well equipped five-man crew. I was very impressed with how efficiently they worked as a massive amount of tree debris was cut down, cut up, grinded to pulp and/or hauled off. I asked Derek to give me his recommendations on what to do in my heavily wooded back yard and we agreed on the spot to another full day of work the next day while they were already there removing several more trees as well as the understory of bushes and smaller trees. The results were beyond our expectations in how much better our yard now looks. The specialized equipment they use (remote operated stump grinder, low and fast articulated front-end loader, 18" limb grinder that could eat the entire top half a medium-sized tree in a single feeding, etc.) is all top notch stuff. The work crew members were all experts at their craft and wasted no time while on site for nearly two days. They cleaned up very well before leaving. I couldn't be any more favorably impressed with their work. Highly recommended!
