+ -1 moreThey called the morning after I sent them a request for an appointment and fit us into a slot by noon that day (due to a cancellation). They diagnosed the issue within a few minutes (identified one of the wires was bad), reconnected the switches and capped the bad wire. This left us with a few sockets (out of many in our bedroom) that do not work (which we decided to do instead of repairing the wire at this time); but it resolved the issue to get us power to the room. Really good, quick service.
Description of Work: We had some electrical issues related to a box with multiple switches in our bedroom. It was causing our circuit breaker to trip.

+ -1 moreOur electric panel was damaged by a faulty circuit to our heat pump. We needed to have the electric panel replaced so we could have the heat pump repaired. We were without heat when temps were near zero. We hired Roy Electric to replace and upgrade our system. They came on time the day we scheduled the service. They worked quickly to get the new panel in and electricity back on. They also took care of the permit and worked with Duke to turn off and on the electricity. Very nice people.

Description of Work: Figured out why a circuit with outside receptacles was tripping when not in use. They offered several plausible explanations and offered several solutions, emphasizing those that would solve the problem at lowest cost. I chose one option, and they installed new outlets and rerouted the circuit. They offered to return if the problem was not solved.

Description of Work: So I have been an Angie's list member for about a year now. I need a 50 amp receptacle and a generator transfer switch added to my home. I was excited when I remembered that I had a Angie’s List membership, thinking that by using Angie’s list I would found a trusted electrician. On Aug. 23th I searched for an electrician and found “Roy Electric LLC”, I called and made an appointment to meet at my house on Aug 30th at 12:00. I am an engineer and have a lot of projects going on at work so I planned my work load a week out around this appointment and left work at 11:15 so that I would be on time to meet Steve the electrician at 12:00. At 12:10 no show so I called and Steve answered, I ask if he was coming and he said he was too busy and could not make it. No apologize for not being there. I asked if we could reschedule one day next week in the afternoon. He said he was too busy to leave work to meet for an estimate call. My answer was then I guess were not going to be doing busy then and hang up. Now I am not the type of person that takes the time to write a review on a product or company, this is the second time I have ever done this. But after thinking about how disrespectful Steve was to not take one minute out of his day to call me and tell me he could not make it. Are at the very least apologize when I called and try to work out another appointment time. It was all about his time and he didn’t care that he had wasted my time. Well Steve your time is no more important than anyone else’s. I called my bother and got a few numbers of electricians; he owns a Real Estate company and has a list of contractors he uses and Roy Electric want be on it. I guess I should have called him first but like I said I was excited to use Angie’s trusted list. Well I was very disappointed with my experience; I hope my taking the time to write this review it will keep people from wasting their time with Roy Electric LLC.

I mentioned that I had a few more tasks that they would probably have to come back to do on another day and they were able to do them too! We were amazed! Will certainly call on them again, for sure!!!

I wanted to avoid installing an outlet over the fireplace if it would lead to drywall repairs that I'd need to do myself. They installed the outlet with no need to repair any drywall around the new outlet.

+ 1 moreSteve Roy responded to my request on a Friday with his cost estimate for repairs listed in a home inspection report. He was available to complete the work the following Tuesday. When traffic and bad weather delayed his arrival, he texted me to let me know that he would be about 30 minutes late. His colleague, Ryan, completed the pipe grounding outside in the pouring rain while Steve completed the inside work. Steve didn't charge for the investigation of minor issues with the electrical panel and bathroom light/fan fixture. He gave us an itemized receipt for all the work completed.
Description of Work: Installation of smoke and CO detectors, grounding of gas piping, investigation of electrical panel and bathroom light/fan fixture

He asked if I liked where they would go and proceeded to install the lights. He was very efficient and patient as I asked questions as he worked. He completed the work quickly and cleaned up after finishing. He also took the time to go over a list of future electrical work with me and then gave me an estimate, which was very reasonable. I would highly recommend Steve to everyone and will use him in the future.
