Rachel and her team were recommended by a friend of ours. Since our first meeting, we knew we were in the best hands possible. During our initial meeting, Rachel sat with us and explained the entire home buying process. Her knowledge of the legal and financial environment in the RTP market was incredible. While we've dealt with realtors in the past, Rachel by far knew more than all of them combined. After our first meeting, she even introduced us to a few financial institutions to help us expedite the pre-approval process. Afterwards, we shared information on homes that she thought would work for us and homes that we liked. We knew that our schedules could be difficult (CEO of a company and Physician at a nearby hospital) as both my wife and I work long hours but Rachel was extremely accommodating. Touring homes went as follows - Rachel would arrive earlier than us and do a walk through of the home. During that time, she would write down all of her observations in order to share them with us. She found and explained every potential issue that we didn't even notice. Constantly she would comment on siding, roof, windows, walls, even some of the materials used in the house. She was always prepared with information on the home (telling us what was permitted and what wasn't) and was extremely patient with us. Here is where you'll understand why Rachel is the best realtor in the Durham - Raleigh area. She recommended the home we ended up buying. During due diligence, we found out that there were issues with the windows which were still under warranty. She informed us that in order to get the warranty transferred, we needed the previous owners to sign the warranty transfer. The previous owners were unresponsive to phone calls and emails so she personally went to their home to track them down (more than twice). After basically waiting for them to come home two days before purchasing the home, she finally got a hold of the owner and had them sign the warranty transfer. If that's not going above and beyond, then I don't know what is. Now for the money - she's a proven negotiator and we certainly benefited from her skills. She was able to get us an amazing price on the home. Best of all, she pushed the seller to agree to pay for all due diligence issues (even those that were not deemed hazardous). I've never heard of this happening. I'm sure that those who have worked with Rachel and her team in the past have had the same experiences. She's an incredible professional, the best realtor in Durham, and we highly recommend her and her team for any home purchase/selling transaction. We will certainly hire her whenever we decide to buy or sell another home.
