The crew, Chris and Jeff were very friendly, professional, courteous and did excellent work. They completed all the job to my satisfaction and on time as promised. They cleaned up and verified with me that what was discussed and written up by Norm Reilly has been done to my satisfaction. Norm Reilly was great. On the day of the job he showed up with the crew and introduced them. The estimate and price quoted was based on his attention to detail inspection and pointing out to me what was wrong where other contractors had inspected and missed. He took his time to explain what needed to be done. I'll recommend him to anyone looking for quality work.

Used the painting services of this vendor to finish caulking and painting new overhangs and pennice roofs on our horse barn. They also stained several hundred feet of existing 3-board wood horse fencing and painted the metal fencing on our arena. These guys were awesome! Not only were they friendly and professional, but they did a great job on everything! They pressure washed all the wood and metal fencing ensuring all prep work was done correctly before starting to paint/stain. The end result was a job done well. I will definitely call these guys back for future work!!!

It didn't "go" anywhere because Norm evidently wasn't interested in helping me, so he used the false excuse of "I've got to call you back", knowing he never would, instead of just saying, "this isn't something I can do". I had already said up front that I was willing to wait the "3-5 weeks" he mentioned before I gave him the specifics of what I need. Totally unprofessional. He evidently just wants big bucks jobs, but he dumped me without even giving me an estimate or an honest answer about not wanting to accept me as a client. Who knows what "big job" I might have hired him for in the future?
Description of Work: I needed to have a backyard shed rebuilt with new materials and a small roof leak repaired. The owner answered the phone, took all my contact information first, and asked me to describe what I needed. Once I began to explain the work involved, he interrupted me rudely and said, "I need to call you back". That was yesterday and he never bothered to call me. Obviously he was not interested in doing this job, so he just cut me off because he had decided not to take my request. Just say you can't/don't want to do the work---don't just hang up on me with no intention to take the job or "call me back". I was pretty sure at the time he just wanted to ditch the call, but since Norm never made an effort to get back in touch, I know he was just not interested because of my description of what I needed.

As promised, I called and came by today to give your husband an estimate. I'm sorry you miss understood my intent to call you back yesterday instead of today. I took your information at a red light and started to drive. There was an accident on the road that required my attentions and I had to get off the phone immediately. Would you please remove this ratting as it is very unfair.

I was pretty well satisfied with everything. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. Excellent punctuality. He was very professional. We will probably use them again.
Description of Work: They replaced rotten masonite siding and a bunch of trim and painted the exterior at my rental property.
Norm was very responsive, and met me within a few days to discuss the project then promptly delivered a statement of work. Norm started and completed the project when he said they would. Norm got a quick answer to my questions, called me when additional issues were found and presented me with all options to resolve the problem. All work was completed as promised and I am very pleased with the results, I would hire again and highly recommend their services.
Description of Work: This was a complete renovation for a 2 bedroom townhouse. Removed popcorn on ceiling, added ceiling receptacle for new lighting and fan, new granite counters in kitchen and 3 baths along with faucet and sinks, new flooring in bathrooms, new carpeting upstairs, painted entire inside including trim, doors & ceiling, along with misc repairs.

We did some research and met a few contractors before choosing Norm. Ryan was a pleasure to work with, he is super friendly and helpful. Norm is honest, professional, diligent, accountable and approachable. Norm helped us saved at least 5k, although I do not recommend BMC because of the unacceptable mistakes they kept making( lack of quality control and unacceptable human errors) prolonged our remodeling over 6 months. A friend of us started to remodel their kitchen at the same time as us, as we know, they paid 3k more for the exactly same grinte but only half of the amount we had. We high recommend Reily’s Hadyman Service.

Norm came promptly and assessed what we requested. As we examined the house more closely with him, there were additional areas that needed attention, as they were soft and needed to be replaced. A complete repainting was advised. After getting an estimate, we agreed to all of the repairs and decided to have the house power-washed, caulked and painted. Gutters were to be cleaned, too. The repairs began even sooner than estimated and the two men worked tirelessly on a 95 degree day with awful humidity and got all repairs done in one day. Several days later, power-washing began, then caulking and painting which took about a week. Once completed, Norm came over for an inspection. A couple of very minor points were corrected that very day. We are happy with the project results and will call him again if needed.
Description of Work: We had several pieces of siding on our chimney that were damaged (woodpecker, squirrel?) as well as several other areas of siding that had softened. Some corner boards and a porch post needed replacing as well.

Norm came out within days of contacting him to discuss what I was looking for. After giving him my initial thoughts, he had some suggestions, and after thinking about them, I decided to go with his experience. At the end of the day, I'm glad I did. We agreed on a price, roughly when the work would begin, and I put down a deposit. He explained he'd call me within a couple of weeks to nail down the exact date for when the materials would be delivered to the home, and when the work would begin. In less than two weeks, he called to schedule the material delivery, and within two weeks, the work crew was there. After a single day the old deck was pretty much torn down, and within two, the posts were gone, and marking for the new footers were laid out. Then the rain (as well as some scheduling with the inspectors) kicked in. Inspite of that, Norm and his team ended up finishing on schedule, creating a deck that the other contractors working on the house were actually complimenting me on--they noted the craftsmanship and "solid build"--which should tell you something. Combined with the reasonable price, the on-time schedule, and it was an experience that's hard to beat. In fact, something else that should be telling: I'm planning on an expansion to the deck, and I'll be hiring Norm and his crew to be doing that as well. Oh, and I just got a letter from the Town of Cary that certifies my deck has passed all of their inspection criteria. Good job, Norm!
Description of Work: Replace a back deck with a new deck, build a new deck with structural supports in mind for future addition (girder, ties into existing home structure, larger footings).

We were extremely satisfied with his teams work. He was not our lowest bid, but we decided to use him based on references and reviews on Angie's list. With siding, we were worried about having extra charges from other vendors. Norm assured us that he would not have a lot of extra charges. He provided us an estimate on our initial walk through. We did have some small extra charges for wood rot above our garage door. He communicated this to us quickly and took pictures. The beautiful overhang above our front door makes such a tremendous difference on our home curb appeal. We've included before and after pictures as testimony. Some of the crews left some debris around our yard and we made sure to tell Norm about it and it was addressed. After final payment we noticed a few things that needed to be finished and Norm came back out and quickly addressed them. We will be using Norm's group in the near future for other projects.

Wow. Norm is one of the most responsive contractors I have ever dealt with. He called back promptly; he talked through issues very clearly; his workers communicated well; someone was always available. Very responsive and very professional. Because I am busy and work out of town, I place a great value on getting my calls returned and on having all details settled quickly. Norm gets an A++++++ on all of these scores. Really impressive. And of course I liked the work he did.

He initially said that it would be about 6 weeks before he could start, and asked for a deposit of half the cost. After he received the deposit he called me a few days later and said that he could start on the work, giving me two days notice. Work was started on Thursday, and due to rain the second day of work needed to be postponed to Monday when they finished the work.
Description of Work: Needed two support post for carport replaced since the wood had started to rot. After he started he said he could also replace fascia board and soffit (overhang) boards which I had also noticed was needed as well.
Norm is great, his crews are very pleasant and skilled. He has a mixture of people that can do everything. They do start early. The whole job was completed in a very timely manner. You can't go wrong using him in my opinion.
Description of Work: I had small things and larger things e.g deck repair, install lattice around deck, lower clothes rods, figure out a solution to couch hitting wall and then fix and paint wall, chalk, shore up 2 railings...

DO NOT USE THIS "HANDYMAN" SERVICE!! This work was done 2 years ago, but feel I must write after what we found out this week. Norm's crew took down our chimney and removed the firebox and structure. However, the work his so-called "mason" did was not up to code and apparently left that part of our house with NO support and in jeopardy of settling and eventually cracking the walls and floors. We had a REAL mason come out this week and he was shocked at what he found. No footing in that section of the house, no supports, broken concrete blocks and brick used to fill in the open section of the foundation (NO SUPPORT!), and brickwork outside that was not even straight. Inside, where the "mason" decided to stop laying brick, there was just open space filled in with a HUGE amount of spray foam. PLEASE SEE PHOTOS OF MESS HE MADE OF OUR FOUNDATION. That was just the brickwork and support for the house. We also had to have the siding replaced on that side of the house, which his crew figured out SORT OF (after about a half hour of talking between themselves). They only nailed the top of each board, leaving the bottom of each board unsecured and flapping in the breeze. After calling Norm, he sent his crew back to fix it. There was also a small portion of the roof that needed to be replaced, and instead of using half-inch plywood, they used one-quarter inch plywood, leaving a lower spot near where the chimney had been. The painters did a good job. And, the sheetrocker did an amazing job inside the house, so much so that no sanding was required after he did the taping and spackling! I don't know how Norm managed to hire at least one person who knew what they were doing, but I was grateful he did!! His crew did not even clean up their mess. They left pieces of brick, concrete blocks, insulation, siding, nails, etc., all over. They also stepped on my plants that were 3 feet from where they were working, and ran over the brick I had around my mailbox, leaving that a mess. Somehow, they managed not to break any of that. Like I said when I started, DO NOT USE THIS "HANDYMAN" SERVICE!! You'll regret it!!
Description of Work: Removal of chimney, fire box, and siding; repair of open portion of foundation; replacement of siding; repair of roof where chimney used to be; and addition of sheetrock inside house.

Before we left, we made sure you were satisfied. After 2 years if these problems didn't happen, they probably would not happen. When we did the work, you crawled under the house took these pictures and we discussed no one sees it under the house and you agreed. We matched your brick correctly. The outside of the bricks that showes looks perfect Even in your pictures attached. The bricks were left outside to fill in the chimney hole in the ground so you will need less fill dirt, as requested. There is a footing under the bricks. We follow James Hardy manufacturing recomendation and don't nail the bottom of the siding.

HORRIBLE! Felt uncomfortable from the start, but gave the company a shot due to the "rave" reviews on Angie's List. When Norm saw what we requested to be done in our kitchen he stated "is this it? Is this the kitchen?". Yes our place is small, but how inconsiderate is it to say that when your obviously standing in the kitchen with a sink, oven, and fridge?!? We shrugged it off and went with him hoping the work would be better. One of Norm's employees got assigned to the job about a week later. He showed up early which was fine, came inside and stated that instead of what was listed on our estimate to use plaster for the kitchen ceiling reapir, he would use sheet rock as it would hold much better. I asked if this would change the price and he said he would have to go check with his boss Norm. He went outside to his truck and when I looked out the window a few minutes later his truck was GONE without a word to me! I gave him the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe he went to go get sheet rock at the store so waited 10 minutes. My boyfriend called Norm 10 minutes later and said that his employee had left and won't be coming back. He told the employee to leave and that Norm was going to call to let us know which he didn't do because we called first. Norm stated the price was now changing to sheet rock and would be $100 more. We declined (ridiculous, as Norm was just out a week ago and said a price, why is it changing now?!) and he said "Ok, we will take the original price, we will call you next week to re-schedule". A week has gone by, and no call has come. HOW RUDE AND UNBELIEVABLE?!!?! What kind of business leaves someone high and dry like that without saying a word? The least you can do is have enough courtesy to go back inside and state you aren't going to do the job today, not get in your truck and drive off without saying a word to your client. Be honest with people. I had moved the entire kitchen around so they could easily redo the ceiling that day as they stated they were going to do, only for him to walk out on me. Unbelievably frustrating. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS TO ANYONE! On Wed, Mar 29, 2017 at 4:59 PM, Kelsey Adams wrote: HORRIBLE! I went by and looked at the plaster on the kitchen ceiling. I thought my sheetrock mud person could fix it. When he got there he said it is to bad to repair, it will only crack again. We need to put new sheetrock over the top. He called me and I called the home owner the same day, shortly after. I told him I need to schedule the work and I will get back to him. I called him later and told him we can do the work the following week. He said he is not available until the week of the 17th (Next Week). I guess I will now cancel the work because he has odviouly changed his mind. I did not met the home owner he had his girl friend meet us. Based on what I read, It sounds like they may not have informed each other on our conversations.
