Contractor worked with me so I could do the exterior staining after they did the repair and construction. Excellent job, promptly done.
Description of Work: Exterior front porch was repaired. This involved removal of rotten wood and siding, replacement of siding, porch framing and supports, and installation of hand rail around the porch and down the stairs. Representative came out promptly when I called, showed experience and insight concerning the job and possible materials, and provided a written estimate. Job was done well and promptly with cleanup. They charged exactly what the estimate called for even though I changed/added a few things.

Appointment was setup for the following week between 9 and 10am. At 10:40, I finally received a call from Mr. Reilly explaining that he was busy on another job and didn't realize the time. His end service and quality may have been good. However, with such an introduction, I did not feel it was worth the risk.
Description of Work: Called and set up an appointment to have an estimate on interior painting for home.

Norm was very responsive to my initial call and promply called me back, service was scheduled for the next day. Based on my description of the problem and the fact that no other issues were found the estimated repair cost was accurate. I appreciated the honest feedback on the overall good condition of the roof and hope to get a few more years out of it before replacement. I would recommed Norm to anyone who needed repairs done!
Description of Work: Roof leak repair - I had found a leak just below where a drain vent exited the roof. A new shroud was installed and resolved the issue. I had also asked for the overall roof to be checked, no other issues were found.

Norm and his crew are awesome. His price was competitive to the other bids I received, and the work was exceptional. Norm is incredibly responsive. He was the first contractor to respond to my request for an estimate - in fact, when he first called me, he said he was already on the way to my house to check out the project. And, his attention did not wane after he got the job - we were in constant contact. He power-washed and re-stained my deck and fencing, and added a new outdoor faucet. My fence is huge, so it's a big project. Looks awesome. Clearly, attention to detail and making the customer happy are very important to Norm and his crew. My impression of Norm is that he is trustworthy, dependable, and honest - and that his reputation is very important to him. Between his great work, and that he is a full-service contractor (it appears he can do just about anything), I'll definitely be using him again. I'm already planning a project for him in the fall, putting a pergola over my deck -- looking forward to it!

We had an excellent experience with these good people, who fixed several items left undone by another workman with a drug problem. Everything was done just right. We had a challenging situation with a bathroom towel rack that required installation where the sheetrock was damaged. When we were not quite pleased with the first solution, the company came back and redid the work to perfection. Everyone who came to our house was polite, intelligent and professional, with no mess left behind when the work was finished. We have many more projects that need attention - sadly, some of which were left undone/done wrong by the addicted workman - so we will be calling on this company again soon.
Description of Work: * Bathroom towel rack installed on damaged wall * Misinstalled water line corrected under bathroom sink * Leaky kitchen faucet fixed * Damaged deck door frame repaired * Ill-fitting storm doors adjusted

He came out when he was supposed to but the price was a bit high. He didn't look at the primary issue I needed addressed, which were the gutters being cleaned and we set about scheduling the time. We could not find a time that worked best for both. There was a bit of a mix up and I was disappointed because I couldn't get a confirmation. Ultimately I had someone else to the work.

Project started off slow we did not get permits very quickly. We then had a problem with the footings which required an engineer to come out and tell us to dig 3' deep holes. The builder charged me for the engineer but did not charge me for the extra labor and materials. The footings were holding water and we had to get them to dry out. Once dried they were able to put in crushed rock and the concrete for the footings. The deck boards originally installed were second grade lumber. They contained a lot of knots and were very crooked. The builder took all the boards out and I paid $1030 for the new lumber. They installed the new deck boards and started the hand rails and framing for the screened in porch. The wood used for the screened in porch was not nice looking as well. Fortunately most of the boards were going to be covered so I had them switch out only a few. The builders continued the hand rails and installing all the pickets. Similar with the other wood we had to switch out several of the pickets because they looked warped. The roofer installed the roof and the electrician pre-wired the electrical. The builder then finished off the interior of the screened in porch with bead board ceiling and moldings to match the trim of my house. The painter came and painted the ceiling and exterior boards. The painter did not do such a good job so the builder had him return and touch up the patching job he did. The builder then installed the screen, the door and put in the rest of the molding to make the screened in porch look nice. The painter returned and finished off all the touch ups and the rest of the painting. The electrician returned and finished installing the ceiling fan, outlets and lights. The builder did a final walk through in which I showed him several of the pickets were damaged and a support 2x4 that was split because the bolts were too tight plus the fact that the gaps between the boards were inconsistent. The builder replaced many of the split pickets and the support 2x4 that was split. He also installed a trim molding for the top that helped hide some of the imperfections and provide a more finished look. Nothing could be done at this point to fix the inconsistent gaps. Over all the project went $1500 dollars over budget and took about 3 times as long. The resulting product will serve its purposes and is very nice. Things I learned was make sure you know what materials the builder is using, if grade 1 matters to you request it. The other thing is when you do the footings make sure it does not rain from the time they dig the footings to when the inspector comes out. If I did both of these things the project would have finished much faster and would have stayed on budget. Plus another handy thing is to hire a builder that lives close to where the job is. Not being on site as much meant that I had to take a greater role in the building project to guarantee quality.
Description of Work: Removed old deck. Built a 14 x 26 new deck Built a 14 x 14 screened in porch

The project went very smoothly. Norm and his son are wonderful to work with and are very professional. His carpentry crew are very experienced and meticulous with their repairs. The painting crew were punctual, detailed in their work and very willing to work with our questions and any concerns. We even changed our minds on the paint color and they were very willing to work it out with us, no extra charge. They finished on schedule and cleaned up after themselves with no problems. I will definitely use their services again!

We found a water stain in our upstairs bathroom ceiling and I found the source of the leak in the attic above the bathroom. It was close to where the dryer vent goes through the roof and of course is the steepest part of the entire roof. I called Reilly on a Saturday and they responded that they could be out first thing Monday to take a look. They replaced 4 boots that were cracked on the roof as well as the dryer vent. I gave a B for professionalism simply because I did find 5 or 6 roofing nails the next day in the yard below where they were working . Despite this, my overall rating is an A.
Description of Work: Fixed a leak in the roof and also replaced cracked boots that were found.
Description of Work: They made repairs to cedar siding, replaced/rebuilt window trim, installed three skylights, and built a screened porch on an existing deck.
We can't say enough good things about our experience with the Reilly's crew. Friendly, courteous, professional, good-humored, and completely expert craftsmen. From start to finish, they handled every challenge and solved every problem that our big job presented -- they even knew what to do about the nest of bees behind the rake board! After all their beautiful work, the house looks like new, and friends and neighbors are still dishing out the compliments. We will definitely be working with them again!
Description of Work: Repaired/replaced siding; pressure washed/painted exterior; installed two storm doors; replaced three outside light fixtures; rebuilt two decks, added pergola; repaired steps, replaced concrete porch and sidewalk; replaced two main circuit breakers; framed, insulated, and installed drywall where three skylights had been removed; planted 11 shrubs; removed basketball goal embedded in concrete.
