Roman and his son came to replace my 18 year old electric water heater. He arrived on time, after calling en route to confirm he was on his way. When I'd made the appointment on the phone, I had told him I needed to replace a tall electric 50 gallon water heater, and that is what he brought. But when he saw my existing WH, he explained that it was not a "tall", but a "standard" (By "tall", I had meant "not a lowboy" - I had not realized that "tall" was a different size from "standard". He said if he had to go back to Raleigh to get a standard size WH, he would have to charge me for the round trip time (from my home in Durham), which of course was understandable but gave me considerable concern about both the time and money that would require. But Roman said, "Let's see if I can make this tall WH work in your space - the only concern is whether we have enough length of wiring." He did the measuring and confirmed it would not be a problem, then set about draining and removing the old unit, and installing, filling and testing the new one. He was fast, professional and clearly very knowledgeable - he even showed me how to improve the water pressure in my sink and shower spigots. Most of all, when we encountered the problem with the tank size (which was due to my inadvertent error), I appreciated that he was focused on finding a positive solution - that is excellent customer service, and gets my highest recommendation.

Roman was very responsive--we have used him before-and gave us a prompt appointment to fix our leaky toilet. He was on time and had the necessary parts on his truck to get the job done. He does quality work and uses quality parts and his work is flawless. He is polite, very knowledgeable and has a good sense of humor.

It takes a lot for me to write a bad review but this was an exceptionally bad situation. I had scheduled an appointment for 4:00PM to have a broken outdoor faucet repaired. Mid afternoon R&S left a voicemail saying they could come early. By the time I called back at 2:30PM, they re-confirmed that they would arrive at 4:00PM as planned. At 3:30PM they ring the doorbell while I'm on the phone with a client (I work at home). I go to the door, tell them I'm wrapping up a call and ask them to go around to the side of the house to look at the faucet. 5 minutes later as I'm hanging up I hear their truck backing up my driveway and they are gone. I know they found the faucet because the hose is detached but nothing has been done. I tried calling 4 times over the next hour and left two voicemail but no response. This is the most unprofessional behavior I've encountered from a service company and I'm astonished that they have receives such high ratings from other customers. Independent of whether they do capable work or not, I would not take the risk of engaging a company with such erratic and unprofessional behavior.

Roman actually arrived 30 minutes earlier than scheduled and performed the work efficiently. He was very courteous and knowledgeable. He's my new plumber and I highly recommend him.

Showed up early and was done in less than 30 minutes. Great attitude and it was quite obvious he goes about his work in a professional and efficient manner

They got the job done in about an hour and a half to 2 hours. I liked that he took his time to explain what happened and he had his son to help him. They were very good and I have no problems calling them back. There were no delays with the scheduling and he came out the next day after I called him.

Roman and his son did excellent work at my residence. Like a well functioning machine, they went straight to work - one removing the old water heater; the other installing the new one. Their work was quick and precise. They were punctual. They did specifically what I asked of them - but they also offered choices based on their obvious long experience working in the field. They answered all of my questions. They cleaned up their work and capped off the previous installation - such that it no longer could be seen. Roman quoted perfectly over the phone - and never wasted my time. And, on top of that, what needed to be done was exactly how he described it over the phone. He arranged for the town of Cary permit - and brought over the permit information later when it was available. At no time did I ever think that I was in the dark or unaware of what was going on. We?ve used Roman?s services 3 times. 1) For an emergency where he came out in the evening to fix a leaking pipe under the house 2) To replace the water pressure regulator when he noticed our pressure was way too high during the emergency 3) When we needed to move the kitchen and bathroom sinks, supply lines and drains for a remodel. He is prompt, fast, and does quality licensed work for a fair price We will always use Roman (and son) for our plumbing advice and needs.

We were VERY pleased with this service. R & S came the day after my initial call. They arrived a few minutes early, and took care of the problem quickly and professionally. They found the closest hardware store to get the part they needed and installed it easily. They had quoted me a price over the phone, plus parts. They stuck with the price. We were very pleased to find a good plumber who we will use again.

.We have used Roman for about 10 years after the initial referral thur Angie;s List. He is always prompt, Courtesous and concerned with providing the service at a reasonable cost. We have use him to install a water heater, a warm wate circulations system and to complete some household repairs. We are always pleased and recommend him to others regualarily.

My husband was able to reach Roman at 7am the morning after our water heater died. We didn't panic and saw no need to make this an emergency...no small kids or elderly in the house. Roman scheduled us for that morning at 9:30. I left work and came home to open the house. He was waiting in my driveway ready to go...with replacement water heater out of the box and prepped for install. As soon as I opened the garage door he hooked a hose up to the water heater being replaced and disengaged the gas hookup. I asked if I could watch....he had no issues with that. I sat on the stairs and watched a well orchestrated operation. He told me what he was doing and answered all my questions without hesitation. He was thorough, paid attention to detail, was cleaning up after himself, and he was FAST. From start to finish took an hour and twenty minutes. He replaced the water heater with the same size and brand - appeared to be a common contractor grade water heater...just 13 years newer. He provided a free carbon monoxide detector because he noticed there wasn't one in the upstairs hallway when he was turning on the faucets. He annotated the date the water heater was installed, the code it was compliant with- and the exception that applied, and indicated the expansion tank was installed in the crawl space. Accepted credit cards with a 3% fee, which was pretty much covered by the $50 coupon. He notified me of the warranty period - much shorter now...only 5 years. He did a final clean up and hauled the old water heater away. GREAT experience.

We had a leak under the kitchen sink. Roman and his son, Robert, arrived on time and quickly got to work. He easily repaired the leak and re-worked the plumbing under the sink to give more room for storage and efficiency. He tightened the faucet and soap dispenser. He provided laughs and humor while working. I enjoyed his company and will definitely use him in the future. I have already recommended him to others.

Saddle valve started leaking in the morning. I called Roman and he said he could be there by 2:30. He called at 2:00 saying he was on the way and arrived by 2:30 as promised. He replaced existing cold supply line to water heater to fix problem with saddle valve and gate valve. He also added an additional shut off valve for the cold water feeding the house. All of the lines were re insulated. He also fixed the stop valve on the kitchen sink. Roman and his son completed the work very quickly after explaining what he recommended doing and getting my approval. All the work was checked and the site was cleaned prior to leaving. i was very satisfied with the work and the overall experience. I will definitely use them the next time I need a plumber.

This review is dated. In doing another review on a/c repair, I realized I hadn't completed this one. Mr Kaukereit was punctual/responsive to my call for service. A disappointing and common theme with him was that he was in a big hurry once he arrived. I reviewed the issues that I wanted to have addressed and he gave me a quote for what I thought was going to involve more work than what he actually did. Because the leak in my shower stall drain was an issue/problem that had occurred before, there was some thought process on my part that some plumbing would need to be replaced/redone. When he came back, I'm not sure that he didn't repeat the same process the plumber before him had. He was almost secretive in what he was doing where some of his work was concerned and even commented that "if I saw what all he was doing...I might do it myself next time and not call him". In order to replace the hot water heater, we needed to drain the lines. An unnecessary step in his hurriedness resulted in us needlessly uncapping the well head. Because of the depth of the well and the amount of water and pressure in the lines, it took some time for the pressure to go down. He was so anxious/in a big hurry that we needlessly uncapped the heavy cement cap at the well head (which he didn't help me recap). I wanted to be as helpful as I could to insure the job went well. While he was rolling the water heater to the crawlspace area, it rolled off the handcart. After this happened, he asked if I could "go find something to do...that I made him nervous". Although I'm unsure about his original quote, he seemed to regroup...not that he was more expensive, but that he changed his "services". I thought the shower stall was going to require new plumbing (since this was a problem that had recurred), some of the plumbing at the holding tank was to be replaced with copper. Maybe there was some misunderstanding on my part about those parts. What disappointed and puzzled me the most was that I had to call him back out to repair the garden tub faucet leak. Once he initially repaired it, it was leaking more than before he started. After the second repair, the faucet that he "repaired" opens counter clockwise, while the cold water opens clockwise. It's not leaking, but I won't call him back to correct this.

Roman managed to squeeze me into a very busy day. Came out did the job quickly and professionally and cheaper than the big companies would do it. I will use him again.

Fantastic! He was the only plumber to return my phone calls. He was extremely professional and a great help also looking at other fixtures in the home that will be replaced in the near future. A super nice guy!!! I am very pleased with my new faucet set in the kitchen!

Mr. Kaukereit is a fantastic plumber. Prompt and efficient. Friendly and courteous. He makes it all look so easy, but the job is done perfectly. He has done work for me in the past and I will call on him for any future plumbing work.

He called me ahead of time even though he was only going to be 5 minutes late. I originally called about the outdoor faucet and one of the toilets. I noticed the other issues after I set up the appointment. He let me know that he might be able to take care the additional things in the time he had scheduled (about 90 minutes), but was able to fix all of the issues, even though the rusted bolts had to be cut out of the toilet tank. He let me know about things to watch out for given the age of my plumbing (hot water heater, cracks in porcelain), but didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need.

Excellent! Roman replaced my water heater quickly and efficiently. He was even able to install it in a way that no longer required the stand it was on, and wrote the plumbing code that allowed it on the heater.

Very well. Showed up at exactly the time he said he would. Fixed it and left. Thanked him for coming and he said "thats what im here for". Quick and right to the point. Good guy.

On Jan 9 we woke up to no hot water and discovered our 10 year old gas water heater was leaking. I immediately got on Angies List to find someone who could come out quickly to replace our water heater. I ended up calling Roman at R&S who I have used before for small jobs. I called him at 7:50am, he was on site with a new tank at 8:45am and the job was completed by 10:15am. In addition to being extremely responsive, Roman was aware of updated housing codes and made sure that everything was current from a code perspective. The work was done professionally with good quality at a reasonable cost.

Very well. I received a call back almost immediately and he was at my home in less than 30 minutes from the time I placed the original call. The guys removed their shoes before entering the house and presented me with options prior to starting the job. the work was completed in less than an hour.

He did a great job. His prices were very competitive. Scheduling was flexible, he was able to work us in quicker than I thought. He showed up when promised and got the job done!

My water heater started leaking.and so looked at Angie's list for suitable contractors. I called the first company but it went to VM and then I called Roman's number which came 2nd in the search. He promptly picked the phone, came on time next day and replaced the water heater with a new one. The price he charged my $1050 (which includes the Angie's List discount). I am happy with his service and would recommend him as well. The reason I gave him a 'B' in quality was because of his handling of installation. The water heater is heavy and I don't think it is a 1-man job, but Roman handled the whole thing himself and though he installed it, it was with quite a few dings to the wall. However he installed a pan to prevent seepage and also gave a free Carbon Monoxide detector.
