I placed a service call, and Jared was able to come by an hour later. He was very personable, and listened to my description of what was happening. He was able to quickly diagnose the problem, explained it to me, and had the required part on his truck. He was in and out in under 45 minutes. Another thing I liked is that he wants to make sure that nothing is done that isn't necessary or worth spending money on. I will definitely call him in the future if I need any HVAC work done.

Installation went well. Jared was great to work with, very responsive, and has addressed all questions and concerns. Did a great job!

Called late Monday was responded to that evening, visited early the next day (for diagnosis) and part secured and replaced in the early afternoon and heating working, less than 24hrs after the call. These guys are a 2 man business but are honest, trustworthy and extremely helpful, not pushing more business, just came and fixed my issue QUICKLY and also passed on plenty of advice on how I can maintain, and actions to take to keep things running smoothly. Special mention to Cat - thank you for your help. I would recommend these guys at a heartbeat to anyone who needs HVAC assistance.

Everything was great. I talked to and worked with Cat, he was easy to talk to, explained things that I could look at on my own, wasn't pushy, etc. He came out when promised and helped troubleshoot the problem as well as talking me through the causes and potential future fixes. It ended up being a pretty simple thing, but I certainly felt like no matter what the actual problem was I would have gotten good work at a reasonable price.

Great price, fast service, friendly and took the time to answer all of my questions. Gold star on the forehead. I'm recommending this company to everyone.

I highly recommend Phil N. Great, they truly live up to their 100% A+ rating. I believe he's honest and well worth the call. I woke Saturday to find my A/C not blowing cold air. I found this company through Angie's List and emailed them through their site and got a called back that Saturday. Jared came out Monday morning as I'd asked. He explained his findings in detail and dumbs it down for the ignorant...like me. I am a very satisfied customer who will be calling Phil N. Great for all my home hvac needs.

I HIGHLY recommend Phil N. Great Air-conditioning HVAC repair!! Our air conditioner broke and I called them 10am today and the owner was out to check our system by 11:30 on his way to another job! The callout and diagnosis was only $75 and he gave us a ton of options on repairs- replacing the compressor only, replacing the unit or transferring one of our other units to cool the upstairs. They are small and locally owned so more than happy to spread the word :)

I called at 8AM on Monday, Aug 1. At 10:30AM Mr Pruitt was at my home. He quickly diagnosed the problem, got a new part out of the truck, and throughly tested the (now) functioning system. He explained everything - from how the did the diagnosis, to the obvious failure of the old part, to how the tests showed the system was (now) functioning according to specs. This was the best service I have received from any type of technician. It is comforting to know that I, now, have a HVAC company that I can trust.

If you're looking for an AC repairman with a good attitude and lots of training, Jared is your guy. He came out same day, was polite, and did an excellent job of explaining what he was doing. You might not understand his explanations, but that's only because you didn't go to school for AC repair. It is obvious from the way Jared speaks, that he did, and that he has a lot of experience too. He'll go way into the technical details if you keep asking questions, and since he's a smart fella, he'll introduce pragmatic solutions to your problems. We had him come out, test our AC for coolant, clean the coils, and expel built up water.

Everything went great! Jared was at my house on time and quickly got to work. I originally thought the refrigerant may have been low, but after running some tests, Jarod informed me that he thought the outage was due to Progress energy's load control system. I was very relieved to find out that the load control system was the issue. I called Progress the same day to opt out of the EnergyWise program. While checking the system, we could hear a louder than normal vibrating sound coming from the inside of the A/C unit. I did not ask Jared to do anything about the noise but he went above and beyond by taking 20+ minutes of his time to take apart the unit and repair the noise maker at no additional cost. I have dealt with Corporate style Heating and Cooling companies in the past and will never use them again. Jared is a true professional and shows a lot of passion for his work. If I have any other issues in the future I will definitely being calling Phil N. Great Heating and Cooling, as you should. One more note: If you are part of the Progress Energy EnergyWise program, I would highly recommend that you opt out. They say they are only going to shut your A/C down for 10 minutes at a time max, but mine was shut-off long enough for the temperature to go from 70 degrees to 88 degrees. The $10 you save a year is not worth suffering you will do during the hottest days of the year. On top of that, if you have to call an Air Technician out once every ten years due to you thinking something is wrong with your unit, you have negated all the savings you have accrued from their program. Sorry for the rant.

Great service. Cat came in less than an hour from the time I called. Problem was diagnosed quickly to a bad service switch. A/C was working again in no time! Service was very professional. System was checked for basic operating efficiency to confirm major repairs were not required. No attempt to sell extra or unnecessary upgrades or repairs. I am definitely recommending this company to anyone I know that may need A/C repairs.

Jared Brown was very personable as well as professional. The system is 18 years old and required some refrigerant. Mr. Brown shared in great detail his observations about the system. I appreciated his suggestion that I wait and see how the system performs over the next several months before deciding if it needs to be replaced.

My ac stopped blow cool air. So I called the service and Cat came in 30 min. He fixed the issue quickly. He explained to me what happened. I also asked him other questions that not related to this issue. He provided me with very detail information and with great patience.

My air conditioner stopped working late on Sunday night during a peak summer heat. I sent an email asking if someone could evaluate the problem around 6am and received a phone call by 7am to schedule an appointment. The technician was onsite a few hours late and had the unit working by lunch time. I was impressed by there service for a couple reasons... 1) prompt response asking for a schedule, 2) great communications on when they would arrive, 3) identified the problem 4) spent an appropriate amount of time explaining the problem and 5) serviced the unit at a fair price.

The system was checked out both inside and out and lines flushed.The capacitors were checked and I was told there had never been water in the pan. Refrigerant was good. They cleared the condensation line and cleaned the coil. The price includes a year of priority on service calls and a 15% discount on parts. There is a $75.00 cost if a service call is needed during coming year. I am very happy with the service provided and feel all aspects of the system were checked. Our system is only 3 years old so there were no major problems that needed to be addressed.

This is a great company! They do great work with very competitive prices. I have been using them since I bought my house 3 years ago. They serviced my AC unit last year and earlier this summer but the leak was too bad so a new unit had to be installed. They provided me with a few options and helped me pick the best one for my house in my price range. I will definitely be using them again for any heating and AC issues/maintenance.

Our air conditioner quit working during the night. I sent a message during the night and Jared contacted me early in the morning. By 9am he had come and gone and our air conditioner was working. Exceptional service!!

He came out right away and verified that both units were in need of additional refrigerant and added refrigerant to both units. It has been about a month and a half now and they're still cooling fine. No complaints, seems to be reasonable in his approach to repair vs replace. I plan on using him (them) in the future.

Jared was very helpful when I spoke to him on the phone and giving me an appt date that was quick and within my schedule. He called before arrival and arrived within the time frame he had provided. He was extremely professional and informative. He gave us far more information that we could have expected from a service call. He didn't seem rushed and was willing to answer all the questions we had. I would and will recommend Jared to everyone in the neighborhood and this service area for their heating and cooling needs.

Jared called me to make the appointment and showed up even earlier than expected. He gave me options of how to address the problem with multiple price points, so I could make an informed decision. He was friendly, quick and professsional and seemed sincere in his assessment of the problem and my choices for now and in the future. I will definitely use them again.

I just bought a town home and wanted to make sure the HVAC was in working order. Phil-N-Great gave me a chance to shadow the tech as he inspected the A/C and heating unit. I found this very helpful and informative. This gave me a chance to better understand my heating/cooling unit. The tech was very patience and answered every question I had. After receiving the estimate of all the work that was needed, I scheduled an appointment. They were on time and completed the work in one day. I would recommend them to anyone that is need of HVAC needs. A+ work.

Several months ago, my heating stopped working. I asked around the office and a colleague recommended Phi N Great. I called them and Jared was at my house within just a couple of hours. I was impressed by his punctuality and professionalism but I was worried that this was going to cost me hundreds of dollars. Instead, it ended up costing me virtually nothing thanks to Jared's expertise and honesty. Then last week, I had a leak under my kitchen sink. I called several plumbers and no one returned my call. Phil N Great had impressed me so much that I decided to call them to see whether they might be able to help or recommend a plumber. Jared answered the phone and said he would come by within the hour to look at the problem. I was so relieved to see him because I knew that I could trust him. He ended up having to go to several hardware stores to find a part, ordered it for me, picked it up the next day and came by on a Saturday to install it because he did not want me to go through the weekend without use of my kitchen sink. He also charged me less for his time than he could have. If I ever have another heating or cooling problem or a plumbing one, I know who to call and who to recommend to my friends and colleagues. PhilNGreat is a fitting name for a company that really does make you feel great.
