Jim did an excellent job at my home. He was courteous, knowledgeable, and had the equipment he needed. He did his job expertly, including vacuuming the various cubbies inside the dryer where lint accumulates and also in finding a supplier for an end cap for the exhaust duct and installing it. He then leveled both machines, and checked the washer vibration on the spin cycle when he was done. The bill was $196.20 after a $10 coupon discount. I was very pleased with the service provided by Mr. Appliance of Cary, in general, and Jim, in particular. I plan to call them again, when needed, and will recommend them to others.

My experience with these guys was great. They were able to move my appointment up by several days by coming to my house early in the morning which was great. The Tech, Michael, was professional, courteous and very knowledgable about not only the Samsung Dryer he was working on but some other random questions I threw at him about some other appliances. He took the time to explain everything to my satisfaction. My only ding is I felt the price was a bit high. I needed a new heating element and the price quoted was about 3X what I could get it for on several authorized dealers online (not Ebay). I expect some markup for the convenience of having the part available on the truck but I feel like that was already padded into the labor rate. I dont know if this is industry practice because I have limited experience with appliance repair but 3x is tough to swallow in any industry. They did accept the angie's list coupon so that helps a tiny bit. Overall all I still had to give them an A because every other facet of the transaction was top notch and hopefully I wont have to but will most likely use them again if needed.

I called Mr. Appliance of Raleigh, and he said he did not service my area and said to call Mr. Appliance of Cary. I called early in the morning and the appointment was to be the same day 1 - 5 PM to look at our freezer and refrigerator. Mike, the repairman called around 4 to say it would be more like 5:30 and would that be ok? Since the food was thawing we wanted him to come. He called after 5:30 to say it would be later, and arrived around 7 PM. Even though he did not arrive in the set time frames, he kept me informed of his delays all along. It only took him a few minutes to determine that the cost of repairing our 4 year old Danby freezer, which had a Freon leak, was more than the original cost of the freezer, He looked at the refrigerator in our garage which leaked water at times, and determined that the drain pan and tube were clogged and frozen over, therefore we had him clean it out as water was frozen in the bottom of the freezer. Mike was very polite, pleasant, and seemed well versed in appliance repairs; he brought his own mat to wipe his feet on and wore booties over his shoes. I like that they guarantee the repair for 1 year. The repair cost only a little more than just the service call would have been. I have used Mr. Appliance before in Wilmington, NC and was satisfied with that repair also.

Pros - Online scheduling - Prompt, polite, and knowledgeable service technician - Problem area explained and alternatives solutions offered Cons - Fees were not clearly explained, balance on work order was a surprise.

I am a mechanical engineering and I researched the issue with hopes of doing the repair myself. When I realized that this was a complex issue with symptoms of refrigerator too warm (`45 F) and freezer too cold (-15 F), I called Mr Appliance. Apparently Mr. Appliance is a franchise and the reviews posted for Mr Appliance of Raleigh were not applicable to Mr Appliance of Cary - though I originally thought that they were the same company. My issue was ice condensation occurred near the top inlet from the freezer to the refrigerator compartment. It took two visits, the first was to determine what was going on. Then considerable research was performed by technician on the phone and by web. Then later in the week the crew came back and replaced the door hinge cam that was worn and causing the refrigerator door to not close snugly. This was the correct solution - since it resolved the issues. However, I ended up having to tighten the screws on the door hinge, where the cam was replaced, because they were not properly torqued resulting in uneven closure. I had high expectations because of the reviews that I read (for the incorrect provider - Mr Appliance of Raleigh). All in all, Mr Appliance of Cary did solve the problem at a reasonable price, though it took more time than I expected.
