We have a huge, twisting crawlspace area which was beginning to have moisture issues and had several areas with torn insulation and ripped plastic sheeting. Dennis came out for the initial inspection and spent a long time squirming through and photo-documenting the entire crawlspace, including the back half which has a very tight ~2' height. Seeing pictures of those dark corners was eye-opening with numerous torn up areas thanks to various wildlife getting in. The price of the job reflected our complex crawlspace layout and the amount of work involved. The team spent several days here extracting all the old insulation, cleaning everything out, treating mold areas, then completely sealing the crawlspace including blocking the existing vents. Overall a huge job that was extremely well done. The result is so much nicer that before. We highly recommend their services.

I found HHR from Angies List after we had a horrific experiencing with another provider. We found the other provider from an Angies List Big Deal. I am pretty sure I will not purchase any more of those after our experience. While the other provider, Triangle Reconstruction, dragged their feet for 2 weeks to complete a 2 day project, we learned they were ripping us off. Not knowing what to do I got on Angies List and called 3 other highly rated providers. One was willing to give me a quote without seeing the project (no thank you sir), one did not call me back, and HHR offered to come look at our situation and provide suggestions, at no cost. Dennis came to our home and was very blunt about what was going on in our crawl space and explained why what TR was suggesting to do would not remedy our moisture issues. He explained what was needed to do to remedy them. It made sense. He provided us with an inspection report that we used to make TR a settlement offer. Once they accepted our offer (which was very quickly) we got on Dennis and his company's calendar to come to our home and do the project. It was done when they said it would be, it took as long as they said it would (2 days), they cleaned up after themselves, and they did a fantastic job. There are a lot of companies doing this type of work. I highly recommend using HHR owned and run by Dennis and Ruth C***. I have no doubt they will make sure your issues are remedied and working with them will be stress free!

I called Healthy Home Restoration after i discovered nearly one foot of standing water in my crawl space. I called in a panic and the owner, Dennis C***, probably noting my sense of panic, told me his schedule was full, but he could come out to take a look. Dennis came to my house within an hour, well dressed and with perfect manners, and immediately went under my crawl space. Within 10 minutes of inspection in my crawl space, Dennis was able to explain to me in terms I could understand, exactly what was wrong. Dennis, the owner of this company, basically gave me free advice. He told me exactly where to look for the issue and how to resolve it. Now I'm no handyman, but Dennis assured me if i looked 30 yards from my house in my yard, I would be able to find the pipe that was causing the issue, and to just make sure nothing was blocking it. He told me if I wasn't able to solve the issue he would come back and handle it for me. His instructions were spot on, and I was able to solve the issue in minutes. Many thanks to Dennis!!! I had assumed this was going to cost me between $1,000 - $5,000. Instead he gave me honest and free advice! While I'm sure others will have more serious issues than I had, and Dennis and his company will have to charge for work done. ... However his effort and honesty for my house and issue shows that when dealing with Dennis and Healthy Home Restoration you are dealing with an honest businessman.

HHR was very professional, and the work was beautiful. They were more expensive than other quotes I got, but they were worth it with one exception. The finished basement is spectacular, similar to the pictures they showed me upon getting the estimate. The only issue I found was that there was a small hump of concrete and dirt in the corner of where the cement slab is placed and they did not cover that with the moisture barrier or insulation. They probably figured it didn't need it. But when it rains this area becomes damp and objects sitting near it get moldy, so I still have a similar problem that I was hoping would go away completely. I wanted to call them to come back and do something about this area, but I didn't discover the issue until months later after days of rain had revealed the remaining problem. All in all it was fantastic work and I would recommend them.

It took months for me to make a selection on this job. I knew we should have the work done, but it wasn't an easy decision. None of the quotes easily matched up, but Dennis was great at answering my questions as I tried to compare apples and oranges. I was surprised not to see Dennis while the work was being done. To my knowledge, he did not come to the job site while the crew was here. He came out the following week to do a walk-through, took photos and arranged for final repairs to be done. The original work order stipulated that HHR would remove dryer lint from all surfaces and check the vent for leaks. This proved to be insufficient - and potentially dangerous. Once the dryer hose was sealed behind the new liner, we started to have serious issues with our dryer as the vent was totally clogged and the lint had no where to go. If we had continued to use the dryer, we would have either burned out the dryer motor or possibly had a fire. Even though Dennis said that the work order didn't call for cleaning out the dryer line, he had his crew come back and clean the accumulated lint out of the line. It's too soon to tell if this investment will really make a difference in our air quality and energy consumption, but we'll be keeping an eye on the crawlspace and our utility bills.
Description of Work: We had mold in our crawl space removed along with the existing vapor barrier and insulation. The area was thoroughly cleaned, HVAC supply vents and a blower were installed, and then the space was sealed.
I chose HHR to provide an estimate for conditioning crawlspace after looking at many companies on Angie's List. Dennis came out and looked over space, made recommendations and we discussed options and alternatives. I decided to have HHR go ahead and condition the crawlspace. Estimate included removal of nasty old wet insulation that a possum had torn down, and then conditioning space as detailed above. The work crew arrived on the appointed day and worked diligently for 3 days. There was considerably more mold that needed to be removed than was initially thought, that added part of a day to the timeline. The work crew left the area neat and orderly at the end of each day. Upon completion, Dennis came back for inspection and final walk through. We are very impressed with the quality of the workmanship, the safety, neatness and look of the crawlspace now, plus we gained dry, ample storage space since this area is now usable. In addition, although there was significantly more mold to remove than was estimated, the estimate held firm. A competitor bid on this job and his estimate was more than double HHR and included a separate but unnecessary dehumidification unit. I highly endorse and recommend HHR.
Description of Work: We had HHR condition the crawlspace of our home, by removing existing vapor barrier, organize wires and cables, clean mold on wood, apply antimicrobial to wood, regrade drainage in one corner, install sealed liner on floors, walls and piers, insulate foundation walls and box headers, and install 1 HVAC supply vent. They also had to remove wet insulation and debris from when a possum had lived in the space.

Dennis told us what was causing the mold and what we could do about it. He have us two options, both detailed and both with drawings. He was available to discuss the pros and cons of each option and his prices seemed reasonable. Ultimately, that particular crawlspace was not my problem, but I will call Healthy Home Renovation for any crawlspace issues in the future.

Mr. Dennis C*** thoroughly inspected my crawlspace, a 2400 square ft. home. He explained what the situation was and clearly described what would solve the problems. What he said made good sense. His reasoning was sound and based on significant experience. He explained accurately what he would do, we decided on a date and the job was accomplished as promised. It has been over a month now since completion and what I have is a clean crawl space where there once was active mildew and fungus growth. There is a continual drying process going on, thanks to a simple, effective exhaust system. I was kept informed by his pleasant office help before the work began and during the process. The weather was partly rainy and difficult but it still took less than a week. There was no debris left and I was never inconvenienced. Recommendation? You bet!

It went very well and very smoothly. The workers arrived promptly on the first day & did all the demolition. This lasted a few hours. Later that day the fans were delivered & set up. The owner of healthy home restoration would stop by a few times over the next 3 days making sure everything was progressing on schedule. When the drying phase was complete the repair & painting phase was completed in about 2 days. When the job was done it looked great. You would never know we had had a problem.

I knew for 2 years that there was moisture in my crawlspace. I had many companies come out to give me quotes. I was just not satisfied with the different companies, the speech seemed scripted to what the respective company wanted to sell you. I was actually looking on Angie's list at a review of another company and read about a person was not satisfied and they commented that he wished he had gone with Health Home Restorations. So I called them and Dennis came out. He was very thorough in looking at the crawlspace and came up with a plan specific to my crawlspace. He described in detail what would happen and answered my millions of questions. Work I had done included : --Sealing off all air flow into the house --Minor mold removal --Removed all the insulation --Raked the ground to make it level (which none of the other companies said they would do). All the while had air flow from under the crawlspace to take out as much 'dirty air' while they were doing the cleaning. --A system was installed similar to that used for Radon that helped get gases and such from underneath the vapor barrier out. --Installed and sealed the vapor barrier on the ground, going up the piers and walls. --Installed a cap to the runoff pipe Then installed insulation board around the walls and on the crawlspace door. When my husband came home, he went into the crawlspace checking it out. He said not only did they clean the little bit of mold, but they cleaned every beam which is something I did not know they were going to. My husband was extremely impressed with the workmanship. Dennis the owner came out next and did his own inspection. I would highly recommend this company for any of the services that they offer. I wish every company would offer the professionalism I received. Cheers to Dennis and Ruth and William (sorry forgot the other guy's name) for your Excellent services.

Dennis took pictures of the crawlspace to explain the issues that needed to be resolved, provided a detailed drawing of the work that needed to be performed and prepared a detailed cost estimate. The plan was to clean out the entire crawlspace, remove the insulation from under the house, open some ductwork to condition the area, seal the entire area, install a blower that fed any excess moisture outside and make sure the house foundation drain was draining properly. Work began on schedule, the area was kept neat and clean during the entire project and work was completed as scheduled a few days later. We were updated every evening regarding the work that had been accomplished that day and notified of what to expect the following day. The finished crawlspace was beautiful...clean and completely sealed. Every aspect of the finished work was as advertised and we could not have been more satisfied.
Description of Work: We were experiencing a musty smell in the house when it rained and thought we had a leak in the roof because we had already paid a contractor to seal the crawlspace. Dennis of HHR determined we had a moisture issue in the crawlspace and explained that the work performed by a previous contractor was useless in dealing with the issue.

Dennis wasn't able to fulfill my requirements for fixing the water damage, mitigating mold, framing, flooring, and porch construction. That's not what their core business is. My dishwasher malfunctioned and water was leaking out on my hardwood floors on a Thursday evening. After shutting off my hot water flow to the dishwasher and cleaning up the water, I was trying to figure out what to do re. the cupping and possible damage to the hardwoods/under cabinets/etc. I called HHR on Friday afternoon and Dennis showed up at my house within 2 hours. He was willing to start the dehumidification/fan process the next morning (Saturday), but unfortunately, told me at that time couldn't set up the injectidry system until Monday. I was concerned about waiting until then, since I read the drying should ideally be started within a day and a half. So, I ended up calling another Angies list contractor who could do it sooner. When I called Dennis to let him know that I decided to use someone else, he said that since talking with me he had actually arranged to set up the injectidry sooner but hadn't told me yet. In the end, I stuck with the other company, but I would seriously consider HHR for future crawlspace sealing. I think Dennis and his company are small and are the type of company I generally like doing business with for that reason. There is a personal element and commitment to customers evident that is hard to achieve with a large company. Again, I would highly recommend HHR, will hopefully use them in the future, and would have probably used them this time if it weren't for the time factor (i.e. if this had happened during the week).

Like many houses in this area, mine, which was built in the mid-80's, had a fair amount of moisture in the crawlspace floor and was beginning to get some mold growth on the floor joists, despite having a plastic vapor barrier covering the floor. After doing a fair amount of research, I decided to go with the relatively new method of crawlspace encapsulation to remedy the problem. I contacted Healthy Home Restoration and the owner, Dennis came by that day. He inspected the crawlspace and laid out the various options for dealing with a damp crawlspace, including encapsulation, which reinforced my belief that this would be the way to go. He gave me a very detailed description of the work that would be performed and what the work would accomplish. After the work was scheduled, the crew showed up right on time. The job took about 3 1/2 days and was performed very professionally. When the work was finished, Dennis returned for a final inspection and took me through the crawlspace to show me exactly what was done and why. My crawlspace is now clean, completely dry and largely free of insects and other pests. I couldn't be more pleased.
Description of Work: Cleared crawlspace of old vapor barrier, and debris. Removed insulation. Cleaned mold off wood surfaces and applied an antimicrobial agent to the wood. Organized wires and cables. Sealed all penetrations at subfloor and walls, sealed the HVAC return box and blocked off the foundation vents. Installed and sealed liner for crawlspace floor (approx. 1500 sq ft), walls and piers. Installed a 180+ cfm blower and underliner vent. Installed a new insulated crawlspace door. Installed 2 HVAC vents in crawlspace and insulated the box headers.

I could not be more happy with the job they did. We had a very small affected area so we didn't need the full on hazmat team (one company said we had to do $475 worth of mold testing before they would even give an estimate), but wanted to be sure that we got everything that was affected removed and cleaned. Dennis showed incredible personal attention, made sure the job was done right, checked areas we hadn't though to ask about to be sure the moisture was contained. He seemed really concerned with our welfare and that we felt satisfied. We did!

e bit sooner than HHR. But I believe HHR would also have been a good choice.
Description of Work: Dennis at HHR was one of three potential vendors that I called to repair the rotting eaves on the corners of my house. The sealant had decayed to the point that the gutters were leaking and water was rotting the wood. So Dennis came out, looked at the problem, and said he was going to send over one of his experts to diagnose further. Which he did. Dennis even rescheduled that person when I found I had a last minute conflict. Dennis was funny, professional and courteous. I trust that his work, had I chosen his company for this project, would've reflected the same level of professionalism and quality. I would call him again. I ultimately chose another vendor simply because his price was slightly less, and he could start a littl

Everything has gone as planned and I appreciate the thoughtfulness of planning the job. These projects can be costly with pricing all over the map, so I spent some time finding the right contractor asking a lot of questions. I plan on using them on another job this year. Give them a call.
Description of Work: I had standing water under three porches and a sump pump drain pipe that was broken not getting water away from the property. Contractor devised some addition pipes to not only drain the water out, but also use gravity to bypass the need for the sump pump running the line all the way to the street for discharge. They also cleared out debris in the crawlspace, leveled the dirt and placed plastic and added some gravel. This was for a triplex building approx. 1800 sq. ft. area.
