This was a very difficult job as my crawl space is very low (only about 18 " high), and workers spent many days and had to do entire job crawling on their stomachs. They cleaned up mold and encapsulated the crawl space. They were excellent, hard working, well trained, professional, and diligent. Although the initial work resulted in a chemical odor, they persevered, and eventually were successful after trying a variety of treatments. They continued to suggest more advanced treatment in order to totally alleviate the issue. Business owner, Dennis ****, conducted extensive research to identify and treat cause of chemical odor. He continues to inspect and test air quality to ensure my complete satisfaction. Air quality readings are excellent.

HHR fast tracked our house - after the workers finished, the owner (?) of HHR inspected the job, and felt that a couple of areas needed a bit of additional work (which he did himself). I feel as if he treated our house as if it were his own. Highly, highly recommended...couldn't be happier.

Dennis and his crew did a terrific job sealing the crawl space. Dennis provided a highly accurate estimate and description of the work. Ruth provided scheduling and updates on crew progress. And the crew worked efficiently to get the work done. The resulting work looks terrific, and I'm pleased to have a definitive solution for this problem.

Dennis did the initial review and estimate. He was the most thorough of all the companies asked to provide proposal. He explained the pros and cons of the various options and did not try to oversell or "scare" us into one option. He was quick to answer follow questions and was always very professional and patient in answering my questions. The crew that did the actual work, arrived promptly everyday, kept the work area clean, and kept me apprised of their progress. At the end of each day the crew leader walked me through what was done, answered my questions and addressed any issues that arose. In short, the work was done as promised... on time and in a high quality fashion. Dennis returned the day after completion, did a complete walk through and inspection to ensure the quality. I would highly recommend HHR. A family run business that understands that the customer is at the root of their business.

It went extremely well! I was not charged for the inspection. Fortunately, he did not think it warranted a large-scale remedy and gave me pointers on how to get rid of it. He also let me know of things I could do down the line once I'm ready (financially) to seal up my crawl space.

Went very well. Of the three estimates, HHR was the most detailed and specific to my needs, and fairly priced. The team arrived on time and finished early. Was very pleased.

Dennis was very personable and knowledgable. He came out to inspect the crawl space and told us what he thought would work for the space. He didn't give us a fancy, sales person presentation like another, larger company we also interviewed for the work. He was direct and didn't try to sell us anything we didn't need. The crew was great and got the work done within a week of starting the job. The town inspector was extremely difficult and picked out a couple things that needed re-working. Dennis, Ruth, and the crew were fabulous coordinating contact with the inspector and working on the punch list to get the work done. Now our crawl space is clean, dry, and odor free. We are extremely happy with the work HHR did and would not hesitate to use their services again.

I called for a vapor barrier inspection and replacement and scheduling the quote appointment was easy enough. The day of the appt, the technician who was going to look at my crawl space was running 45 mins late but we agreed that he could access the crawl space without me being there. Once he reviewed the crawl space he called me back to say he recommends a full encasement costing around ~3K (what a jump from $300 vapor barrier replacement). I ask him to explain it further and he says he needs to show me, fine. He says He will call the front office to schedule another time to meet. Well a week later I call asking him what happened and he says he forgot to send me a quote/details and to call the front office to setup time for us to discuss. I'm at he two week mark, I still haven't heard a word from them (and I was curious on the crawl space encasement) and I'm going to just call another company.

We have always had problems with drainage in our backyard. After any rain, our backyard was extemely muddy to the point you could even walk in the grass without getting a shoe stuck. We contacted Dennis, and he came up with a solution to divert our downspout drains around to the front of our home using a dry creek system. It was a big project, and it involved a little more than they bargained for, but they got it done. Jiovanni was the point man on site, and he was great. Despite the digging, the grass got put back carefully afterwards. We have had a good but of rain since the job was done, and our backyard is much better than before.

We really enjoyed working with Dennis, Ruth, and Jiovanni. They were very knowlegeable, responsive, and detail oriented. The job was done well and not rushed. Our crawlspace looks great, and we hope this helps with our energy bills and prevents mold.

We had to reschedule a couple of times, but once it was definitely arranged, they came at the time scheduled on the day scheduled. I asked for pictures since I never go in the crawl space, but they were not able to provide any clear pictures of the work done nor of the space when they first went under there.

Dennis and crew turned up as scheduled and did a phenomenal job with the crawl space. They cleared out the existing disintegrated crawl space vapor barrier, cleaned out minimal mold growth, treated it with anti-microbial and laid out a new vapor barrier in the entire crawl space. They did an outstanding job. The pest control company that treats our house remarked that ours was one of the cleanest crawl spaces they have seen. Very nicely done. Thank You Dennis and Ruth

He was very well intention-ed and told me what he thought about the situation. Gave me some information on the metal bracing and it doesn't need repairing or replacing at this time. He explained why and told me what to check for in the future. He told me if I needed something done in the future what it would take and the approximate cost. He was very thorough, knowledgeable, and honest. I would use him for the future work I may need done on the metal braces under my porch.

Good. He was thorough, had lots of stories and explained in depth about sealed crawl spaces.

So far just a thorough inspection and recommendation. We plan to have the work done in May or June of 2016.

Excellent experience. Very happy with all aspects of the work. Workmen were on time and cleaned up worksite every day. I usually do all my home repairs and improvements (except roofing) myself because I'ved never been satisfied with the quality of other's finished work. My crawl space is 7 to 9 feet tall and butts-up against a walkout basement/garage making it easy for me to inspect all of HHR's finished work to see if I found anything I'd want them to correct. Everything looked great.

HHR was probably the middle bidder of three for my business, but I found their solution to be the most comprehensive solution with high grade materials. I did my homework on the materials to make sure this won't have to be redone in 5 years - I advise others to do the same as I found materials used by others to be of questionable quality. The two man team for HHR turned up on the day scheduled, on time, and worked hard every day until the job was done. It's a tough job, but they powered through it. The crawlspace area is about 2,400 square feet. Each day I received a summary from the office of the work done that day. It took about a week. They organized the inspections with the Town of Apex. Dennis, the owner (with his wife manning the office), gave me a "crawl through" to show me the work they'd done. I was impressed. The work was thorough with no gaps or shortcomings that I could detect. I'd recommend HHR for homeowners that want a thorough solution to high humidity in their crawlspace from a company that gets the job done on time and for the quoted price. Since getting the work done my humidity sensor has tracked a decline in humidity levels that fall below where mold forms.

We had our crawlspace encapsulated by Triangle Reconstruction in 2015. After a year, we were plagued with high humidity readings and a sensational odor of ammonia. When Dennis C*** came out, the owner of the company, he did a very thorough and complete inspection of our crawlspace, including photos, and unfortunately informed us that our crawlspace was not properly sealed. His pictures showed sagging tape, multiple infestations of rodents, areas where the crawlspace should have been sealed and wasn't, as well as a few other issues (like a leaking plumbing pipe that we were grateful to know about since we are never in our crawlspace by choice). While Triangle Reconstruction had an experimental solution for the odor, Dennis has been installing ventilation systems to correct this issue for a long time. And he immediately worked up a quote to properly seal our crawlspace and install the ventilation system. Plus, he offered a lot of education on the anarobic environment of our soil and the reason why such an odor occurs. When his team came out to do the work, William was very careful to let us know when he left and arrived. They scrubbed and vacuumed our crawlspace for nearly 4 hours to remove the rodents and debris that had been allowed to enter the space. The cleaning agent that they used had a very subtle, nice smell that we could smell throughout our home (which was a relief after nearly a year of ammonia smell). Within two days, they had properly sealed, ventilated, and cleaned our crawlspace. After each day of work, we received a call from Healthy Home Restoration to confirm what was done that day and to confirm the schedule for the next day. It was very reassuring. Dennis came and did a walk-through after the work was completed to make sure everything was to his expectations. The odor has not returned and the humidity in our home has dropped significantly now that our crawlspace was properly sealed. We highly recommend Dennis C***! In addition to arriving exactly when he said he would, he explored what is causing water & moisture coming in to different areas of the basement, going to the trouble of digging down through gravel around the outside. He offered several possible solutions, and gave both cost and time estimates for each. We were impressed with his professionalism & knowledge as well as his responsiveness to our questions & concerns. We look forward to working with him.

Our crawlspace is approximately 1000 SF. We had noticed what appeared to be a light coating of mold on all the surfaces but it was primarily a moldy odor this summer coming from the AC ducts that prompted us to act. We called HHR based on other Angies List reviews. The owner, Dennis C***, came out to inspect. He took photos of what he found and took a lot of time reviewing his findings with us, looking at photos, and talking about options. Just removing the insulation, cleaning the mold, then replacing the insulation would have cost about $2,500. But the conditions in the crawlspace would be the same and ultimately, the mold would have reappeared. So we opted to spend a little more and get the full encapsulation. The installation was scheduled about 3 weeks later. They do have you sign some scary-looking legal forms. If not for all the glowing reviews on AL, I might have been hesitant to sign the forms. I'd suggest asking Dennis go over the forms with you while he's at your house so that he can answer all your questions. It took about 3 - 4 days to do the entire job. We received daily e-mail updates from Ruth C*** and the crew was professional and friendly. The crew made sure to let us know when they getting started, when they were leaving and when to expect them back. When finished, Dennis came back to do a final "crawl-through" to make sure everything was done correctly. I believe that there are many unscrupulous contractors in this line of work. An acquaintance of mine was thinking about having her crawlspace encapsulated. Her crawlspace is slightly larger, about 1300 SF, but her estimate from another contractor was $9,500! HHR is honest, trustworthy, reasonably priced and professional. What more can you ask for! If you think you have moisture and mold problems in your crawlspace, you owe it yourself to call HHR! We could not be more satisfied.

Dennis was wonderful- gave me all kinds of tips on the mildew issue, helped me find and clean my dehumidifier and vacuum cleaner filters, and was very honest about the work that needed to be done and what I could do myself to save money. We did not end up hiring him, but would definitely consider going with this company in the future if we need restoration services.
