Dennis took pictures of the crawlspace to explain the issues that needed to be resolved, provided a detailed drawing of the work that needed to be performed and prepared a detailed cost estimate.  The plan was to clean out the entire crawlspace, remove the insulation from under the house, open some ductwork to condition the area, seal the entire area, install a blower that fed any excess moisture outside and make sure the house foundation drain was draining properly.  Work began on schedule, the area was kept neat and clean during the entire project and work was completed as scheduled a few days later.  We were updated every evening regarding the work that had been accomplished that day and notified of what to expect the following day.  The finished crawlspace was beautiful...clean and completely sealed.  Every aspect of the finished work was as advertised and we could not have been more satisfied.

Dennis wasn't able to fulfill my requirements for fixing the water damage, mitigating mold, framing, flooring, and porch construction.  That's not what their core business is.  Dennis was very helpful in identifying the extent of the water damage and offered suggestions for both personal repair as well as finding a GC to manage the work.  I appreciated their quick response, openness and honesty.

My dishwasher malfunctioned and water was leaking out on my hardwood floors on a Thursday evening.  After shutting off my hot water flow to the dishwasher and cleaning up the water, I was trying to figure out what to do re. the cupping and possible damage to the hardwoods/under cabinets/etc.  I called HHR on Friday afternoon and Dennis showed up at my house within 2 hours.  He was willing to start the dehumidification/fan process the next morning (Saturday), but unfortunately, told me at that time couldn't set up the injectidry system until Monday.  I was concerned about waiting until then, since I read the drying should ideally be started within a day and a half.  So, I ended up calling another Angies list contractor who could do it sooner.  When I called Dennis to let him know that I decided to use someone else, he said that since talking with me he had actually arranged to set up the injectidry sooner but hadn't told me yet.  In the end, I stuck with the other company, but I would seriously consider HHR for future crawlspace sealing.  I think Dennis and his company are small and are the type of company I generally like doing business with for that reason.  There is a personal element and commitment to customers evident that is hard to achieve with a large company. Again, I would highly recommend HHR, will hopefully use them in the future, and would have probably used them this time if it weren't for the time factor (i.e. if this had happened during the week).

Like many houses in this area, mine, which was built in the mid-80's, had a fair amount of moisture in the crawlspace floor and was beginning to get some mold growth on the floor joists, despite having a plastic vapor barrier covering the floor.  After doing a fair amount of research, I decided to go with the relatively new method of crawlspace encapsulation to remedy the problem.  I contacted Healthy Home Restoration and the owner, Dennis came by that day.  He inspected the crawlspace and laid out the various options for dealing with a damp crawlspace, including encapsulation, which reinforced my belief that this would be the way to go.  He gave me a very detailed description of the work that would be performed and what the work would accomplish.  After the work was scheduled, the crew showed up right on time.  The job took about 3 1/2 days and was performed very professionally.  When the work was finished, Dennis returned for a final inspection and took me through the crawlspace to show me exactly what was done and why.  My crawlspace is now clean, completely dry and largely free of insects and other pests.  I couldn't be more pleased.

I could not be more happy with the job they did. We had a very small affected area so we didn't need the full on hazmat team (one company said we had to do $475 worth of mold testing before they would even give an estimate), but wanted to be sure that we got everything that was affected removed and cleaned. Dennis showed incredible personal attention, made sure the job was done right, checked areas we hadn't though to ask about to be sure the moisture was contained. He seemed really concerned with our welfare and that we felt satisfied. We did!

Everything has gone as planned and I appreciate the thoughtfulness of planning the job. These projects can be costly with pricing all over the map, so I spent some time finding the right contractor asking a lot of questions. I plan on using them on another job this year. Give them a call.

Healthy Home Restoration was fantastic.  We interviewed 5 different crawl space companies.  HHR had the most comprehensive plan with a great warranty.  Their knowledge of crawl spaces and their solutions were practical and knowledgeable.  The office was very personal and professional and each day gave us a heads up on what was going to happen the next day.  The work crew also was personable and great at communication.  They discovered that the original drainage plan would not be effective so they expanded the french drains all around the foundation.  No extra charge was added.  The follow up visit answered all our final questions and the owner offered to come back in the summer and check to make sure all was okay.  We would definitely highly recommend Healthy Home Restoration and feel fortunate to have chosen them.

The inspector showed up withing 40 minutes of scheduling the after hours "emergency" visit. He started in the room with the leak and determined how much of the carpet was wet. He then inspected all walls, ceilings, windows, closets, bathrooms, floors, and even the crawl space to troubleshoot the problem (at 10 pm in 30 degree weather)!!!!! He was very respectful and curtius of our family while trying to determine the issue.  I would refer them to anyone!!!! Great job and great work!

The crew arrived on time each day and did a good job. It is a small, cramped crawlspace that is difficult to work in. They did break a cable connection while working but offered to pay for TWC to come out to fix. Every time I had a concern, they addressed it right away. The crew was polite and very neat.

Our home was previously rented out before we moved in.  Unfortunately, the previous tenant had a water leak in the laundry room and did not inform the owner.  The end result was shortly after moving in our entire family starting getting sick.  We couldn't see the problem so sadly it took a little bit to pinpoint the problem.  It was black mold in the laundry room wall and under our house.  As a parent I was horrified because black mold is scary enough but one of little ones has lung issues.  The team from HHR was awesome!  When they heard we had little ones they came over within hours and got things rolling.  They were very neat, timely and took the time to do the job right.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.  THEY DO WHAT THEY PROMISE AND ALWAYS TELL YOU EVERYTHING UP FRONT. :-)

This was our second experience using HHR for water and mold damage remediation. This time it was the master bathroom. We were so extremely pleased with the work they did with the leak under our guest bathroom that we considered no one else when it came to the bigger problem with our master bathroom. Once again, they were top notch. Their assessment of the extent of the problem and the estimate to repair was right on the money. Very reasonable cost in my opinion. Especially considering how so many companies will take you to the bank when it comes to this type of problem. They completed the job on time and with excellent results again. Their communication throughout the project is absolutely professional. Hand down as good a "service" provider as any we have ever worked with. If you have any problems involving water or mold damage in the home, go straight to HHR!

These folks were life savers! After discovering a leak under an improperly installed toilet that had been going on for 7 years, we had a serious situation on our hands. Significant mold and water damage in the crawl space. We had any number of companies come in and inspect the damage and provide us with estimates. The diagnosis and estimates became outrageous! We were shocked at how much demolition some vendors wanted to do. From the minute HHR walked in we could tell they were a straight shooter. They ended up having the absolute best assessment of what the damage was and what it would take to remediate, and their estimate reflected it. While others were upselling us badly on the repair, HHR was accurate and honest. They completed the remediation and treatment for all water and mold damage and left everything in great shape for the construction crew to come in and start their repairs. They were on time, professional, and very courteous. Their office was very proactive throughout the entire project. Quite rare to find! We would highly recommend HHR for anything related to damages involving water and mold - one of the most difficult and delicate problems a homeowner can encounter. Do not call anyone else.

I called this company 3 times. All three times I was bracing myself for a major expense.  The first call was to give us a quote on some suspect mold/moisture in the crawl space of a town-home my parents were in the process of buying.  My parents' home inspector recommended we call HHR so we had them come out and review the crawl space.  After the review, they informed me there was nothing to be concerned about.  To my surprise the cost was $0.00!
The next call (a few months later) was for them to give me a quote on the work needed under our primary residence that I was planning on selling.  We had a washer leaking for a few months and I knew there was going to be some water damage and potential mold.  Once again, to my surprise, the news was good.  Some minor tasks were identified (most of which was not in the scope of work they performed) and they didn't feel any repairs were necessary unless the buyers? inspection proved otherwise.   For a second time, this company cost me $0.00!
The third call was for a house we made an offer on and our inspector had some serious concerns regarding the condition of the crawl space.  He advised us to bring in an expert to test the moisture levels and to inspect certain "suspect activity".  Without hesitation, I knew exactly who to call.  This time I asked for a formal inspection so there was a $125 inspection fee (which was later applied toward the overall cost of the project.)  After the inspection, we received a 45-minute consultation.  We learned there was, in fact, a significant moisture problem as well as some areas with mold.  The inspector told us that even though the issues were substantial, they were correctable and that we shouldnt let these issues deter us from purchasing a house that we loved.
The project quoted for $7,950 and involved:
1) Digging a trough around the interior perimeter of the crawl space (approximately 2,300 sf crawlspace) which would capture any water seeping in from outside and drain out the of the crawlspace at the lowest point. They ran the drainage to a convenient location near our house.  The entire trough was filled with pebbles for filtration.
2)  Remove all the insulation and treat/scrub any moisture areas to remove any mildew/mold.  Also cleaned/organized any wiring as well as removed any debris.
3)  Seal the crawl space with ground plastic as well as up the sides.  Also permanently sealed all the crawl space vents so there was no ventilation from outside.
4)  Tapped into the HVAC system with multiple vents so that the crawl space is warm in the winter time and cooled in the summer time (actually improves the HVAC efficiency).
5)  Suggested using the existing vapor barrier which was in good enough condition (with some minor patch work) to help save costs.
We used this quote as part of our negotiations with the buyers.  We ended up buying the house and hired HHR to do the work they quoted.  They were booked for a month so they came out immediately and temporarily installed a dehumidifier to help control the atmosphere and keep the conditions from getting worse.  They also provided us with a radon meter to monitor the radon levels throughout the house during that timeframe.  Once the real work started, they called me every day to let me know when their team would arrive and give me status updates.  The workers were always on time, polite and happy to answer questions.  I have never dealt with a more professional company.
The end result is amazing.  I have had two different workers come do other work, which required them to go into the crawl space. They were both amazed at the condition.  One said it was "the best crawl space experience he ever had" and they complimented the work without me asking.  I recently spent 4 hours under there running speaker wire for a surround sound system and can't believe how immaculate the crawlspace is.

Chris was a meticulous worker, setting up a "clean" room around the half bath. He was considerate of us, being as unintrusive as possible under the circumstances. He was prompt and courteous. It was also Chris who found the cause of the mold - the exhaust fan ductwork had become separated from the outside vent. He kept us informed throughout the process and finished the job on time. And he cleaned up everything at the end including wiping down the hardwood floors as he backed out to our front door. I would hire this company again in a heartbeat.

HHR was professional from the start. Dennis was punctual and efficient when conducting the initial inspection and providing a quite. He and Amy patiently answered all my questions before I committed to the project. They performed the work in two stages... mold remediation first. They were very thorough with different workers coming by at different times to inspect each other's work and make sure they got rid every last spot of mold. They also used a dehumidifier for several weeks in advance of the second phase of work - sealing the crawlspace. The entire job came out great. They were very efficient all the way. They called every afternoon to as working was ongoing to let me know what had been done, who would be coming next and when. Dennis came back to do the final inspection and found a couple of minor issues he wanted his team to come fix even though final payment had already been made. I feel like they care a lot about the work they are doing and approached the entire process in a highly professional and ethical manner. I would recommend HHR to anyone.

Healthy Home Restoration did a fantastic job encapsulating our crawlspace.  My husband and I moved into a house that had
an incredibly moldy, wet crawlspace that had a few difficult areas to work in. It was making our house dank and musty and was giving me terrible allergies everyday.  We got four estimates from different companies for the work.  HHR was not the cheapest estimate we got but Dennis answered our questions more thoroughly than anyone else and it was evident that he had extensively
researched the topic of crawlspace encapsulation. We felt most comfortable with HHR?s approach and we hired them to do the work.
William did most of the work and was extremely thorough, hardworking and personable for the week he spent here.  He added drainage in several places, sealed up all the vents, added a fan to draw air out, patched into our HVAC ducts to keep the air slightly conditioned and dry and replaced the crawlspace door for an insulated and sealed door. They also contracted with a
company to clean out our ductwork.  It was a total transformation!   Within a day, I could already tell a major difference in the air quality in the house. The air was dry and the musty smell dissipated within a week. It has been about 2 months since they performed the work and everything still looks fantastic down there.  Very dry, clean and most importantly, mold free!  They also guarantee their work, which is comforting.
We had no complaints at all about their work and would absolutely hire them again if we ever have a need.

We just bought our house a month ago and we were sure the bonus room carpet was moldy.  Around all the registers there were dark areas and along the carpet's edge.  There was a musty odor as well.  Dennis came out and immediately noticed the burnt smell, which is coming from our fireplace (we have someone coming out for that too!) and listened to all our concerns.  He then investigated the bonus room, determining that it wasn't mold; he thought it might be soot caused by the negative air pressure in the house and he spent time looking for what might be causing it.
He checked out our fireplace, our crawl space, our garage, and little spots around the house.  He ended up closing our flue and advising us on possible fixes and things that could help.  Basically, he spent time doing things to help us that had nothing to do with why he came out in the first place.
I asked about sealing the crawl space because we are having other issues I would like remedied and he quoted us a price and explained the whole process to us.  He was very helpful and patient with all our questions.  He spent quite a bit of time with us and didn't try to sell us anything and didn't want any money.   Just a wonderful experience, would highly recommend!

They were recommended by the plumber we've used through Angie's List. They came out within a couple of days of me initially calling. The work was pretty extensive. It was probably 3-4 weeks total by the time the work was totally done. They were communicating and we knew what was going on. It just took some time to get it done. I will definitely use them again.
