Gray Line Builders

We were impressed with the price / quality ratio and floor plans of Gray Line's homes in Cameron Pond, Bella Casa, and Copperleaf. So we checked out Gray Line's website. We live in Preston, and like the location. When we discovered online that Gray Line was building a new house on one of the last lots in Preston, we had an extensive dialog with Alan Hill. We did not buy the house. Ultimately we hesitated because we wanted a larger lot and wanted to see the house further along to get a feeling for the lot. Another buyer came along in the mean time and bought it. Alan was completely forthright throughout the discussions. He let us know when it was coming down to the wire, and so we were not surprised that we missed it. I think Gray Line sold five homes that week, more evidence that they have a good sense of the current market. In our dealings with Alan, we were 100% impressed: Fast response. Creative. Responsible. Reasonable. We were very happy with his response to our requests to price upgrades to the Preston house over several weeks. His approach reflected a good sense of bang for the buck and fairness -- not like other builders that we have dealt with that exact a major penalty for any change. We have been checking out Gray Line's lots at the Hamptons at Umstead as well as looking for large lots close to Jordan Lake. Alan doesn't know this yet but he is likely to get a call when we finalize the lot we like.

Grayline Builders is a wonderful local builder that builds excellent quality homes. Justin and Allan are very responsive and stick with you well after you buy your home. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new home.
