Per their contract, they have a 1 year warranty on the plants. The sod was bad, full of weeds and it never did get established and grow. Or perhaps the weeds were in the underlying soil, which they presumably treated to kill weeds before laying the sod. I called them several times on it, and they came out three times and did the weed and feed thing. That encouraged the weeds to grow happily, but did nothing for the sod. Finally in July, 5 months after laying the sod, they came and replaced it. They also removed all the plants on that side of the yard, sprayed for weeds, put down lots of pre-emergent stuff, re-sodded and replaced the plants. (Not new plants, but replacing the old ones.) One of the holly bushes had died, and a couple of junipers, they replaced those with new ones. Had they responded to the issue with the sod earlier, they would not have had to remove and replace all the plants, I believe, the weeds would not have invaded them from the sod. It also would have been laid while we still had some rainfall, and I would not now have this huge water bill from having to water it to help it get established. Most of it is now green, but not all. Now 3 more plants have died. I have been trying to get hold of someone from the company for more than a month, sent emails, went over there, called several times, leaving messages. Finally I got hold of Matthew, my original designer. His initial response was that they could not keep on replacing plants, plants die, they did not have time to come over here and do anything about it. I could take the dead plants to the center and get a half credit toward new plants. This is 7 months into the initial one year warranty period. I kept pressing him on it and he kept saying he was trying to meet me half way. But, I feel that if the plants are under warranty, half way is not sufficient. Finally he said he'd come over and see what was what, write up a credit for me and later, when they are not so busy, I could call him and ask for them to be replaced. I understand that they are busy and may not have time for me right now. I was not asking that he do something about it right this instant, but I do expect them to do something about it. So, now I'm waiting to see if they do replace these three plants, and I'm not feeling very secure that this is going to happen, warranty or no warranty. He seemed to feel they'd done enough work for me because of all the work with the sod. I feel that if they'd given me good sod in the first place, or at the least dealt with the bad sod earlier, they would not have had to do so much work, certainly not if they'd given me good sod to start with. And lets be real, the warranty doesn't say anything about meeting halfway.
Description of Work: 7 months ago this company did some extensive landscaping for me. My goal was to have a drought-resistant landscape that required little work, few chemicals and no watering. I had asked basically for a ground cover, their design gave me much more than that, trees, boulders, a variety of grasses and shrubs and some ground covers, as well as a portion of Zoysia grass sod. The design was beautiful and I was initially very pleased with their service and the results of their work. A lot of it is covered with mulch, however, and I am out there every week spraying weed killer on stuff coming up through the mulch. I accepted the design, so mea culpa. I will be replacing most of the mulch with some kind of growing ground cover when I can afford it, and I don't mean grass.

Was new to the area. Found the plants, shrubs, decorative items very, very appealing. Lots of stock and lovely presentation. After exploring other garden centers, I now realize this company charges in excess of what should be profitable & what their competitors charge. Would definitely shop around & get other estimates esp. if doing a landscaping project!

We had to wait a few weeks for service. We had heard they were very popular. They do have a lot of beautiful things but no follow through with the job. They came out and did the work but I'm not sure their workers are trained professionals. If you're going to charge this kind of money, your company should do impeccable work.
Description of Work: We had them rebuild a koi pond in our backyard.

I am so happy to go there, they are great.
Description of Work: I bought a 3 foot tall little baby dwarf magnolia from the Garden Supply Center. This place is awesome. They have the best selection of outdoor plant materials I have ever seen. The plant I bought is very healthy and it is just simply gorgeous. They do such a beautiful job with planting there; it is great. They are not cheap, but they are cheaper rather than going anywhere else outside. They are also great for specimen plants as well.

Very Poor. Impossible to communicate with anyone from Garden Supply, except when you went over to their store and tracked someone down. It appeared that they just wanted to get this job over with as quickly as possible. They continually had to redo things, they didn't plant the plants we had asked for and they never listened to what we wanted to do. Their seeding of the front yard had to be done twice. One of the tree Crape Myrtle's had to be replanted, since the original one had died.

Everything looks great. The new plants and mulch look better than the original shrubs, and the sod has grown into the yard extremely well. The only glitch was that, when the sod work was being done, they accidently covered my water meter. They returned within a week and uncovered the meter, and now the yard looks better than it ever has.
Description of Work: The folks at Garden Supply removed shrubs, which they replaced with plants and a mulch they recommended. Then they fixed damage done to my front yard when a water line needed to be replaced. The damage was pretty extensive: a gash down the middle of the yard, and deep tire tracks made by a trench machine. The work they did here included smoothing the ground out again and putting in sod.

Keith sent a questionaire before doing on site consultation to clarify needs and wants. He offered several possibilities ranging in cost, then elaborated on the one selected. Very knowledgeable and personable. The one hour consult was awesome. The time at the nursery was not billed. Jonathan oversaw installation and was also very knowledgeable and personable. My neighbors and I are very pleased and several have since visited them. I plan to work on the back yard in the fall and will get another consultation but do most of the work myself.
Description of Work: Had front yard and side yard landscaped - steep upward slope was difficult to mow and offered no curb appeal. Recommended a nice variety of low maintenance shrubs, perennials and annuals that harmonized. I then visited their nursery (very healthy plants) to finalize selection. Installation delayed due to weather but work and material quality excellent including mulch and pine straw. Also pruned overgrown shrubs and removed stump.
