Description of Work: Gary and his team turned our dreary basement into a bonus room and a full bathroom.

Description of Work: Finished our third floor, including spray foam insulation of the roof and replacement of the second floor HVAC plus installation of a mini-split system and replacement of two existing windows with larger ones; renovated kitchen by painting cabinets and taking out a half wall and replacing the floor; replaced the roof; installed two storm doors; replaced some carpet; replaced three toilets; painted entire downstairs. Gary is a great guy, very honest and ethical. I trusted him from the start and it was not misplaced. I never minded him being around and trusting him with our home. He was very upfront about what he thought would work best, what would be worth our money, and what he thought we should skip. It was a very big job- updating many components of our house, including a new roof and HVAC, and completely finishing an unfinished third floor. For the most part, we are thrilled with how it turned out. The only negative has been the painting work-- the painted cabinets have been chipping almost from the start, and the attic paint job seems to have a few big flaws (which might actually be from the drywall popping?). But overall, we love the changes and are really happy with Gary. He's a very good person, and a man of his word. Delays happen in any construction project, but he was good about communicating about what we should expect. I would hire him again.

Description of Work: Completed an addition. We were extremely pleased with Gary Jeudy's work. He was professional; his crew worked in a timely manner; any issues were resolved to our satisfaction; we were very pleased with the outcome.

Description of Work: Repaired rotten siding and window, repainted outside of house, removed old deck and stairs and built new ones using TREX, reconfigured brick landing, replaced several outside lights, installed new gutters, replaced screen on back porch with EZE Breeze system, and added a new window in a partially below-grade bedroom. |Gary Jeudy, the owner and general contractor, was very professional, personable, and responsive. He has teams of subcontractors that he uses for the various aspects of the job, and they were organized, hard-working, and cleaned up before they left. Our project was large and had several parts, but Gary organized his teams efficiently and effectively to keep the job moving except when weather intervened. When I had some concerns about some of the painting, Gary immediately either had a member of his team return or fixed it himself. It is important to him that his work is of good quality and that the owner is satisfied before the final payment is made. We are very pleased with the results.

Description of Work: I purchased a quote and 3D drawing. Continually had to ask for the quote and then 3 weeks later I received a handwritten quiye and drawing. When I asked where the 3D drawing was that I purchased he said "you want that?" He promised to send it to me that evening and I never got it to date.

Description of Work: I contacted Gary from Gdouble for estimate to convert screened porch into a heated room. Gary provided me the estimate however after providing me with the estimate he never returned my calls or emails for the next steps. Looks like he was too busy or job was too small for him.

Description of Work: They remodeled a bathroom. Gary was very responsive to all our questions and requests. We are very pleased with the results. The quality of the work is excellent. We had three estimates and Gary was, by far, the most reasonable.We are planning on using him again.

Description of Work: Basement remodel. Carpentry, electrical, HVAC, fireproofing, drywall, insulation and carpet. All parts of the project were completed successfully. There were a few problems with HVAC code requirements and fireproofing that put the project behind schedule but Gary worked through them all to get the job done.

Description of Work: This is the second purchase I've made from Angie's List for someone to look over my kitchen/bathroom remodel project and provide me with something written that I could look at and think about. For the second time, I've been disappointed. | |The vendor was punctual, even early (after he called to say he could come earlier and I agreed). And he was very professional -- wearing a uniform shirt, carrying a notepad, talking about city inspection rules, etc. He also negated a lot that had been said by another contractor I'd talked to, which did give me the impression that I really needed some plans from someone so I could study this thing out. | |He indicated that he had been overwhelmed by the response to the Angie's List offer and that he was behind but that I should have something in a few days to a week. | |It is almost three months later, and I do not have anything in hand and I haven't heard from this vendor in quite a while. I have contacted him once by email, in May (he was here in April 2014), and he said he would have something for me soon, that he was still overwhelmed. I can only assume he is out doing "real work" and has not had time to think about providing me what I paid for. I wonder how many other customers are in this same boat with him. | |As I said, this is the second contractor who has made an offer through Angie's List who has not provided what I purchased -- the main reason I made the purchases was to get some ideas about the remodel, and I really wanted the written plans for study and planning; that was the main feature of the offer that appealed to me, having the written plans in the end. And of course, I intended to hire the contractor who I felt I could best work with. | |This vendor, as the last, has let me down and not delivered. I regret to have to post this negative review, as he was very professional when he was here, and his manner encouraged me to have faith in him. | |But his lack of communication and non-deliverables since our initial meeting has caused me to give him an overall "F" rating, despite all the other stuff he did right (punctuality, professionalism, etc.). This is really too bad. | |I have since found another contractor who immediately caught my vision and was willing to brainstorm with me (the other two vendors both seemed to have one main idea and didn't vary much in their suggestions after that). This other contractor has already given me a bid and drawings -- and I didn't have to pay for his consultation visit or to have these written plans in hand. When I am ready to do my project, he will get the job. And I did not find him through Angie's List.

Description of Work: He came to the house measured the kitchen area. We discussed our concept and he nicely added his thoughts. However, we, according to the Angie's List ad were supposed to get a diagram of the work to be done. What we received was two pictures and a cost list. There were no specific details of what was to happen in out kitchen. I emailed them and asked for specifics and I got the total amount of countertop needed. We liked Gary and did want to do business with him, but with so little information on the project, we were not sure what to do. He has not called to find out anything either.

Description of Work: Contractor was responsive in showing up and seemed to understand our needs but has not gotten to us with design or prince after more than 3 weeks. we are disappointed in punctuality in getting it to us. Depending on results we may or may not contract him. We patiently await the final response. Will comment further once we see proposal, hopefully soon.

Description of Work: I've been using Gary/G Double Construction for several years. Always prompt, provides a detailed plan of work/estimate. He's repaired/painted house siding, redid my screened porch -- and most recently remodeled two bathrooms. With my input, he drew plans, and he patiently redrew them as we worked out issues (we removed the bathtub, and changed the location of the shower). I am picky and select high-end materials -- so I want the construction aspect to be high-end as well. I can trust Gary to follow his motto: "whatever it takes" to do a great job. His employees are courteous; everything always cleaned up.

Description of Work: The company repaired a bathroom floor and replaced a vanity cabinet. Even though I was pleased with the end result, the final price was a bit more than the original quote.

Description of Work: I asked G Double Painting & Construction to paint the inside of my 2400 square foot house for a move. I was very pleased with the quality of the work and the price. We painted all the walls and touched up the trim as needed. They patched everything before and stripped all the old caulk throughout the house and re-caulked it. Everything I asked them to do they did and didn't cut any corners. I will definitely be using them again as I need some painting done in my new house as well.

Description of Work: I have used G Double Painting and Construction personally and referred them professionally. Personally, G Double has replaced light fixtures, stained our deck, and repaired exterior wood trim and power washed our home. When asked to prepare an estimate for painting the exterior of our home, Gary told us we could go another year or two before repainting. I would recommend G Double Painting and Construction to anyone - and do so often! They are professional, honest, and dependable and have always exceeded our expectations. Katie D.
