I had contacted DLF to have the soffits redone and vinyl put on the wood portion of our mostly stucco house and to have the stucco portion of the house painted. They sent Marv from Forry, Inc, to give me an estimate for the non-painting part of the work and I paid him directly upon completion of the work. The previous owner had installed plywood and stucco over a portion of the two rectangular front windows to give an appearance of arched windows. This plywood was visible and unsightly from the inside of the house and reduced the light coming into the house so I wanted it removed and the stucco repaired. Initially, I had just intended to have the soffits replaced and the wood portion of the house vinyl clad. However, Marv explained that some reframing in front would improve the appearance of the. I went with Forry and DLF instead of the other bidder (even though the Forry bid was higher) because Marv took the time to suggest the reframing and explain how it would help the house look better. He was certainly right on that regard. He was very flexible on how I wanted the framing and window work done, letting me know what he intended and making sure that I was in agreement especially when there was more than one option on how things could be done. Both he and his helper were polite and courteous and came when they said that they would. I thought that some of the finer detail work on the vinyl could have been pieced together a little bit better, but in general I was satisfied with the job and it made a tremendous improvement in the look of the house, especially after the painting was done. Once Marv left, I noticed that some of the drywall had come down from the ceiling in the garage on the opposite side of the wall from where they were working. He said that there was nothing that they did that could have caused this and it cost me $200 to get it repaired. I don t know if it was a result of their working on the other side of the wall or not, but if not, it was real coincidence. Other than that, it was a good experience.
