Their work was abysmal. It was riddled with neglect. When the upstairs unit was installed, they were late, made us late to our evening engagement, left equipment in the attic (because they were late) and never connected the condensate line. This resulted in a significant leak that spanned all four levels of our house (attic to crawl space) and resulted in the displacement of our family with young children for more than a week while the house was gutted and dried. Also, despite empirical evidence, they spent a week arguing that we had created the leak. Ultimately, they made and insurance claim, and we spent the following 6 months sorting through estimators, insurance representatives and contractors before our house was returned to normal. The installation of the downstairs unit (air conditioner and coil) was not only a failure, but resulted in the perpetuation of a significant health risk to our family--carbon monoxide. Because our downstairs furnace was newer than the unit upstairs, they checked the unit and agreed that it would be acceptable to upgrade only the air conditioner and coil. This was completed despite the presence of an enduring water leak associated with a broken the heat exchanger--clearly visible on the outside of the unit and that we later learned has been causing a steady flow of carbon monoxide emissions into our home. Simply put we are simply horrified, and profoundly disappointed with this provider.
Description of Work: They were to install a complete furnace and air conditioning system for the upstairs (in the attic) and a new air conditioner and cooling coils for the downstairs (in the crawl space).

I called Environmental after indicating the outside unit compressor would not often turn on with the thermostat and that ironically kicking the unit seemed to help the problem. If the unit turned off due to meeting adequate temperature, it would often not come back on again until kicked - which obviously meant a faulty electrical connection. Tech originally comes out and HVAC unit is actually running. He is not able to test the quality of the electrical connection and is sure I have a thermostat programming problem and I do not. Two hour labor charge, manages to convince me I *may* have a programming problem, but of course the problem reoccurs. Call them again, indicate I'm positive I have an electrical connection problem. This time I make sure I do not have it running and kick the unit again in front of them. After about a two hour labor charge again, they replace the wiring from the wall and some additional wiring. They don't charge the service fee this time, but I think they should have refunded the original fee for not following my advice about what I thought was wrong. In contrast, the HVAC install went super great and in general they are friendly and responsive, I think it depends on what tech you get and their familarity with being able to do electrical things.
Description of Work: I've used Environmental many times, from simple HVAC repairs to replacing an HVAC unit. This report details my last experience, which was a repair on an HVAC unit they installed about 2 years ago. In this case, I had a faulty electrical connection between the wall and the unit outside, and provided them various data about the phenomenon
