He was professional and seemed knowledgeable. He seemed really busy at first and I didn't hear from him for over a week. Then, he popped up and after that he was fine.

It was difficult to get ahold of him at first. But when we were able to schedule an appointment and he was able to come to perform the service, he did an outstanding job.

He's done a good job his work is very good and I'm very pleased with him. They have done some masonry work that includes concrete pouring and repair. He took out existing brick steps. My gutter drain had to be inspected and repaired. They spotted with concrete brakes in the sidewalk. I used a coupon I found on Angie's list. They are still in the process of doing the work now. However as far as I see they're doing a great job!

Good, but had to wait for over a month to schedule the work.

Got one call in early July telling me he would call around July 26 to schedule appointment.After 2 months and Mr. Henson still had not come by to give me a price on the work I need done. He did returne 3 calls and promised to drop by between other jobs, but I need to get this work done before winter. FinallyI left a message that I would have to give him a negative rating on the list, he returned the call immediately. He started work the following week and finished the job in 2 weeks. He does good work, once he gets started. He said he was overwhelmed with responses with his Angie's list special. He is a 2 man operation and I would use him again, but not when he's running a special!

I called back a few months later and he said they were still very busy and I said I would really like for him to send someone out. He agreed, but no one ever came out. I called again and agreed again that someone would come out and no one did.

I had a coupon from Angie's List which I used for this work. He did a really careful job. He had told me that it would take about four hours but it ended up taking about eight hours, and he did not charge me anything extra. He did a beautiful job and was able to match the color of the mortar well. He cleaned up after himself because it was messy. He was very nice about the whole thing. He came one day but couldn't do it because I had painters working, and so he came back the next day without complaining about it. He worked very hard and was very dedicated to getting the job done well and quickly. I would recommend him to anybody who needs masonry work.

A " Big Deal" was being offered. Mr. Henson and team get a "D" rating because they never followed through to coordinate a date to come out and do an assessment / estimate. Mr. Henson mentioned he had a major project. Though this may have been the case. A sign of a true professional is the way he or she handles his or her customers. From 06/04/2011 (when last agreed, he would follow-up mid-July) to 08/22/2011, Mr. Henson has not contacted me. Mr. Henson, one call or communique to explain the delay or the possibility of not being able to follow through, would have said volumes about how you respect the customer or demonstrate that the customer comes first. That courtesy was never extended.

Came as scheduled to make an estimate to repair the front brick porch and steps. Very courteous and detailed in recommendation. The estimate was 370% higher than two other bids I received. Ergo, I did not use his services. UPDATE: I didn't mean infer that Mr. Henson's estimate was out of line when considering the work required to do the job his way. The alternate solution proposed and accepted was to remove and replace all loose brickwork on the top surface, totally replace one step and install gray stone of the entire surface of both the porch and step. This completely satifactory work was done for $940. Mr. Henson's estimate of $3470 is 3.691 higher, which I rounded to 370%. My comments were to point out that his proposed solution did not address the need in an innovative manner. I offer no negative comments on the work of Mr. Henson since I did not use his services beyond the estimate. I do, however, say that the work done by the craftsman who did the work was professsional is every way.

Mr. Henson and his crew were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. He promptly came to give an estimate quickly after my call (on a holiday weekend) and delivered a detailed analysis and estimate. They worked very hard and the project turned out great. We had a tremendous amount of rain two days ago and the new drainage system worked perfectly. He was concerned about matching the old bricks, but I can hardly tell the difference between the old and the new. I highly recommend Mr. Henson to anyone with similar needs! He is conscientious, keeps in touch regularly about schedules and details and does beautiful work at reasonable prices. I will hire him again.

It was a pleasure to work with Dan Henson from start to finish. I had interviewed numerous masons for this job, and was so glad that I held out until I found one that I felt had the expertise to do it correctly. Dan, a master mason, came highly recommended by a contractor that he had worked for for many years. His proposal was well written, thorough, and clear. As it turned out, the job turned out to be far more complicated than initially supposed by anyone - no fault of Dan's, it was impossible to know ahead of time what lay under the steps. Many less experienced or less principled masons might have simply laid a new foundation to get the job done quickly in a way that would have ended us up with the same problem all over again a few years down the road. Dan, however, had great concern for doing the job properly. He handled the challenges superbly, carefully thought out the best long term solutions, and was more than fair about minimizing additional expense to us. I'm sure that the extra work he did lowered his profits, but he was cheerful, careful, and unfailingly polite and professional throughout. We ended up with steps that were far more attractive and better built than the ones we had started out with. He took great care at the job site to always clean up properly and caused no damage to surrounding structures or property. If weather or anything else delayed his arrival for work, he always called me to let me know what was going on and when to expect him, a true rarity in the construction industry! Furthermore, while he was working on the steps he noticed that a stone had fallen off the facade of my second story. He took it upon himself to bring a ladder to work the next day and asked if it would be OK for him to fix that while he was around. He did this at no cost to me, just to be nice. I would hire him again in a heartbeat. He told me that he also does interior tilework.
