Description of Work: Consolidated installed a new roof for us on 6/29/11. As part of this job, they inspected the insulation in our attic. We contracted with them to have the insulation brought up to current standards. As they had been in doing the roof, they were prompt, professional, completed the job in less than anticipated time and cleaned up thoroughly. I highly recommend this company.

They did not do the work.
Description of Work: Not very nice on the phone. Told me no one was going to be willing to help me with what I needed. Hung up and called another roofing company for my estimate and repair. They stated they would be delighted to do an estimate for me.

THE MEMBER CALLED OUR OFFICE AND ASK FOR SOMEONE TO GO OUT AND LOOK AT HER ROOF. I ASK HER WHAT SHE WAS LOOKING FOR - SOMEONE TO LOOK AT IT OR REPAIR IT OR REPLACE IT. SHE RESPONDED THAT SHE WANTED SOMEONE TO LOOK AT IT FIRST. AT WHICH TIME, I RESPONDED THAT IF SHE WANTED A REPAIR, WE DO NOT DO REPAIRS AND I DID NOT KNOW ANYONE WHO GIVES ESTIMATES JUST TO REPAIR A ROOF. ANY COMPANY OUR SIZE JUST GOES OUT AND DOES THE WORK AT SO MUCH PER HOUR. SHE DID NOT SEEM TO LIKE THE IDEA THAT WE WOULD NOT RESPOND TO HER REQUEST FOR AN ESTIMATE ON A REPAIR; BUT AS I TOLD HER, WE ARE NOT A REPAIR COMPANY. WITH THAT SHE SAID SHE HAD SEVERAL OTHERS WHO WERE WILLING TO GO OUT AND SHE HUNG UP. OUR COMPANY IS NOT SET UP TO DO REPAIR WORK. ALL OF OUR CREWS ARE 6-10 MEN CREWS AND ONLY DO RE-ROOFING. MANY SMALL 1-3 MAN OUTFITS ARE MORE THAN WILLING TO DO THAT TYPE WORK. WE ARE NOT SET UP NOR DO WE WANT TO BE IN THAT BUSINESS. LOOK AT ANY OTHER RESPONSES YOU HAVE ON US AS A REPLACEMENT CONTRACTOR AND YOU WILL GET NOTHING BUT TOP REMARKS. I AM SORRY SHE TOOK IT THAT WAY; BUT ALL ROOFING COMPANIES ARE NOT IN THE REPAIR BUSINESS. WE DO FULL ROOF REPLACEMENTS AND PUT A 10 YEAR 100% WORKMANSHIP WARRANTY ON OUR WORK. FOR 26 YEARS, WE HAVE TRIED NOT TO BE ALL THINGS TO ALL PEOPLE AND FOCUS ON WHAT WE ARE GOOD AT. I AM SORRY THE MEMBER TOOK IT THE WRONG WAY; BUT WE HAVE ZERO COMPLAINTS WITH OUR CUSTOMERS AND WE DO THOUSANDS OF HOUSES PER YEAR. WE APOLOGIZE FOR ANY MISUNDERSTANDING.

Consolidated Roofing was great. I called Van on a Friday around 5 PM, he was at the house Sunday to price the roof, and the following Friday his crew replaced the roofing. His pricing was very straight forward and slightly lower than another company. His quickness for getting the job done couldn't be beat. On the day of the job, Van was around the house almost the whole day while his crew worked. When the roofing on our Southern Pines home needs to be replaced, I'll call Van before having anyone else look at it.
Description of Work: Consolidated Roofing removed the old shingles and installed new shingles. They did a great job of not making a mess and cleaning up the little mess they did make.

I called Consolidated on a Saturday to obtain a quote. Van came out that week to examine the roof. Van came in and gave me a complete written bid on that Saturday. They started work the following Tuesday ( 3 days later). Other companies were four weeks out in being able to do the work. He communicated with me daily on progress. He took step by step photos of the process. Everything was spelled out in writing ahead of time. There were no surprises. His crew was professional and cleaned up daily.
Description of Work: Consolidated came in a redid the entire roof (over 4000 sq. ft.)on a 1950 home with a plank board roof. I had them lay plywood over the plank board which increased the cost. The roof and three chimneys were repaired in the process. Consolidated was thousands less than the other bids.
