I called their office first thing (8am) Monday morning & a plumber was at my door just before noon. He not only repaired the problem but also tested the pressure regulator for me.
Description of Work: Needed water leak outside which started at the water meter fixed. Problem found on a Sunday so I had the Town of Cary come to shut off the water.

This is the 3rd (maybe 4th) time I have used Cary Plumbing and the results of this service visit remind me why I keep calling them back when I have plumbing issues to be addressed! From the minute I called their shop to request a service visit, the experience has been pleasant. The gentleman that answered my call was courteous, and asked follow up questions to allow him to more closely gauge the nature of the work needed. Some homeowners may not have known all the answers to the questions (brand of leaking valve? brand of exterior hose bib? is there rear access to the shower assembly available? is the leak active? etc, etc) but I appreciate the fact that the questions were asked since this shows a methodical service approach on the part of this company. Svc was schedules for between 11am and 1pm the following day. Cory was the plumber who provided the call. He dialed my cell about 20 mins before showing up, and he arrived around 11:30 am. He got right to work with the shower valve first, and that was done relatively quickly. As he reassembled the fixture, he pointed out to me how to adjust the hot water temperature regulator should I have the need for hotter water in the future from this fixture. For the exterior work, I was expecting that the entire hose bib would need replacement but Cory told me "I can probably just put in a new anti-siphon valve and fix the problem." Sure enough, that was the solution, so that part of the job was less expensive and complicated than I thought it would be. Always a good thing! During payment, Cory took time to explain how the company processes credit card info and what to expect next. Overall, this visit was about as good as a plumbing visit could be. I'll definitely use Cary Plumbing in the future should I have the need (and there's always some little thing that needs repairing related to plumbing!).
Description of Work: Replaced Moen shower fixture cartridge to stop leakage. Repaired exterior Woodford hose bib by replacing vacuum breaker. Parts for this job were approx $55 with the remainder being labor costs.

It was done very professionally! They removed the tank from my attik, installed new gas pipes in my crawlspace and installed new tankless waterheater. I was also suprized how good they installed a contol unit. Every hole they made in walls was sealed and everything was done according to the code.
Description of Work: I needed to replace my tank water heater with tankless one.

Called first thing Thursday morning and was able to make an appointment for later in the day. Daniel arrived on schedule and went straight to work. To expedite matters, another plumber came by to assist in the installation. Both men were friendly and professional. Everything went smoothly with the install. The ins and outs of the new unit were explained and we were provided with printed information to assist in maintaining the water heater. From beginning to end this was a positive experience. We got what we were looking for at a very fair price.
Description of Work: Our water heater died on us. Cary Plumbing replaced the old water heater with a new 50 gallon A.O. Smith natural gas unit. Installed new water heater, cleaned up storage area, carted away old unit.

Problem was --- We had followed the pilot light instructions on our water heater, but we couldn't get it lit after numerous tries. As it turns out, we were having the exterior of our house painted, and Brad immediately realized that the painters must have covered the outside vent for the water heater (on the far side of the garage) which had prevented us from lighting the pilot. When I asked Brad about flushing the water heater to remove the sediment, he said that this service should only be done if the water heater is already getting flushed and drained on a regular basis. Since our hot water heater is about 5 years old and we've never had it serviced, he said he would not recommend that we get this done. Here's the reason [*** Link removed ***] Brad was only at our home for a few minutes and charged us nothing ($0) and gave us good honest advice about our water heater without trying to sell us a service we didn't need. AND here's other example when Cary PLumbing has helped us out: A few years ago, an underground water pipe broke somewhere between the outside of our house and the hook up to the main pipe at street level. They gave us a very reasonable estimate and then had some one immediately over to hook up a temporary pipe over the lawn, so we could still get water to our house. Another Plumbing company, that I had called first, gave us no such temporary option and told us it would be a few days before they could put in new underground piping. THANK YOU Cary Plumbing!!!!!
Description of Work: Excellent same day service. Brad (I think that was his name - I'm bad with names) from Cary Pumbing came to fix our water heater.

They scheduled us to begin our re-piping on May 2nd and were here at 8AM that morning. Our project manager, Frank, explained in explicit details how the project would proceed and what would need to be done to complete the project in the most beneficial and professional manner. My wife and I were very concerned about drywall dust, dirt etc. that would be a result of the workmanship. But our worries would completely unfounded. I must say, it took Frank and his crew ONLY two days to completely re-pipe the entire two story, two and a half bath house and replace every inch of polybutylene pipe in the house and to the meter, both exterior faucets and add a new whole house shut off valve. They were meticulous to clean up after themselves constantly throughout the job and when they left the first day, with exception of the four holes in the downstairs ceiling, we could not tell they were even here. My wife commented that she was very impressed with how often the vacuumed and cleaned during the first day. The second day they completed the job, secured the inspection and scheduled the dry wall repair. I cannot express enough how professional and clean Frank and his crew were. I could tell from their interactions that they worked very well together and fed off of each others strengths. From the communication between them while they worked assured me of the experience and professionalism of each team member and they worked with flawless precision. My own interactions with each of them was very respectful and ensured me that they were a very competent team. The next day Mike came to complete the drywall repairs. This was completed very professionally with, believe it or not, very little drywall dust. Even after sanding. Mike painted the entire ceiling where the replacements were made and even though my wife and I knew where the holes were, it is impossible to tell. I have to say that Cary Plumbing greatly exceeded our wildest expectations in every aspect of this job. We are firm believers that you get what you pay for and that is very true with Cary Plumbing. They respected our home as if it were their own and probably left it cleaner than it was when they arrived. I would vehemently recommend them for any plumbing service you need and especially if your home needs re-piped.
Description of Work: I contacted many area plumbing companies to give me an estimate on replacing the polybutylene pipe from my water meter and in my home which was built in the late 80's. I received a wide array of estimates ranging from 5000.00 to 12000,00. The only company that offered a comprehensive line item estimate and the only company to offer drywall repair as part of their package was Cary Plumbing. After reading many reviews on each company and looking at the Angie's list reviews we went with Cary Plumbing. It was probably the best decision we have made in a long time. And we are extremely happy with the results.

Received phone quote the week before. Asked about new codes and was told that they would not apply in our situation as we are in an unincorporated area and that it would be a direct replacement. Was able to schedule within a few days. Verified the phone quote upon their arrival. Final price was broken down for me so I could see the original phone quote along with the parts that were used that were additional. Very accommodating plumbers. Left the place clean. No upcharges on additional items or scare tactics used.

Fantastic service at a reasonable price. The scheduled visit to provide an estimate for the installation of a gas line into my kitchen turned out to be only one of several tasks that Cary Plumbing could easily resolve for me. Because the tech, Bobby, was knowledgeable (and patient), he quickly answered many questions and concerns that I had about symptoms and concerns I had with the plumbing in my house. He explained that he could provide an estimate to correct all issues during this initial visit, and because he said it would be no problem to complete all the work on the next visit, I agreed to have him take a look. The quote he provided seemed extremely fair and reasonable to me. There is no way I could take the time to accomplish what they agreed to repair and replace, and I know my house breathed a sigh of relief to have pros take on what I would have certainly butchered. I agreed to the estimate and scheduled the service. The same tech that provided the estimate, Bobby, returned on the appointed date, with Mike assisting him to complete the items slotted for install, repair and replacement. They worked great as a team and quickly completed work in a rather confined crawlspace, and at the faucets on the outside of the house, and at the new gas connect in my kitchen. Instantly, the water pressure in my house was now stabilized (eliminating the machine gun chatter from my ice maker on the fridge. Who knew.); the hose faucets were replaced, having been damaged during previous freeze events; the gas line was completed and set for inspection. Cary Plumbing builds the municipal inspection costs into your estimate, and they take care of getting those inspections scheduled. When my inspection was complete, I made a quick call to have a tech return for the removal of their gas pressure test gauge, and the job was done. Speaking of the inspection process, when the inspector dropped by to look at the installation, I mentioned to him that Cary Plumbing was the contractor, and he said to me, "Those guys do great work. I never have any issues from them." That confirmed to me that I made the right choice with my plumbing and gas line work. So happy. One last observation: On the two occasions when I had to call the office - to schedule an estimate, and to notify them that the inspection was complete - I did not encounter voicemail or an answering machine. I spoke to an honest to goodness, real, live human being, and they were actually pleasant to talk to. That was not my experience when reaching out to a couple of other companies before contacting Cary Plumbing. I did not leave messages with the others - it just did not instill a sense of confidence in me to hear a recording. Everyone is busy, I know, but that initial engagement of reaching a person at Cary Plumbing, versus a machine, made the difference for me and set the stage for them getting my business. I hope you have as great an experience with this company as I did.

I have a 10 year old house that had a failed water heater. Upon inspection, we learn the original home builder has installed the water heater in a way that it won't go down the stairs in the attic easily. 2015 standards also indicate newer more-insulated water heaters won't make it up into the attic. Company has some old-stock heaters though that will still go up into the attic and sells me one, which is great. Install goes mostly fine, with one younger foreman type person and two helpers. At one point one contractor who doesn't speak a great deal of English attempts to do something quickly with a vent or something, that later results in someone coming out to fix it and bring it up to code. This all happens same day, but they should have sent the more senior person out originally Taking out the old water heater happens 4-6 weeks later after some of the water has a chance to evaporate and thus it can be more safely lowered out of the attic. Water heater has trouble fitting through the hole - Company comes out and tries to hammer the original water heater into a smaller size that will fit out through the hole, eventually giving up and offering to either leave it up there or slightly cut the opening to the attic with a hand saw to get it out. The removal did not go perfectly well and resulted in the wood to the attic splitting at various points in the framing, and eventually the unit being removed and me having to patch up, paint, and so on. Later I fix this this would screws, filler, and paint. It's clearly the builder's problem for not leaving a good way to remove the water heater - or more likely, not installing it in the garage where it was easy to access. However, for the way the water heater was removed, I think the company should not have offered to try to enlarge the opening, because the removal of the water heater ended up splitting the wood anyway. Rather, they should have advised to leave it up in the attic or brought tools capable of disassembling the water heater. Alternatively, when realizing they had damaged the opening, they should have sent someone out to fix and paint. A tricky scenario where they did offer to go beyond the playbook, and they were friendly, and I would use them again. However, I'd just be cautious about removing water heaters in attics, and making sure they bring out people who understand the work involved rather than trying to improvise. (I should also note I've had this company install a garbage disposal, while obviously a much more basic job, and that went great).

We interviewed 3 of the top plumbing companies on Angie's list for the RTP area and chose Cary Plumbing because they have a lot of experience in repiping. Although they are often booked up for a month or so in advance, they are willing to fix any plumbing problems you have while you are waiting, free of charge. As it turned out we needed them to fix a leak during this period and it was done free . Another reason we selected them is they have a follow up drywaller who repairs the holes they make getting to your pipes. The drywaller did an excellent job repairing the holes. Cary Plumbing was the only company we interviewed that had a followup drywaller. I would use Cary plumbing for any plumbing jobs and recommend them to a friend.

We were very pleased with the service that Cary Plumbing Co. provided. Frank, the leader of the crew is very knowledgeable, professional and easy to communicate. He and his crew are polite and pleasant to work with. Fran made good judgement to drilled the minimum holes on walls and ceiling and left the tiles not touched. There were also very neat and floors were very clean after they finished their work. Mike did the dry wall. We couldn't tell where are the holes after Mike finished his work. We will love to recommend this company to others and will use their service in the future!

I took a day off work on a Friday . They called me 10 minutes before they were supposed to arrive to tell me that my water heater didnt come in which Im sure they must have known long before 10 minutes prior. They said it should be in within 4 weeks, so I said ok fine and after 6 weeks I called them back to find out what the hold up was at that point they could not find any notes from my calls, no copy of the price quote and needed me to fax whatever I had to them. At this point I decided that if their customer service was this bad now what would it be like if I had a problem with there product. So I told them thanks but no thanks.

All work was timely, professional, to code and they cleaned up like they weren't even there. The workmanship and quality of their work is outstanding. I have not one complaint but only praise for Cary Plumbing.
Description of Work: After getting a horrible quote on service from Mr. Rooter and Roto-Rooter a friend told me to call Cary Plumbing. I had them come out and change out 4 old bathroom valves for 1/4-turn valves. While they were there I asked if he could give me a quote on running a gas line to my kitchen for my new gas range and a line to my deck for my gas grill. It was $2500 cheaper than Roto-Rooter did it for. The job was done on a permit and inspected by the City Inspector so I know it was done right and to code. It was not quoted that way by Roto-Rooter. My wife was home and I was on a trip and I think they saw and easy mark. Not good for Roto-Rooter!! I ended up using Cary Plumbing for every bit of plumbing work I needed in my house. To say they were incredible, prompt, professional and did great work would be an understatement! They were better than GREAT. They did all the valves in my house, the gas job, installed plumbing fixtures, and many more since we purchased and moved into our home. Cary Plumbing will be the only people we ever call! The receptionist at Cary Plumbing was very professional in scheduling an appointment. Noticed rust in water while filling the bathtub. Water heater had 17 years, time for replacement. A tech was scheduled out between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. He arrived shortly after 3:00, introduced himself. He completed the prep work to remove the water heater, and had to wait for a coworker to arrive and assist with removal. Took approximately three hours. Both plumbers were friendly and professional. The next day there was the smell of gas in the garage. Cary Plumbing was contacted and a tech out later that day. A leak was found in the track pipe which was repaired.
