+ -1 moreI called Cary Plumbing to get an estimate on fixing a pipe that burst over the winter. They charge a $15 fee for an estimate, which is refunded if they do the work. The technician was able to give me an estimate over the phone. He explained that the RPZ valve as well as some pipes needed to be repaired. The valve was replaced and the plastic pipe was replaced with metal pipe. When they were done with the work, he showed us how to properly prepare the system for the cold, winter months. The service was done quickly and professionally.
Description of Work: Repaired and certified an irrigation pipe that had burst during the winter.

They showed up on time for the estimate and the work. The final costs were less than the cost estimate. Overall, it was a good experience with Cary Plumbing.
Description of Work: We had a sewer back-up due to roots growing in the main sewer line. The representative provided an estimate to install a new clean out of $475-$525. They dug down about 2 feet to the street connection, removed the roots and resealed the connection. The pipe was not broken, but not properly installed by the builder. The final costs were less than the original estimate.

+ -1 moreI got four quotes for this job and the highest was more than double what Cary Plumbing charged. Due to the timing of the sewer installation, Cary Plumbing had to come to my house at four different times to complete the work, but that didn't bother them. They always arrived on time and were very professional. The only complaint I had was relative to clean up after the work was done. They had cut through the concrete wall in two places and left debris on the floor. They also had to cut through sheet rock to install the new drain line and left debris on the floor. During the final phase some of the sludge from the existing sewer line that was removed dripped onto the basement floor which they didn't clean up. I used a shop vac to clean up most of the debris but couldn't remove the sludge that had been tracked while they worked. I called to ask that they return to clean the floor, which they did immediately, and apologized for leaving the mess. Cary Plumbing was very professional.
Description of Work: The city installed a sewer line in front of my house so I hired Cary Plumbing to connect to the sewer line. When getting estimates I noticed that the existing cast iron pipe, which went from the two bathrooms to the septic tank & was over 40 years old, was pitting and needed to be replaced. Also, I had old drum traps under the shower and under the bath tub that needed to be replaced. All of the plumbing on the kitchen side of the house had to be replaced in order to connect to the new sewer. The new line ran into the basement where a sink and clothes washer were hooked into the new drain. I also had Cary Plumbing install a garbage disposal in the kitchen that I purchased elsewhere. All new drain lines were PVC and a back flow valve had to be installed on the kitchen side of the house because of the depth of the line. Due to the layout of my house two drain lines had to be installed and run through a concrete wall to be connected to the sewer line outside of the house in my front yard.

+ -1 moreIt went pretty well - they offered to come the same day but my schedule dictated they come two days later (on a Thurs). He fixed everything in about 45 minutes (all three little jobs) and left. Unfortunately, I went to use one of the toilets the next morning, and there wasn't any water in the tank at all. I didn't have time to call that day but called over the weekend and left a message, and they came Monday morning. Apparently that tank needed a new valve and flap, which he didn't know/notice the first time he was here. He only charged me materials for the second trip. Still, there's something wrong with that flushing mechanism. You have to pull the lever up (on the outside) after you flush for the flap to go all the way down. But I don't want to go through the hassle of having them come out again. I'll deal. Now the toilets flush, but are both louder when they refill than I remember working toilets being. But hey - they work!
Description of Work: I had a laundry list for the guy when he showed up. One toilet was flushing really slow (if at all), one toilet wouldn't hold water in the bowl, and I had a leaky sink faucet.

The service person arrived on time for the reschedule and took care of all work in a timely manner. Part of the job included cutting a hole in the ceiling downstairs, so he provided me with a contact for repairing the sheet rock ceiling.

+ -1 moreThe job took four or five hours, but he got everything working well, and the bill included two bottles of industrial-strength drain opener. Brant's prompt and efficient, and the company's office seems well organized. I'll certainly use them again.

+ -1 moreFirst, they responded quickly to our leaking water line and had it replaced within a few days. As far as I can tell, the plumbing part of job was well done. The estimator showed up after noon for a 10am-12pm appointment and did not call ahead as I was told. He promised there would be no disturbance to our landscaping. His exact words were "you will barely notice we were here". My expectations in that regard were very high and I chose Cary Plumbing partially because of these promises. The estimator and I came to an agreement to where the digging would take place, but this was apparently not communicated to the guys who did the work, because they ran the trencher right through two planted areas. A few plants are completely gone; many were left buried under 3 inches of dirt. Additionally, large rocks and a piece of copper pipe were left in the yard, one of which I hit with my mower. At my request, they returned a few weeks later to clean up and did a pretty good job.
Description of Work: Installed a new water line from the meter to the house.

Description of Work: 3 old toilets were replaced with water saving, elongated toilets. All 3 were installed and the old toilets taken away. A garbage disposal was purchased and installed in an existing kitchen sink, along with a new faucet. A kitchen sink was hooked up after countertop replacement. New faucets were installed in 3 bathrooms and new cultured marble sinks were hooked to drains.

After checking out our house and our needs they gave the estimate, which was right on par with others to do the same job, although it does seem a bit expensive to me. If we decide to have the unit installed I would hire these people to do it, they were knowledgeable about the product and great about explaining how this type of system works.

My neighbor had seen the water bubbling up out of the yard and into the street, and had called the city to come shut off the water. He also (He's a very good neighbor.) left a note on my door telling me what had happened. It was after hours for Cary Plumbing, but when I called and asked for overtime assistance, I got immediate response. Brant from Cary Plumbing was at my house in about 20 minutes. Even in the miserable heat, Brant quickly got to work, dug up the line, replaced it with a new section, and had my water turned back on by 7:00 p.m. I've used this company before, and would definitely use them again.

The other companies we talked to wanted to make over thirty, including cutting out wainscoting and destroying wallpaper. When they found out we had a new baby on the way in three weeks, they moved their schedules around to get us in first before our baby came. We really appreciated that type of courtesy. They also had the drywall man come back a second time to touch up his work for us. I do intend to use them again for some other projects.
Description of Work: Cary Plumbing re-piped our entire 3000 square foot home. They took out all of the polybutene pipes that we did not want in our home and installed pox piping. They piped for three days and on the fourth had a drywall person repair eight spots where they had to cut into the walls. Most of the pipes they ran up from the crawl space or down from our attic.

The fact that I did need the pipes was decided and the work was done very well. The price for everything was with in my budget and the whole job was done with great quality.

+ -1 moreWe had no problems or complaints per say, using this company. They were pretty good, and their work supports the landscaping that we had done at our home. The landscapers had actually found this company to do the actual sprinkler installations for us so I can not comment on price, exactly. We did pay a rather large landscaping bill, however, so I would imagine their rates would be fairly competitive.
Description of Work: Our home is newer and during its construction phases, this company came to install our home irrigation system. I couldn't accurately say how many sprinkler heads that we have in our front yard, but I can tell you there are a lot.
