We had no hot water from our the pair of 50 gallon tanks in our attic. Several neighbors had recommended a tankless water heater, and some had used Cary Plumbing. So I called them, they sent two guys the next day who went into the attic, found both water heater tanks were leaking slowly, shut them down, and recommended the Rinnai tankless water heater. They have been happy with the results from installing them over the last 10 years. They said one 9.4 gallon per minute tankless could replace both tank heaters. They quoted $3150 to remove the old tanks from the attic, cap off the water, gas and electric up there. They would then install the tankless heater on the outside wall of the house near the gas meter and connect the water and electric via the crawlspace. I agreed to the work and they scheduled it for the next day. I researched the Rinnai on the internet. The 9.4 GPM units are available on amazon for about $1000 for self installers, so I was paying about $2150 for the install, which to me was well worth it because of the amount of work involved in getting two 50 gallon tanks down out of the attic. I also did a little more research and discovered that installing the tankless heater in the crawlspace was a good option to avoid the elements. I decided to do this so we can get the expected 20 year life out of this type of unit (warranty is for 12 years). Cary Plumbing send their supervisor over to make sure this was feasible, and gave us the thumbs up. This required a change to the Rinnai indoor unit so it could be vented through the crawl space wall, which in turned caused a delay over the weekend to exchange the units at the warehouse. On Monday morning the 2 man crew and supervisor showed up with the Rinnai R94LSi unit to do the install. Removing the old heaters and capping everything in the attic went smoothly as they used rope to lower the units down thru the attic ceiling doorspace. The installation of the new unit in the crawlspace went very well also, and everything was up and running by 5:00pm that day. The unit works great supplying hot water to all of our bathrooms, laundry, and kitchen, and the water warm up time is about the same as it was before. The crew from Cary Plumbing did a very professional job and left everything clean and neat. We highly recommend Cary Plumbing and the Rinnai tankless heater.
Description of Work: We needed a new water heater to supply 3.5 baths, kitchen, and laundry room in our 11 year old home. Our old tank water heaters had gone out and were slowly leaking after 11 years. Cary Plumbing estimated the work needed at no charge, removed two 50 gallon water tanks from our attic through the dropdown attic ladder opening, and capped off all the associated water, gas, and electrical in the attic. They brought over a brand new Rinnai R94LSi tankless water heater, installed it in the crawlspace, and hooked up the hot water lines, gas, and elecric for the igniter in the crawlspace. This included installing the venting through the crawlspace brick wall. They then tested out the system, which worked very well.

The plumber came on time and got right to work. He had to leave once for parts he didn't have on the truck, but returned promptly. He advised me to replace some parts that I had thought might be repaired, and when the faucet that I had bought didn't work properly, he referred me to a web site for a higher quality faucet at a lower price. When the job started to run a little long (there was a lot of work to do), he called for assistance. He also suggested a couple of improvements that I hadn't thought about, then made those quickly. I was pleased with the quality of the work, and I thought the price was very fair. A week later when the new faucet had arrived, Cary Plumbing sent a different plumber to install it, and he was also quite professional.
Description of Work: I had a whole list of plumbing jobs to be done, including drain/pipe cleaning, faucet installation, leaking supply lines, leaking drains, and valve replacement.

I enquired about the water tank repair on Sunday evening, and they said they could make it to my home Monday afternoon. They arrived on time, diagnosed the problem, and repaired it in about an hour. The service man, Tim, was extremely nice, professional, and did an excellent job performing the repair. I thought the price was reasonable and really appreciate the fact that they showed up on time and on such short notice. I will definitely used Cary Plumbing again!

I scheduled Cary Plumbing to come in 2 days when I was going to be home for another repairman. We talked thru options on phone, settled on fixtures, was quoted a price. Repairman arrived on time, did work quickly and quietly, and we settled up. We have used them several times before, have always had great experience, they do good work at a fair price.

I was very impressed and thankful these guys were open! I now have an outfit I can trust will do quality work, no more, no less. I look forward to getting my other plumbing issues addressed by Cary Plumbing in the near future!
Description of Work: I had been reviewing plumbers for a few weeks as I've had 3 different groups come out and not perform work to my satisfaction. Well, Cary Plumbing was tested today when my wife and I discovered our water wasn't heating properly. Of course this had to happen on Christmas Eve with guests coming into town!! Well, I called and the gentleman on the phone was courteous and prompt. I told him the issue and he said someone would be out between 10 and 12 (it was 9:30 when I called!). Sure enough Brad arrived around 11. He was very friendly and informative. He educated me as he evaluated the problem. He quickly diagnosed the issue (a blown thermostat) and had the appropriate part on his truck! Not only did he address this pressing issue, he took time to look at the long-standing issues that led me to look for a new plumber - all on Christmas Eve!

I called on a Saturday. From the time I called it only took 2 hours for the plumber to arrive, determine that the hose couldn't be unscrewed and replace both hose taps, clean up and leave. Two hours from call to done -- on a Saturday!
Description of Work: I was having a new washing machine delivered. The delivery crew wasn't able to disconnect the feed hose from the outlet. I had to call a plumber to have it removed.

Had this happen 5 years ago, and a different company was here 6 hours, and charged me $375. I called that company back and they estimated from $180-280. I called Cary Plumbing and they estimated $89-140. They also found it was a bigger job, and brought a 2nd man to help snake a 30-40' section. Took about 3 hours, and did a great job. Tomy was very professional and courteous and they are my plumbers from now on!! I have recommended them 3 times to others already!!

The faucet in the kitchen and the showerhead in the guest bathroom both needed to be replaced as the kitchen faucet was leaking and the showerhead in the bathroom has been there since 1984, so it was time for a replacement but no showerhead that I had bought in the past would fit on the showerhead pipe. I was also having problems with the two toilets as one was filling extremely slow and the other would just run for from time to time. I bought the kitchen faucet and showerhead so they could be installed when the plumber came out. I called Cary Plumbing as I had used them in the past. I was was extremely pleased with the plumbers that came to replace the kitchen faucet, showerhead and fix the two toilets. The plumber had a showerhead pipe in his truck and was able to replace the old pipe so that the new showerhead would fit. He also replaced the chain in one toilet and replaced the parts in the other toilet. I called on Monday and Bill with Cary Plumbing was very helpful and pleasant to talk to. The appointment was scheduled for the next day between 12 and 2. The plumbers arrived at 3:00 and were done in less than one hour. I was pleasantly surprised with the cost. The work was excellent and they cleaned up and removed the old faucet and showerhead. I will definately call them again if I need something else done.

After receiving a $1800 quote from a plumber recommended by my in-laws, we wanted a second opinion. We found Cary Plumbing on Angieslist and gave them a call. James came out the same day and quoted us $1400 for the entire job -- cleaning out the blocked drain to alleviate our immediate problem and then returning to replace the sewage main that connects our home to the town's sewage system. Even better, the first guy had said we needed to have several trees removed before the work could be done (and of course recommended a buddy of his in the tree removal business), and James said they'd be able to work around the trees, no problem. The work was done in two days time, and imagine our surprise when James called to tell us they didn't have to replace the entire pipe. Our bill was $600 LESS than the original quote! We were amazed at James' honesty and the quality of work done. If we have any plumbing issues in the future, I know who we're calling!

The plumber was prompt, personable and knowledgeable. They diagnosed a faulty gasket/seal on the tub overflow valve, and had everything repaired and back to normal within 90 min. In addition to being personable, the plumber was conscientious of minimizing expense and took care to minimize mess. Couldn't ask for a better paid service visit.

Our water stopped running which is either a well problem or an issue with the water tank which is under the house. I checked Angieslist on line and found several companies rated w/ 'A's" and did call one other company but decided on this company due to the "straight" and pleasant demeanor of the guy who took my call. We agreed that they'd be at our home btw/ 11a and 1p and they showed up at 10a!! I GLAD about that. I wasn't expecting it so was pleasantly surprised when the DID get to our home early. They looked at the tank (I was hoping it was going to be the switch..(it's less expensive to repair) surmised that it needed to be replaced. He had to go pick up a tank. He was back in about 30 minutes and he and a helper got the job done, cleaned up and were pulling out of the driveway by 12:20p. They even pulled out an "extra" tank that the last plumber left under the house!

Besides what I wrote above, Kevin answered my questions on the phone about which brands were better in his opinion and what to look for at Lowes. He returned on Monday, as specified, took out the old faucet and installed the new one. He cleaned up the mess. Kevin did not charge us for the first visit, which was nice of him and his company. I had a $10.00 coupon through Angies List and used it.
Description of Work: Kevin came out when our kitchen faucet stopped working. He examined it and determined that it was corroded and we really should get a new faucet, Since it was Friday after hours he asked if we could wait until Monday to keep the cost in line before he would return and install a new faucet I would buy at Lowes. He showed me how I still could get water by unscrewing some of the parts so I could still make meals. He returned on Monday and installed the faucet.

I am so glad I called Cary Plumbing. Their service was reasonably priced, prompt, and professional. Paul came to my home three times and took the time to show me how to properly disconnect and reconnect the device to prevent further mishaps. I will definitely use this company again.
Description of Work: Our lawn irrigation backflow preventer device had failed inspection; as a new homeowner, I had not realized that it should have been disconnected and stored indoors over the winter to protect it from freezing and bursting. Paul from Cary Plumbing ordered a replacement device, secured a permit, and replaced and tested my device.

The entire job went very well. The estimate and terms were provided in detail, quickly, and in writing. We needed an immediate fix to a large leak that was handled promptly. The ditch for the replacement line went by two specimen trees that we were hoping would be minimally stressed. We agreed where the ditch would be run by the tress and how much root cutting would be tolerable. They dug the majority of these tranches by hand (I did about half of it down to 6 inches to help with root preservation and they extend the entire ditch to 18 inches deep). The remainder was done by a mechanical ditch digger. We had expected it might rip through our in-ground. When it did, they were quick to repair both plumbing and wiring. They also brought the plumbing up to current code. When the inspector came, it was a matter of showing him each item he was looking for then he signed off within minutes. The crew returned to fill the ditch soon after the inspection. I reviewed the work carefully myself, testing as much as possible before and after completion, and I expect this will be one part of the house I should never need to worry about again.

This company was a pleasure to deal with! From the first phone call, very professional and competent. The solutions they offered upon inspection of our washer/dryer ("Flood Check" hoses, replacing the drain pan with sensors) were just what we were looking for but would never have known to ask for ourselves. The service was completed super-quickly, as promised, and the people who came out were very friendly and professional. I used this company based on Angie's List recommendations and am very pleased to add my own glowing review.

I have had great experience with them. They always come on time; they are always professional. They seem to do a great job. I feel like they are honest and they have integrity. They always seem to be able to take care of the problem. They are very efficient. They explain what they do. They are really good. They really helped me during the emergency situation recently. I had another plumber appointed to do the work, but he couldn?t do the work. So, I called them and they took care of it in a couple of hours. It was a major problem. They were also very reasonable. I paid about $375. I will use them again in the future.

The plumbers arrived 5 minutes early and did a very professional job. My only problem with it was that the charge was $40 more -- $159 with the Angie's List $10 coupon, instead of the $119 quoted ? than I expected. On the phone, the service rep said the total might run $10 over the $119 quote, but probably no more. But it was quality work.

Had a broken terra cotta sewer pipe near curb. Others told probably could not repair if terra cotta and would need to repair from curb to house for $5-6000 range. Minimum charge if could repair near curb would be $1500. Frankie of Cary plumbing estimated could be done for between $550-650. Came the next morning, dug up around pipe, repaired and coordinated with the city that had to dif up the street and repair their connection at the mail sewer line. Entire job was 5 hours and Cary plumbing part around 3.
