We were extremely impressed with Cary Plumbing and will definitely call upon them in the future. Here's what went well: * Availability. First thing Monday morning, I started calling local plumbers. Cary Plumbing was my third call and the only company able to come out the next day. * Office support staff. Other plumbing companies require you to call mobile phones of people working in the field. While I appreciate how that facilitates communication if there's an emergency, I find it awkward to discuss times and dates with someone I know is balancing a phone on his/her shoulder while trying to do other work. Cary Plumbing has dedicated staffer capable of scheduling appointments. * Two-hour appointment windows. I had another plumber quote me a noon to 5 p.m. window. Cary Plumbing offered a narrow appointment window of 11 to 1 -- and they arrived promptly at 11 a.m. * Communication. The plumber who performed the work kept my husband apprised of what he found and what steps he would take to remedy our various problems. * Excellent service. Cary Plumbing resolved all of our problems and at a very reasonable price.
Description of Work: The plumber fixed (a) a leaky shower spigot (2) a bathroom sink that lacked adequate pressure and (3) three sinks that wouldn't hold water when the drain was stopped.

We called Cary Plumbing and they came out later in the day. They were well within their window of arriving, called before to let me know when to expect them. Brad was professional, courteous and took care of the problem while explaining what he was doing. I highly recommend Cary Plumbing and plan to use their services in the future.

Tim from Cary Plumbing arrived on time and replaced my water heater expansion valve and cold water shutoff valve. The work was very clean and done in less than an hour. Since Cary Plumbing charges by materials and time, the final cost was one third (really!) of what I was quoted from a reputable price-by-the-job plumber.
Description of Work: Cary Plumbing replaced the shutoff to the water heater and installed a new expansion tank.

Really impressed with this company. From the time I called through the appointment everyone was polite, efficient, accurate, timely, etc... I called because I have an issue where it takes longer than I would like for hot water to reach my kitchen faucet. I also had some issues with my hot water tank making the popping/banging noises (calcium deposits). Neither issue was an emergency, but I wanted to find out what my options might be and cost. After calling I was given an appointment a few days later. The technician called about 20 minutes before arriving to let me know he was on his way. He showed up right at 9am (I was given a 9-11am window). Technician was very helpful in explaining the issues and the options for resolution and very clearly pointed out the pros and cons of the options. I really appreciated his honesty. Sometimes you feel like the technicians goal is just to figure out how to sell you something - this was NOT the case with Cary Plumbing. Technician was very helpful and honest and it turned out that the options available had too many cons vs. pros for me so I have decided not to do anything at this time. I appreciated that the technician was perfectly fine with this and didn't pressure me into doing something just to make a sale. Next time I have any plumbing issue I will certainly be calling Cary Plumbing!

The original water shut had been temporarily removed from a kitchen cabinet when we remodeled the kitchen. Once the kitchen remodeling was complete we called Cary Plumbing to reinstall the water shut off back in the same cabinet. The water lines are located in our crawl space. The plumber who showed up miscalculated where the shut off should be located. Instead of drilling a hole from the cabinet into the crawl space, he decided to drill from the crawl space into where he thought the cabinet was located. Instead of relocating the hole in the cabinet, he drilled 2 holes through our kitchen floor. When he discovered his mistake he called the owner who immediately asserted that they were not responsible and promptly billed us $117 and told us that the holes in our floor was our problem and that they would not take any responsibility.

I had a water pipe burst where my outside faucet is and water was pouring out from under my house. I shut off the valve, called Cary Plumbing and they sent out Joe. He was fantastic! He quickly figured out the problem with a pipe and valve, and replaced the outside connection all with a very friendly and courteous attitude. Pretty incredible considering it was 7PM, pitch dark, he had to go under the entire house to get to the valve AND it was 24 degrees. Reasonably priced too. Would definitely refer to a friend!

The work I needed done required 2 visits. The first visit the plumber was prompt and professional, even bringing his own paper towels. He did a great job explaining everything that needed to be done. The second visit, a different plumber came. He was late, due to a problem at his previous job. This would have been okay, but we had to call the plumbing office to find out why he was late, they did not call us. Once he arrived, he did a good job--he was efficient in his work and cleaned up after himself. The water pressure in my sink is now better than it has ever been. I would use Cary Plumbing again.

Cary Plumbing was called at the last minute to give me a quote for hooking onto the city's new sewer line. I had originally contracted with another company who backed out at the last minute because they said they had too much work. Cary Plumbing came when called and gave me a quote on the spot and I gave them the job. Their quote was less than the original company who I had planned to use. Cary Plumbing was very professional, always showed up on schedule, and did a great job on a difficult project. I now use them for all of my plumbing work.

Tommy from Cary Plumbing arrived and went straight to work. He cut off the water at the meter and then came in. He informed me of each step as he did it. He had to cut the drywall behind the old washer (already removed) to access the copper pipes. He cut out about an 8" section and then attached nipples to the pipes. He warned me that the soldering might set off the smoke alarm, but it didn't. He then attached flexible pipe to the new nipples and them inserted the new faucets. He replaced the now hinged drywall section (about a foot square). We then moved the new washer into place and Tommy attached the hoses, put hose drain into the drain and plugged in the washer. We started the washer to see if the water was running in as it should. My wife ran 6 loads of wash thought the washer and dryer and all was well.

Cary Plumbing did a timely and professional job in all aspects of preparing a quote, planning and performing the work, and handling wall repair resulting from the polybutylene pipe replacement work. They started work promptly, and worked with us to decide where to cut holes in the walls and ceilings to assist in the installation of the new water lines. (Cary Plumbing originally wanted to cut the majority of the holes in the ceiling of the first floor, however worked with us as we wished to avoid that). They ended up cutting about 7 access holes, in addition to some smaller holes behind a couple toilets. They installed new valves at all sinks, toilets, washing machine, refrigerator, and near the hot water heater installed a new valve to shut off water to the entire house which we use when we travel. After the re-pipe was complete, and pressure tested, Cary Plumbing used a subcontractor to come behind them to do wall repair and caulking/painting. In our case, there was some wall tile that needed to be replaced. We provided wall paint, as most surfaces had been painted within the previous couple years it matched well. The work has held up well and came with a 2-year warranty, which will be up in March 2014.

I called on Cary Plumbing to replace my bathtub faucets after having such a good experience with them when a pipe started leaking under my house on Saturday evening--on the weekend before Veteran's Day. The plumber I had been using was out of town and didn't answer his phone. I felt a bit of panic because although I knew to turn off the water main under the house, I wasn't sure what else to do or how bad the problem was. I called Cary Plumbing on Saturday evening around 9 p.m. Someone called me right back and told me the only thing I needed to do was to turn the breaker off to my well, which was simple enough to do. He told me that someone would be out on Sunday around 11 a.m. The serviceman arrived right at 11, went under the house, surveyed the situation, and told me he needed to get a connector because of the size of my pipe. He was back within an hour and had the leak fixed and my water back on by 1 p.m. This good experience on a holiday weekend made me decide to use Cary Plumbing again. I decided to place a leaky bathtub faucet that had been fixed with new washers a year ago by another plumber but started leaking again within six months. Again an appointment was scheduled (on a Friday), the serviceman (Brook) came out, and surveyed the situation. He said he needed a part he didn't have and explained what needed to be done. He said he would be back the following Tuesday so that he could put the par t on his truck and not charge me for the time it would take to go and get it. He arrived right on time the following Tuesday, did the required work, and installed beautiful new faucets that I am very pleased with. He worked steadily and completed the job within hours. I have a new access hole finished with a plastic cover and a beautiful new Wolverine faucet that doesn't leak a drop after it is turned off. Cary Plumbing is now my plumber of choice because I know I can get an answer on a weekend emergency and I know I will get excellent work when someone arrives.
Description of Work: Replaced bathtub faucets, which involved running some new 1/2-inch copper pipe, connecting it to the old 3/8-inch pipe in my 60-year old house, cutting and finishing a new access panel in an inside closet, and installing a new three-lever faucet to replace the old worn out faucets. I also used Cary Plumbing two weeks earlier when I had a plumbing emergency: a pipe under the house started spouting water on a Saturday night.

They arrived on time. They were very friendly and were more than willing to teach me as they worked. I had read about installing toilets and wanted to do it myself, but I felt better getting expert help given the age of my home. The 2 plumbers worked efficiently and let me help several times. The cost was based on by the hour work and I provided the toilets. They were finished very quickly. The town of Cary has a rebate program where you can get $100 from the town per toilet for every old toilet you replace with a new low flow water saving toilet. This saved me $200 too. It is 7 months later and there have been no issues whatsoever with the toilets. I would use Cary plumbing again. They do everything by the hour at a reasonable hourly charge during normal weekday hours and are very efficient.

Cary Plumbing was able to give me a quote for the job on the phone which was key for me. Several other plumbers wanted to charge me for someone to come to my house to give a quote for the installation. One company agreed to have someone come out and give a free estimate. They quoted $900 for a toilet and installation. I'm sure it was a high- end model toilet but that was not what I had intended to pay for a toilet. Hours after the toilet was installed, there was a slow leak coming from the tank. I called the next morning to report it and the plumber returned that day to tighten all the connections again. Problem solved. Very happy with the Cary Plumbing and will use them in the future.
